We were warmly welcomed and shown around Ashdale by our friendly host Garth. We knew immediately that we would be very happy staying here. A lot of care and attention by Sian and Gareth in preparing and maintaining the property is obvious the moment you enter. All the rooms are spotlessly clean, the upholstery and beds are very comfortable and all the linens are fresh and crisp. The kitchen has everything you may need with lots of little extras. The treats basket was a nice touch. Outdoor area is spacious with good furnishings. All this set in a serene environment with stunning views from all windows. Would love to stay here again one day.

We had a wonderful stay at Ashdale. The quality of the home was excellentbeautifully maintained, very comfortable and with everything essential we needed. The countryside views were stunning, and the children loved watching the sheep and cows. My 71yearold mum and two young children all enjoyed the stay. We had a fantastic family holiday here! The house was immaculately clean and spotless, I honestly couldnt find any fault at all. It was peaceful, quiet, calm and so relaxing, with everything we needed available. The teenagers loved it so much, especially being surrounded by beautiful nature and beautiful scenery. We all fell in love with this place and would highly recommend it. We would definitely come back again! The landlord was very welcoming and accommodating, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and everything was okay. A truly wonderful and memorable family stay!

We had a great holiday at Ashdale with everything we needed as well as a very thoughtful hamper and milk in the fridge, Thank you Gareth and Sian for such a lovely holiday. There are some good pubs in Rhyayader and we enjoyed cycling from Rhayader to Elan valley on the cycle path and all the beautiful places around. I would recommend the accommodation to anyone who loves being in the countryside and is happy to travel a couple miles extra for the peace and quiet and beauty.

We spent a week at Ashley and we all fell in love with this place from day one. Although we are not new at leaving in the countryside, this was literally a paradise. Surrounded by quiet and green, watching birds and swallows flying every moment, breathing pure nature every second was absolutely marvellous. Plus, the cottage is cute, spacious and offers all commodities you need. The position also is strategical to travel around Wales, being half an hour far from many nice places and just an hour from seaside. The owner then is so kind and available for any question. He let me also charge my EV car at the house with my granny charge cable.

Ashdale is a fantastic, spacious bungalow in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful and quiet. Bungalow is very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. The property is extremely clean. There was soap and washing up liquid provided if needed. The owners had thoughtfully left a welcome pack and fresh milk ... this was very much appreciated after a long drive. There is plenty of outside space and furniture to enjoy the tranquillity. It is a working farm, so occasional farm vehicles pass the property. The owners, Gareth & and Sian, are nearby at the farmhouse and happy to help with anything . They are very welcoming. We had lovely chats with Gareth. It was good to learn more about farming life. Thoroughly enjoyed our break touring around the area, Elan Valley etc. Lamb and Flag OK for food in Rhayader and the cafe , Lost Arc is really good. We recommend this holiday let and hope to visit again.

Beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage, set in glorious countryside. The hosts Gareth and Sian were excellent, friendly and always on hand if needed. We felt at home in the cottage, but also so far away from our busy town life...the serenity of the countryside and views did us all a power of good. Ideally located for villages, towns, pubs, restaurants, the amazing Elan Valley, Hafren Forrest and the coast.

The farm is one of the cleanest and happy animals farms that we have stayed on. The views are amazing and it was lovely seeing all the cows and calves and sheep and lambs. Wow what a find. A beautiful cottage nestled in the rolling hills with breathtaking views. The cottage was very clean and comfortable a credit to the owners, equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the basket of treats was very thoughtful. To wake up in the morning to the beautiful views and the lambs in the field to the amazing evening sunsets was just perfect. Ashdale is a great base to tour mid Wales from the Elan Valley, the Hafren forest and even shopping in the quaint town Newtown. We had a fantastic restful break and will definitely be returning . Absolutely amazing week away spent at Ashdale. This place is PERFECT for a week to reset. Peaceful location, surrounded by hills and fields. The owners were the friendliest owners we have encountered and despite a few issues with hot water and heating totally not their fault these things happen, were SUPER quick to respond and have a plumber out within an hour!! It was so lovely to wake up to sheep in the field each morning. Despite the weather being against us most of the week, we loved every minute. We are already talking about going back hopefully when there is nicer weather. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage and being such great hosts! We look forward to returning again in the future!

This cottage is the BEST cottage we have been to in nearly 10 years holidaying through Sykes. In the winter we live something cosy and warm. Something modern and comfy. This was all we wanted. We've been to good places before but this one is by far the best! The cottage itself is beautiful with well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds and couches and charming electric fire places. The cottage is tastefully furnished and both feels and smells very clean and fresh throughout. Every thought has gone into thinking how guests can enjoy every detail. The cottage is situated on a pretty farm which is lovely to see and watch. Every single window has stunning views, whichever way you look. Gareth was on hand for anything we needed at all times and very friendly. He just wanted us to enjoy our stay and was so welcoming. We will definitely be back at this best cottage!

From the moment we drove up to the property and were met by Gareth, we knew we had made the right choice. Gareth is so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Ashdale is stunning. A brilliant weekend away spent in a lovely cottage with beautiful views. The cottage was a home away from home...well equipped, comfy and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They left a very generous welcome pack of milk, Welsh cakes and chocolate. There were plenty of teabags and sugar sachets as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We can see ourselves returning in the not so distant future!

We had a really lovely week at Ashdale. The views from every window are amazing. The bungalow was extremely clean and comfortable and we felt right at home as soon as we pulled up. We only met Gareth and the dogs but he was very friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive, neither were the dogs! We hope to visit again in the near future as there is still a lot of exploring around the area to be done.

We stayed at Ashdale Holiday Home in July 2025, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The projector setup in the living room gave a real cinema feel perfect for cozy movies. We especially appreciated the welcome basket and the detailed local guide the host provided. The landscape is stunning, the photos cant do it justice. We saw lots of wildlife, deer, birds of prey, perhaps 50 species of bird overall, rabbits. It was delightful. If its hot bring some fans. The cushion wicker chairs outside have been replaced by a wooden bench table. Gareth, the farmer, is very attentive. He kindly helped us out when we were delayed arriving. Although the property feels remote it is very quick and easy to get to from the main road.

The cottage is set in a peaceful location with fantastic views. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, and Gareth was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I had a lovely time and would definitely love to come back!

Spent a great week in this accommodation. Everything you would need is there and presented in a modern and extremely clean and tidy environment. The bungalow stands at the end of a track within a working farm but the goings on were rarely intrusive. It was quite entertaining to watch the cows in the fields and the rabbits eating daisies on the lawn. If you are looking for peace, quiet and tranquility in exceptionally beautiful surroundings, I would highly recommend. The town of Rhayader is a 15 minute drive away with a well stocked Coop, a pub or two and some coffee shops. There are lots of walking opportunities right next to the bungalow as the Glydwrs Way long distance track is very close by and Rhayader is a walking centre. Elan Valley lakes are also within 25 minute drive . If you're into night sky photography, there are great opportunities for this as the area is a complete dark sky spot. All this with a friendly and amenable host who went out of his way to ensure everything was okay.

The cleanliness of the property is superb and it smells amazing as you walk in. Beds are so comfy and the reclining arm chairs are great for relaxing and taking in the views after a busy day. Owners are brilliant. Always on hand if required and really welcoming on arrival. With the rolling hills and abundance of wildlife all around I think we could have stayed for good. Hopefully we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet, secluded working farm which we felt was perfect for a relaxing break. Sitting on the patio on warm evenings enjoying a drink aqnd looking at the uninterupted view across the valley, as the sun went down was a real pleasure. During the day we drove to the Elan Valley and walked from the visitors centre, an idyll sport for walking. The farmer was friendly and helpful. We hope to return at some point.
