The Sheepfold Reviews

Lovely place, just the job to unwind after a stressful time. Welcome pack was very thoughtful and welcome, by us and the pooches. In spite of the weather we made the most of the hot tub, day and night. Have already recommended to others and hope to be back. Very well equipped with everything you can possibly need.
We had a wonderful stay in the lodge. Well enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub whilst looking at the Red kites flying above our heads.
The lodge was beautiful, setting was stunning perfect location. Our only criticism is the flooring was sharp in places and stuck down with gaffer tape perhaps needs to consider new flooring.
Absolutely fantastic accommodation. Took our breath away when we arrived. Lovely welcome hamper along with prosecco and towels. Spotlessly clean with lots of added extras. Beds very comfy. Amazing hot tub with brilliant enclosed garden for our dogs. We are just looking to book again for next year ! Highly recommend. This was a surprise for my husband's 60th Birthday and we couldn't have wished for more.
Susanna
This beautiful place is one of four dwellings. Each with a fenced garden for peace of mind if you have a dog. After a busy day exploring beautiful Wales The Sheepfold provided us with the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside the hot tub helps The modern design provides a beautiful aspect to your morning cuppa.
Rebecca
We had an absolutely fantastic stay! The facilities are excellent and really well equipped! Beautiful views, lovely hot tub. Perfect place to stay especially having a toddler with us. We hope to come back! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
Our second visit to the Elan valley Welsh, and we will be back again in the future. Really well appointed accommodation and well maintained. Lots of places to visit nearby. Laying in the hot tub watching the Red Kites looking for their breakfast and dinner was a treat. Fully enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The owner Sally was lovely and so helpful without being intrusive. The lake at Llandrindod Wells is a must visit for dog owners, as is the Coach House cafe nearby dog friendly. Will be back next year.
Our 2nd stay here & its so lovely. Its clean, well finished, comfy & cosy! Enclosed garden is great for the dog & kids, although fences are small, my medium sized staffy couldn't look over, however he could shove his head through the spaces at the top of the gate, neighbouring next doors garden. Hot tub is a bonus, perfect after a day's rambling around Elan Valley! The owners have thought of everything, even down to leaving dishwasher& laundry tabs, small vacuum which was great with the kids & dog in & out of the garden every 2 minutes & a flash mop! The welcome basket is a lovely touch too. Its our happy place & already can't wait to book again.
Caroline
Absolutely perfect holiday lodge and surroundings. Very clean, modern and everything to hand. Owners are easily contactable and more than happy to help with anything. We will be booking again next year! Thank you
Lesley
Just perfect in every way, children loved the large garden, as did our dogs, fully secure. Hot tub was great fun for the children. Lodge was perfection. We will return there.
Claire
They need a heated towel rail or at least a clothes rail. No where to dry towels, so used wet towels all week as just couldnt get them dry. Should provide some cleaning products too. But other than that, nice lodge, fairly clean considering its dog friendly, great location and good value for money
Lauren
Immaculate property, with beautiful views. We had the most relaxing time. Thank you
Kellyanne
Absolutely stunning from start to finish. We arrived on Saturday 10th May for a week and when we arrived we were blown away with the stunning views and accommodation, it was absolutely tranquil and beautifully decorated inside. The accommodation was so well equipped and carefully thought out, just perfect, even a welcome pack including Prosecco, crisps and dog treats. The garden was so pet friendly as even the little ones couldnt escape so helped towards relaxing and admiring the stunning views. The Hot Tub was also absolutely stunning, even at night as it had beautiful lights in it. The owner Sally was also a lovely lady and very professional who came every other day to attend to the hot tub, and even had lovely chats with us, and always asked was everything ok. Overall there was no negative whatsoever with this accommodation it was the most perfect and beautiful we have ever stayed in our own country and we are definitely returning next year and every year hopefully. Thank you so much to Sally for making our stay absolutely perfect and all your finishing touches. So difficult to find any faults whatsoever
Louise
We stayed at the Elan Valley Welsh from 5th 9th May. The property was so clean and well kept and the garden had a great space for the dogs to enjoy the fresh air all day! The views were a dream whether enjoying time in the hot tub with a prosecco or having a morning coffee inside or outside on the patio. Kitchen facilities were fab and the shower and absolute delight after being in the sun. Thank you so much for the welcome basket the doggos and us humans were very happy with our treats! Only teeny bit of feedback I could give was the hot tub didnt stay clean for the last 4th day we did spend hours a day in there, maybe a few cleaning tabs to hand for us to drop in the filter over night would have been good. Overall the most amazing stay there was even privacy whilst having the property grass mowed by a self driven mower! Thank you so much and we will definitely be back again!
Lovely property, well equipped, very dog friendly, and in a gorgeous part of the world!
Fabulous lodge in a great location. Hot tub was a big positive with two teenage daughters! Would and already have recommended to friends and family.
Joanne
Lovely clean place to stay Dogs loved the garden to play in Very peaceful
We had a lovely 7 night stay! The views were amazing. With us staying for a full week we brought a weeks worth of food with us, we werent aware how small the freezer space was. The owners were happy to accommodate us with another small freezer to solve our issue. We took the dogs to Rock Park and Elan Valley, we even drove around to look at all the amazing views. The garden was a perfect space for the dogs to run around and they even enjoyed sitting out there enjoying the views themselves. The only issue we ran into was our dogs and next doors dog having a barking match over the fence with it being a low fence. If your dogs dont react to other dogs or people then Im sure this wouldnt be an issue. They did get used to each other after a couple of days thankfully. With the fence being low, there also wasnt as much privacy, it was a little awkward being able to see next door sitting in their jacuzzi whilst we played with our dogs in the garden. Other than that the place was perfect, we really enjoyed our stay. The owners were lovely and very accommodating for our needs!
Rebecca
A stunning chilled out lodge! Amazing views, amazing facilities and just everything you need for a break! Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and space to run around. We would certainly recommend this place and will be coming back!!
Outstanding premises very well thought out & equipped. A quiet area with some decent views & an ideal base to explore all parts of Wales with a bit of driving. The hot tub ends a busy day wonderfully too! This is how it should be done...
Firstly, a wonderful accommodation with spectacular views
Jonathan
Fantastic design, inside and out, in a beautiful setting overlooking open fields with rolling hills all around. Fantastic hot tub. Equipped perfectly. We hope to be back!
Tiffany
Lovely property, very clean and has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday.
Sophie
Lovely location and the lodge itself was wonderful. As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only negative I would say is that perhaps the window cleaner could come around during change over rather than while guests are there. It was a slight intrusion of privacy, otherwise a lovely stay
Joanna
Absolutely lovely lodge with everything you would need even washerdryer. Spotlessly clean. Fully enclosed garden which was perfect for our 2 terriers they loved it. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and views so peaceful and relaxing. Would highly recommend.
Bradley
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Elan Valley Welsh and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The cleanliness of the accommodation was impeccable, with every corner shining and spotless. The maintenance of the property was topnotch, showcasing a high level of care and attention to detail. One of the highlights of my stay was the amazing hot tub. It was the perfect way to unwind and relax after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. The hot tub was wellmaintained and provided a luxurious experience that added an extra level of comfort to my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the great wifi connection at Elan Valley Welsh. When you book somewhere that is as remote as The Sheepfold you expect a very slow WiFi speed, however this was not the case. Whether I needed to catch up on socials or simply stream my favorite movies, the wifi never let me down, allowing me to stay connected throughout my stay. The views from the property were truly breathtaking. Waking up to the sunrise shining over the Welsh countryside was a treat for the senses, especially when you can take these views in from the hot tub. Overall, my experience at the Elan Valley Welsh was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of great cleanliness, excellent maintenance, an amazing hot tub, reliable wifi, and stunning views made for a perfect getaway. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat in the heart of the Welsh countryside
Despite the weather rain, hail, snow, sun! , we had a glorious stay. The pros stunning views, beautifully peaceful, a welcome pack that included treats for the dogs, separate towels for hot tub provided, the mattresses and bedding were high quality and so comfy, comfy furniture, decent glasses, dishwasher and washerdryer with pods provided, hot tub was divine, good size entry mat for those muddy paws!, full smart TV, all fixtures and fittings were clearly well thought out and high quality, as its on the end nobody can see you in the hot tub. The cons only 2 tea bags and 2 sachets of coffee provided picky I know, but Ive stayed at cheaper places that provide more, not suitable for all dogs stock fencing to the side entrance would not be secure for small dogs although you could easily put something across this, fencing height is very low prob 3ft if that and this means large dogs can see each other over the fence, it also means you can see the people next door if youre in the garden some bamboo screening between the properties would improve privacy and maybe taller meshtrellis on the other sides, most of the property was immaculate but the lamps were very dusty and the extractor fan a little greasy. Finally, an info pack would really help little things like rules for dogs, how to operate hot tubheating, places close by that dogs can be walked, what to do with dirty laundry at the end of the stay and recyclingrubbish. Overall a fabulous, relaxing stay and we would come back with the dogs as Elan Valley Welsh has the best position.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Sheepfold. The property had everything we would have wished for. Great TV signal and Wifi, and the hot tub was a great way to unwind at the end of the day. Watching the Red Kites swooping around looking for food was amazing. The standard of fittings at the property was first class. We will be back again in the near future.
The lodge was beautiful and had everything we could need! The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was such a lovely addition to watch the sunrise and sunset. The only thing that we wish we had was a mop as Reggie loved the garden but would run in with muddy paws and we felt awful being able to clean it. Other than that the property is perfect and we cant wait to come back.
Jaclyn
A spectacular property with equally spectacular views. Having 2 boys a washing machine was an absolute must, great finding out it was a dryer too. The hot tub was a real luxury and was used every day. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Natalie
We had a lovely time staying at the Sheep fold. It was spotlessly clean. The owner came to check on us and was very helpful and friendly. We cannot fault a thing and will definitely return in the future.
Shannon
Weve stayed here twice now and have a lovely experience each time! The owners are very kind and are always just one call away if you need anything, hot tub is amazing! We would definitely recommend this place for a lovely stay.
We booked this property very much as a lastminute 3night getaway what an excellent decision! ! The property was clean, and wellappointed, and within minutes of our arrival we were in the hot tub. Three nights of luxury followed, including lots of hot tub time and a great Sunday dinner at the local pub, and a lovely walk up to the reservoir and the dams. The owners were lovely, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and our stay a memorable and enjoyable time. The property itself is warm, stunningly beautiful and very well appointed with everything needed for a cosy stay. The highlight of our stay was to watch a beautiful Red Kite fly low and very close to the fence line looking for pray whilst we relaxed in the hot tub.
Sandesh
Clean, comfortable and excellent place to have a break. Accommodation lovely as per description . Scenery beautiful and ideal location to visit other parts of Wales. See you Soon. Thank you.
Joanna
Beautiful place, beautiful home. Everything was well thought out and was all high quality. We stayed for 3 nights and wish it was longer. Would highly recommend..we will be back !
Matthew
The property is immaculate. Everything you need for a perfect self catering holiday. The garden with the hot tub, patio area and fenced borders are ideal for us but also your dog. I worked remotely from the lodge for one day and the internet connection is great. Finally Eddie & Sally are lovely hosts.
Alister
Nothing bad to say it was all great. Lovely place to to stay in a beautiful area of wales.
Absolutely beautiful stay. The house was very cosy and pretty, and it was a relaxing visit. Little touches meant a lot and the facilities were well thought off. Our dogs also enjoyed it enclosed garden which was perfect. Hot tub was perfect! Thank you, and will visit again!
Beautiful Lodge. Amazing location surrounded by cows and sheep, and a lovely owner. We have had a wonderful time staying at this lodge. Relaxing in the hot tub after long days of walking to see the whole nights sky lit up with stars was relaxing to say the least. Really is the perfect location for exploring and stargazing. We saw the most magical thunderstorm on our final night after two hot days. The owner even recommended that we visited Elan Valley Damns which we did and it was worth it!! The owner went above and beyond! Thank you for our amazing stay!
Sheepfold is an incredible well thought out stylish find nestled in the heart of nature! A bright and airy but cosy if needed we did place to stop and get off the world for a week really allowing us all to take in the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding views. The temperamental weather across the entire week did not stop us from creating memories and coming back to the warm hot tub created the perfect ambience after hours of walking. A different kind of holiday for us as a family with our Husky x Akita but one we have all thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cosy, modern relaxing sanctuary, for all the small touches you thought of for both the adults, kids and our family dog! Making your place dog friendly allowed us to experience your beautiful space and location with our entire family!
