Cwmcelyn Reviews

Jackson
Cwmcelyn was an absolutely beautiful cottage, well maintained and very clean, beds were very comfortable, showers fantastic, kitchen was well stocked with all you would need from a kitchen. The garden was very well kept and clean. Hot tube was lovely. Honestly could not fault this holiday stay, so many beautiful sites in the surrounding area. Hope to visit again.
Judith
Very well equiped cottage in peaceful surrounding with lovely views . Warm and comforable inside with great hot tub to enjoy outside . Compared against two previous visits we found that attention to detail in cleanliness in some areas has slipped slightly nothing that could not be easily rectified e.g grill pan did not appear to have been cleaned ,oven knobs greasy ,toaster not emptied, black mould on window frames .
We loved our stay at Cwmcelyn Farm, the cottage has been converted and modernized to a very high standard. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay was found here. The hot tub was a lovely feature and really made our autumnal stay quite luxurious! I would definitely like to return some day.
Well we certainly picked a wet week to come here. We'd looked at the forecast and decided to leave our bikes at home which was sad as there's so many cycle routes up here. We made the most of the good spells between the showers though and loved the Dams, the Mountain Road, Feeding the Kites and the Judges Lodgings all worth a visit. We also rode on the Devil's Bridge railway, so there was plenty to keep us busy. The house was lovely everything provided. Only took about 15 minutes to get up into the mountains. The hot tub was wonderful and we made it in there 5 out of 7 days not bad for a pair in our 70s. The beds were comfy and the views far reaching. All in all if your wavering I would say GO FOR IT. You won't regret it.
This cottage is an absolute gem. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The views are outstanding and the wildlife are all around you, such a joy to see. The cottage has absolutely everything you need. It is cozy, comfortable, clean and the hot tub is amazing. Sian is a brilliant host, she was really understanding when we asked for a late check in, and she left us a very much appreciated welcome pack. Really needed after a long and late journey. A beautiful cottage, with everything you need in tranquil surroundings....perfect! Would definitely recommend.
Serena
A wonderful cottage in a superb location. Sian is the best host. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday a fully equipped kitchen, books, games, hot tub and the comfiest beds Ive ever slept in and as well as all that, you can see sheep in every direction!!
Amazing house, location and view. Sian the owner was very friendly and always available when we had a question. We were a party of 4 adults and two 7 year old and we all loved our 4 nights . Very quite location noone insite, rolling hill sides. And close to shops, Elam valley to see the dams and enjoy a bike ride and Gigrim farm to visit the red kites. Will definitely be going back to the house for a longer stay.
A beautiful quiet location, and an extremely comfortable property, whilst we didn't use it, the kitchen was better equipped that most homes we've been in! ! Overall no hesitation in recommending a holiday in this beautiful home from home close to the impressive Elan Valley.

Waoooooooooo. OMG We have done a few Cottages in the last 5years , twice a year , in March for our wedding anniversary and in September for our birthdays. Well Cwmcelyn Farm has gone to our Top 2 for everything. Our host Sian , gave us a Celebrity VIP welcome , we had balloons, birthday banners and a bottle of wine to relax after a long 4 hours drive . Fantastic hospitality and super clean cottage. We were left alone to our holidays , but she ways a phone away . Cwmcelyn Farm, for us , was home away from home we don't do hotel rooms with all conveniences plus A HOT TUB. It was all we wanted , PEACEFUL, NATURE , SHEEP

Had a lovely stay here for a week. The cottage has everything you need and the views are stunning. Sian, the owner made us very welcome and was there to hand over the key and show us round. Cwmcelyn is situated along a private track, away from the road, so is very isolated and tranquil. At night the dark skies show twinkling stars and beautiful moons. The Hot tub is a welcoming bonus after a day of adventures. It is an excellent base from which to explore the area.
Elizabeth
An exceptionally well furnished & clean property with delightful views over wooded farmland out to the mountains. Delightful wildlife in the garden & surrounding fields including fly catchers, redstarts & tawny owls. Well positioned to explore mid Wales, especially Elan Valley with opportunities to cycle, walk & pony trek. Wonderful 6 person hot tub on south facing decking is perfect.
We had a lovely week. Beautiful farmhouse with everything you need. Wonderful big hot tub which we took full advantage of. Area is beautiful watching red kites from the hot tub
The cottage had everything you needed and was like home from home. It was warm, comfortable and peaceful. We had easy access to go to places to walk and loved coming back to the hot tub in fact it was used morning and evening, it was that great! . The welcome pack was fabulous and really appreciated, as it started our holiday on a good impression. We had a lovely stay with wonderful views which really relaxed us. We would stay again.

It is clear a lot of time, energy and of course money, has been exerted and used in making this Cottage a delightful family retreat. We have no complaints at all. As a family, we have not been away for a while and this is exactly what we needed. Everyone what thoroughly enjoyed the privacy, tranquility, quiet and of course the hot tub! Thanks to the host for the refreshments, much welcome after arriving from a long drive.

Hidden Treasure! Our family have had one week holiday, and we loved every second. The farmhouse has everything you need. The cottage is spotless, extremely well equipped with the comfortable beds, and its been very relaxing time sitting on the patio with glass of cold drinks and watching beautiful views and later jump in the hot tub. Many thanks to Sian and family for making our stay comfortable and in our arrival we have been spoiled with bottle of wine, coffee, tea, and local Welsh biscuits and chocolate cake! Thank you very much for your hospitality, and we will back soon! With kind regards Gunta and family
Suzanne
The farmhouse was of the highest standard and was surrounded by superb views with Red Kite's flying over on a regular basis. There was a fabulous large hot tub enjoyed by all especially the kids. Would definitely visit again
The standard of presentation and cleanliness of the property are excellent, with everything we could possibly need having been thought of and catered for. The location is remote and tranquil, yet convenient for visiting the attractions in the local area, and the stunning views were breathtaking. The garden area, swings and slide were a big hit with the little ones and really added to the enjoyment of the holiday, as did the hot tub. Sian was an excellent host, the Welsh treats and advice were really appreciated. We had a wonderful week and would certainly stay here again.
The property and area are perfect very peaceful and beautiful. Lovely inside and out and the sheltered hot tub is grand. We had the perfect week here and didn't want to leave. We'll definitely be returning.
Stephen
Lovely place . Great privacy .
Lovely cottage and hot tub. Beautiful scenery with added lambs and rabbits. Ev charging point a definite advantage .
Lovely well maintained property. Had everything you could have needed. Sian was fantastic, really helpful. Location is beautiful. Nice and secluded. Saw red kites most days at the property flying over to the local feeding station. Would definitely go back.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at this lovely holiday cottage, situated on a working sheep farm. Sian, the hostowner, was clearly deeply invested in doing everything she possibly could to ensure that we had a good holiday. We received a welcome pack on arrival, complimentary toiletries, and the hot tub was ready to jump into. There was a lot of attention to detail. We particularly liked that there was bird food provided to top up the garden feeders the very tame robins liked that very much too! The views from the cottage are beautiful and looked magical after snow fell for two days. We couldn't have wished for a better place to hunker down. Sian reached out to ensure we were ok when it turned wintery and to let us know that we only needed to reach out to her if we needed anything. The local red kite feeding station at Rhayader was a fantastic experience, and the Elan Valley walks start within a 10minute drive of the property. It is a fantastic base for exploring that area of Wales. We look forward to returning.
Wow! what can I say this place is a little gem! We met Sian at the property who is lovely and showed us around the place. The cottage is beautiful it has absolutely everything you need and was spotlessly clean. The beds are so comfy did not want to get out of it in the morning, views amazing, hot tub was amazing, we had two BBQs during our time there even though it was December it was fab! and my boys were delighted there was a football goal in the garden. Shopsrestaurantscafes are a five minutes drive away loads to things to do locally. We will definitely return to this place this year at some point and are really looking forward to it.
Robert
The property is well equipped in the kitchen even cleaning products etc. Beautiful cosy homely feel. There was a bbq outside, play area for the children. Hot tub was a plus after our day trips out. Warmly welcome by the owner. Already recommended to family & friends.

Manisha

Samantha
We had a fabulous long weekend and cant recommend enough. Sian was just so lovely and the house is amazing in the most beautiful location. A perfect base for exploring the area. Then coming back to the fab hot tub. We cant wait to book again soon.
Hayley
A very warm welcome from the host Sian. Explained everything fully about the house so we knew how to use things straight away. Well equipped kitchen and lovely local products in the welcome pack. As a group of 6 adults I think the house would be more suited to 45 adults or a family with children. Great base for nearby nature attractions. The hot tub was the best I've used so far. Overall a great holiday.
Jessica
We had an amazing stay Nov 2021 at Cwmcelyn location is stunning and Sian is a fabulous host! Property was spotless, views were incredible and location was great. We came for a break away as a couple and enjoyed cycling Elan Valley is a must! Sian gives great recommendations for cycling and walking routes, as well things to see and places to go. Hot tub was brilliant! Couldnt recommend more, thank you Sian and family!
Maggie
Spotless, well equipped, comfortable beds and very very CLEAN. Beautiful location and well worth the stay. Would definitely recommend
The house and views are beautiful. The bed we stayed in was so comfortable, the perfect holiday. Already booked to return!
A lovely cottage in a private setting and with stunning views. We couldn't have asked for more.
Sian, the cottage owner was lovely and extremely helpful. Have stayed at cottage before and always had a lovely experience. Only one minor issue I and my sister found the pillows on our beds very firm and not very comfortable but that is a matter of personal taste.
