Tailor's Cottage was a great base for our few days exploring around Rhayader and the Elan Valley. Hidden away in a lovely quiet village, the house is right next door to the owners pub but was quiet.

Very clean, very friendly owners and pub customers, lovely big garden that the dogs enjoyed

Absolutely loved staying at the cottage. Very homely, clean and spacious. The cottage was in a stunning location. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Big comfortable accommodation, nice big garden, beautiful quiet location, good wifi and mobile signal

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of Wales. The cottage owners were very friendly & helpful and the local pub was welcoming. Would certainly consider staying here again.

Wow what a stunning place to stay, the small village at the bottom of the valley surrounded by woodlands is the perfect place to spend a weekend, we wish we could have stayed much longer. The cottage is so warm and cosy and very well looked after and extremely clean. The kitchen has everything you will need and was the room the family spent the most time in playing games and relaxing as it is a very big space, the sofa in the kitchen is a nice little touch. The lounger has 2 big comfortable sofas and a large flat screen TV which was perfect to keep the kids happy. Each bedroom is on suit and the showers have plenty of power. The bedrooms are all a great size with plenty of storage for clothes and the beds extremely comfortable. The WIFI was signal is very good and had no issues dealing with 5 devices connecting, again very happy kids. Overall, this is a stunning place to stay and cannot recommend highly enough. Only 20 mins away from the stunning Elan Valley and 20 mins away from nearest supermarket. All instructions from the host were very clear to understand and easy to follow. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and they also run the pub next door. There was no noise issues from the pub at all and if we had more time we would most certainly have popped in for a drink after exploring the many woodland trails on the door step. We loved our long weekend here and cannot recommend it highly enough, one of the best cottage stays we as a family have experienced as a family of 7.

This was a lovely cottage to stay. Clean and comfortable with all the facilities needed for a nice holiday in a picturesque place. Peaceful area also. Friendly hosts who were on hand if we needed anything. Would recommend this cottage for a wonderful holiday.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Owners very welcoming and helpful.

We had a lovely stay it is in a beautiful peaceful Village. The cottage is in a lovely location and is well equipped. The only problem we had was the toilets for the pub are outside the bedroom window and although the customers are not noisy, if the weather is warm and you have the windows open at night it can disturb your sleep. We went to bed around 10.00pm as we had a early riser four year old with us. Not much in the village for small children unless they enjoy walking.

We had a lovely time and would definitely comeback

We had a fabulous stay at Tailors Cottage, as a group of 6 bikers the location was central to all the areas we wanted to explore in Mid Wales. The owners were lovely, they kept the property and the large garden to a high standard. The well kept garden which we enjoyed whilst having a BBQ was the perfect way to end a busy day. The owners also own the quirky pub next door, where we enjoyed a fantastic evening. Highly recommend.

The accommodation is so well organised, and everything is included, even a beautiful Bara brith cake on the table as you enter into the kitchen, a lovely personal touch. Everyone we met was very friend, Karen and John plus customers in the pub. Thank you.

We had a fabulous week at the Tailor's Cottage. Karen and John made us feel very welcome. The Cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need on a self catering break. The pub next door is a little gem, with great beer and the locals are extremely friendly, Lots of lovely walks at the doorstep and the Elan Valley mountain range was outstanding. We ate out several times for lunch and dinner, and the best of all pubs serving food we visited was the Llanerch Inn, Llandrindod Wells. The food and service was outstanding. We would highly recommend a stay at the Tailor's. Massive thank you to Karen and John.

Gorgeous stay. So peaceful. The pub is a lovely bonus and the owners are very friendly. Garden and house were bigger than i expected.

I've just returned from a stay at Tailor's Cottage with my daughter and her dog for a week and it was really relaxing. The cottage is very spacious, airy and well equipped with everything you need. We only ate out once at the Harp in Old Radnor, which is worth a trip as the food is great. I was a bit concerned before going, that the electric heaters wouldn't be warm enough but when we put them on, they soon warmed up and we were really toasty. The garden is great and Luna the dog particularly enjoyed it. We even sat out in the Autumn sunshine with a cuppa one afternoon. The village is very quiet and all you can hear is the birds singing. There are loads of walks just out from the door and you can easily get to Elan Valley, Builth Wells, Llandod and lots of other interesting places. Hopefully we'll be back again.

Such a lovely stay, we are all missing it dearly! Beautiful area. Lots of great memories made. I wish I was still there!

Lovely cottage with an amazing garden, very peaceful and beautiful surroundings, the pub next door was fab, especially Ben ,the pool playing dog. Our two dogs loved the garden and the walks. Friendly owners who made us very welcome.

The perfect house in the perfect location. The house and garden were obviously well cared for. We had everything we needed. A lovely relaxing time was had by all.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The garden was gorgeous, and safe for our dog. The location was wonderful, having a variety of stunning walks and the cosy pub right on our doorstep, Thank you!

A lovely wellequipped cottage in a wonderful location. Lovely garden and great walks straight from the cottage no need to drive. A nice drink enjoyed in the Happy Union Inn with friendly locals.

Beautiful cottage and location, loved sitting in the garden watching and listening to the birds. Fantastic to have so many walks from the door stop and having the pub next door was a bonus. Only negative would be that some of the cooking trays could do with updating.

We had a fantastic week at Tailers Cottage, the accommodation was excellent, the village is lovely, scenery stunning and we were blessed with beautiful weather. I definitely think we will be returning.

The cottage was perfect for us and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you

We have stayed at tailors cottage for the past week and we have just returned home. It was absolutely amazing. The cottage was beautiful and very well presented. The views from our bedroom window was facing the church across the way and to see that everyone in the village all help each other is great to see. We also went into the owners pub the happy union inn we were made to feel so welcoming all the locals talked to us and gave us information on whats around the area, We visited Elan valley which was the beat part of our holiday. Our AkitaX Malamute Keiko also made a new a friend Ben with the owners dog. Ben is amazing so friendly and has a lovely funny character. We are already looking at some dates for next year to be returning. This is definitely our new holiday please in England. A big thank you to John and Karen for making us feel very welcome n their village and for allowing us to rent their cottage for the week. We have really enjoyed it. And like I say, We will be returning as soon as we can. For anyone who is looking for a get away with beautiful surroundings, This place is the please you need to book and show John and Karen your support. You dont be disappointed. Thank you so much John, Karen & Ben. Jade and Matt and Keiko

One of the cleanest cottages I have stayed in. Everything you could want. Loved it would definitely stay again. Only one small downside is the garden wall on one side is low so our dog jumped straight out but we put the kids slide there and all was good.

Lovely winter week spent at Tailors Cottage in the rural and picturesque village of Abbey Cwm Hir. Good base to walk the Elan Valley, Llandrindod, Rhayader etc and day trips to Machynlleth to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology and Aberystwyth and Borth etc are achievable. Kitchen and living area spacious and comfy as were the beds. A lovely get away from it all destination. Owners were on site next door if we needed anything. Very relaxing.

Don't gone on firework night. The pub was noisy, kids screaming out side your door, cherry knocking and gallivanting uncontrolled in your private garden. Very quiet village with some good walks for the dog. Pleasant owners.

The Cottage was amazing, so much room, everything was very clean and the beds were all comfortable. The pub was extremely friendly and our hosts were very welcoming, incredible value, would highly recommend to anyone

The cottage is well equipped, comfy beds & great that each bedroom had an ensuite bathroom. Lovely that the owner had left a very yummy fruit bread.

We enjoyed stay very much. The house and garden were lovely. We had everything we need and more. People were very friendly too. The surrounding areas were beautiful and peaceful with plenty of places to walk with our two dogs, who enjoyed the holiday very much too. We highly recommend it.

We were very happy with the accommodation but the stairs did present a bit of aproblem as one of our party is disabled. The property would benefit from a downstairs toilet. The WiFi was very intermittent

Great location and lovely garden . The owners were there when needed, but not in your face . The pub next door had friendly clientele and great beer . Loved the place .

Lovely quiet relaxing clean cottage , a good place to chill out. the owners & locals very friendly & helpful.there are lots of interesting p laces to go but transport is essential.loveley place will go again john eileen pauline & eric

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Nothing around so perfect for a quiet escape. The house is much bigger than expected. Owners incredibly friendly and relaxed. Would stay again. Infact have friends already asking for the details to go.

Lovely cottage in a quiet area easy to get to with good roads. Owners were very friendly and helpful and pub next door was lovely. The cottage has everything you need. We took two dog s and the garden was plenty big enough for them to run around and is secure as long as they don't jump the walls .

No not at all. We had a wonderful time at Tailors Cottage. The scenery around the area was beutiful. The owners were really friendly and acomodating. If I did have one minor complaint it would be having a public toilet for the pub directly outside our front door. Having said that the Happy Union Inn is not open until 8pm and the regulars must have been asked to consider us in the cottage as it didn't really bother us. If you want a really quiet place to stay for a friendly peaceful holiday Tailors Cottage is the one. We Will Be Going Back........

The hosts and the property were wonderful. It was entirely my fault for underestimating how inland we were from the coast. We enjoy holidays near the sea and I thought 34 miles inland from Aberyswyth was ok but the roads in order to get to coastal resorts were very twisty and what was 34 miles felt like 134. I did realize that I had booked the wrong location a while ago but the property was very good for our needs accommodation wise. .

Gorgeous cottage with huge garden that was great for 4 kids and a dog. Beautiful secluded peaceful location and great hosts. Wonderful.
