About The Fox Den

The Fox Den is a contemporary studio-style lodge with a hot tub in Powys, Wales. Located on the outskirts of Rhayader, this single-storey retreat sits 4.2 miles from town in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains. The lodge forms part of Cae Llwyn Lodges and offers stunning views across the Elan and Claerwen Valleys.

The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and wildlife watching. Red kites soar overhead. You can explore the owner's adjacent fields and local footpaths. Elan Valley's dams and reservoirs are nearby.

The Fox Den sleeps four in its open-plan space. A sofa pulls down to reveal a ready-made double bed. The dining area has another pull-down double bed. Bunk beds are available but only suitable for children. The compact galley kitchen has a two-ring gas hob, microwave and fridge. The shower room features a walk-in shower.

Elan Valley Visitor Centre (8 miles, 15 minutes) has a café and children's play area. Rhayader (4.2 miles, 10 minutes) offers shops, pubs and a leisure centre with swimming pool. Builth Wells (12 miles, 20 minutes) hosts regular events. Aberystwyth (34 miles, 50 minutes) provides coastal attractions.

Me and my partner went for our anniversary and we have the best time thanks to the lovely owners we was welcomed by a hamper which my partner devoured, it was always nice and warm the bed was very comfy and we had everything we needed. Im our last nice we have a fire and cooked some burgers it was very peaceful finished by chilling in the hot tub, there was many things to do around us like that walking and even food I would highly recommend and cant wait to book again will definitely be going back ! X

The most relaxing and scenic location! ! The fox den was really modern and came equipped with everything you would need for a self catered holiday and more!! On arrival we found complimentary snacks and drinks in the fridge which was an extremely thoughtful and generous touch. The cabin and hot tub were incredibly clean. Theres so much in the area to visit also, so it was nice to have the option of a secluded retreat as well as the option to explore mid wales. Thank you so much. Would definitely return!

We had an absolutely brilliant time, and it was such a lovely place and perfect for our needs. However, there were some missing features that were promised, including the WiFi, an oven and a dish washer. It didnt ruin our holiday, but we had brought oven food that went to waste, and one of our party had to miss a work call due to the lack of WiFi. It was still a great holiday, but it would just be good if the listing appliances was accurate.
