Mountain View Reviews

We had a nice stay in lodge 13, but do want to point out a few niggles, to help you improve the accomodation. 1. The decking is sunken and rotting in places, one guest had a nasty fall on it on arrival. 2. The armchair in the living room needs some TLC 3. The bathroom mirror light doesn't work 4. The ignition button on the cooker only works if you remove the plastic knob, then press the metal button down. That took some figuring out. 5. Some of the taxi numbers in reception either do not exist or are based so far away, they want to charge 20 to 26 to drop us off 2.5mls away in Rhayader. I found local firms in Rhayader, so that list could use an update for future guests. 6. Why have a notice in the lodge saying that so many types of recycling rubbish are to be seperated, then NOT offer those recycling options in the bin area? For example, no plastic or metal recycling options in the bin area.

I was extremely disappointed with 1st on booking was told lodge 13 on arrival we were in 14 were do I start front door broke fridge broke lack of utensils table broke hot tub outer cover cracker and wooden barrier very very loose had to tell kids not to go near for the price paid very very poor

Lovely slice of peace and quite retreated away from it all with stunning views for those moments of reflection. The only amendment that needs making is a better frying pan and not just the 1. Wasnt exactly ideal when needing to fry.
Bathroom needed a clean and mattresses needs replacing. My son slept on a sunken mattresses then had to swapped over with the spare mattress. However it was a relaxing stay although we couldnt use our hot tub the last 2 days as there was a technical problem hoping to get some money back as agreed with Hannah. Non the less the views are amazing if you enjoy the countryside.
The cabin was spotless and warm on arrival and very well equipped. The beds were supercomfortable with crisp linen. Sounds silly, but the towels were big so often theyre barely bigger than a facecloth!. The hot tub was glorious with amazing views. Check in and out was easy. So much to do locally in stunning surroundings.
Lodge ticked all the boxes, Clean comfortable and a great position and good hot tub.
Michael
Absolutely love coming here , its our second time this year. The cabins are clean, comfortable and the site is really well maintained. The setting is amazing with lovely views.

The property is aware
Slide door a bit dodgy. One plinth in kitchen falls off . Otherwise absolutely great !!
Christine
A lovely setting to stay in a place when weather is good. The property was basic and adequate. Surprised not to have hand soap in bathrooms as this I would class as a basic necessity. I booked this place last minute and through Holidu'. I had paid full amount before realising it was affiliated to Sykes. I had 20 discount with Sykes which I would obviously have used had I known it was a Sykes property.
Aleksandra
We have really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Everything was great, beds were comfy and the lodge was clean. The view is beautiful from the terrace. It was about an hour drive to the beach, but the views on the way there were absolutely gorgeous. The lodge is located 6 minutes drive from the town. Would definitely come back here.
Welcoming, spacious, clean & accommodating. We had a very comfortable & enjoyable stay here. The hot tub was relaxing too with wonderful views. Thoroughly recommend!
Alison
Lovely lodge clean, tidy and beautiful views Easy check in. For us, the only down side was to not being able to check in until 5pm, from 2pm would have been perfect Check out a little early too. Felt a bit rushed however it did give us time to stop for more exploring on way home We will definitely be back though as everything else great hot tub included !
Kathleen

Great accomadation, great views ,we had 3 bed for six sisters ,all very nice ,but I did report brocken door lock which ment we either got locked in or locked out ,lucky we had another door to use , as no one made no attempt to fix lock ,as we were 6 women toilet rolls and bin bags needed to be more
Melanie
Lovely break, beautiful location for peace and tranquillity. Nice and clean accommodation. Sufficient distance and consideration given in design to obscure the view from neighbouring properties to give each other privacy. Clear, concise, helpful Information given inside the property to allow ease and understanding of requirements during stay. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
Jessica
Really enjoyed our stay, we all had an amazing time couldn't ask for a better place! lodge was beautiful clean and tidy, rooms were comfortable and well set out, very impressed by how lovely it was and the views were absolutely amazing, the only draw back we had was being able to dry clothes etc after using the washing machine everything else was great. I would definitely come back again.
Booking through Sykes cottages was simple and we got a good deal. We had an absolutely amazing few days away with the kids. The private hot tub is the icing on the cake and when not out we were in there several times in the day. If you're looking for a peaceful break with stunning views and lovely walks out, would highly recommend this. Elan Valley is about 15min drive from the lodge with the most stunning views and lovely park in the middle of it for the kids to enjoy. The owner and staff are amazing and the lodges are so clean. In our kids words this is the best holiday and holiday home EVER lol. Will definitely be back here. Thank you Carl, his lovely Mum Molly and the rest of the amazing team for everything. We are missing the place already.x
Excellent Location. Felt connected to nature. Staff excellent. Hot tub superb. One of the best places to relax in wales.
First night we arrived the keys left out were for the wrong lodge which was very frustrating and wasted the next morning when we inquired and were told it was an error. It was fixed and we moved but no compensation for the time lost.
The lodge was absolutely gorgeous. .. The hot tub was a massive hit with everyone!
Richard
Lodge itself was nice but the amount of flies in the place was unbelievable. When we arrived there must of been 60 to 80 flies in the place.I killed around 20 in my bedroom. To be honest we was going to complain as this is not what you want when you arrive.Obviously this is an on going problem as there was 2 tins of fly spray and a load of sticky fly traps under the sink.Dissapointed to be honest
Sylvia
Hot tub would not fit 6 only 3 seater but a step could be used for a seat to make it 4 but no more than this, which is strange for a lodge that can accommodate 6 people easily. Not enough crockery for 6 people Rubbish area not clear where to put general waste Would be useful if in the information pack they had a taxi number
The property was in a immaculate condition inside and outside, everything was very clean and tidy, the lodge was kept nice and warm prior to our arrival. Hot tub was very warm and clean. We had a fantastic time and created memories for us to remember. Only downside were the bed mattress which were too soft and the beds were very low, apart for that everything was spot on! We will definitely come back.

There ware times that the internet connection wasnt good.
Joanne
Perfect location very peaceful and all the staff are very friendly. Hot tub was lovely, the views are amazing. Highly recommended!
The marks would have been much higher but the hot tub was not cleaned for the first 4 days until I called to complain and then still wasn't cleaned every day. The book stated it would be cleaned every day and due to covid, I would have thought the cleanliness would have been their priority
Had a fantastic week here. Amazing views, very quiet, cabin had everything we could have wanted in it. Will definitely be back.
Overall very good, as mentioned by others flies can be a problem in lodge, but wouldnt stop us going again. Lovely location and lodge has everything you need, really relaxed feel with owners there if needed.
Andrew
A lovely place to stay with a great view. The staff were really friendly and helpful and facilities in the cabin were great. Dog friendly and plenty of places to get out and about.
Lovely place. Very comfortable. Even though the flies are quite annoying because theyre everywhere, We still had a blast and we really enjoy the place. Thank you. Will definitely gonna book again soon.
Would be good to have a hoover in the property.
Absolutely loved this property. Perfect little break and it exceeded expecatations. Would definitely go back.
Radu Catalin
It is a very beautiful place, everything was very clean and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay!
Very pleased on arrival with the spaciousness and quality of the accommodation. Hot tub was fantastic and used every day of our stay. Kitchen and utensils provided were well stocked and clean. Living roomdining area comfortable and roomy. Bedrooms were comfortable and beds provided a good nights sleep for all of us. Walked the hill to the picnic bench to take in the fantastic views. Also walked some of the woodland. Staff helpful and accommodating.
Angela
The hot tub only stayed hot for a couple of hours. It took hours to reheat. Otherwise it was lovely. Will certainly come back. Views were fab
