We had a great holiday at Ashdale with everything we needed as well as a very thoughtful hamper and milk in the fridge, Thank you Gareth and Sian for such a lovely holiday. It was lovely to meet you Gareth. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the views are amazing. We enjoyed having our meals on the veranda and relaxing to the views. There are some good pubs in Rhyayader and we enjoyed cycling from Rhayader to Elan valley on the cycle path and all the beautiful places around. I would recommend the accommodation to anyone who loves being in the countryside and is happy to travel a couple miles extra for the peace and quiet and beauty.

Ashdale is a fantastic, spacious bungalow in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful and quiet. Bungalow is very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. The property is extremely clean. There was soap and washing up liquid provided if needed. The owners had thoughtfully left a welcome pack and fresh milk ... this was very much appreciated after a long drive. There is plenty of outside space and furniture to enjoy the tranquillity. It is a working farm, so occasional farm vehicles pass the property. The owners, Gareth & and Sian, are nearby at the farmhouse and happy to help with anything . They are very welcoming. We had lovely chats with Gareth. It was good to learn more about farming life. Thoroughly enjoyed our break touring around the area, Elan Valley etc. Lamb and Flag OK for food in Rhayader and the cafe , Lost Arc is really good. We recommend this holiday let and hope to visit again.

Great unspoilt location, brilliant views, and a real home from home feel, with all you need in the kitchen. Good hosts, helping out with any questions and we loved watching the birds everyday. Elan Valley is close by and has spectacular views. Overall Ashdale is an ideal holiday home to have a peaceful break.

Beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage, set in glorious countryside. The hosts Gareth and Sian were excellent, friendly and always on hand if needed. We felt at home in the cottage, but also so far away from our busy town life...the serenity of the countryside and views did us all a power of good. Ideally located for villages, towns, pubs, restaurants, the amazing Elan Valley, Hafren Forrest and the coast.

Our stay at Ashdale was wonderful the property is lovely and clean the views are brilliant and the host are always helpful and on hand if you have any problems. We have stayed at Ashdale a few times now and enjoy every visit and will return again wonderful place and hosts.

We had a lovely weekend at Ashdale cottage,it was very clean very comfortable and the hosts Gareth and Silan and family were lovely. The farm is one of the cleanest and happy animals farms that we have stayed on. The views are amazing and it was lovely seeing all the cows and calves and sheep and lambs. Gareth met us on arrival and helped us with the bags and on entering the cottage we were grateful to see a lovely welcome gift. Were definitely going to be going to the holiday cottage again

Wow what a find. A beautiful cottage nestled in the rolling hills with breathtaking views. The cottage was very clean and comfortable a credit to the owners, equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming and the basket of treats was very thoughtful. To wake up in the morning to the beautiful views and the lambs in the field to the amazing evening sunsets was just perfect. Ashdale is a great base to tour mid Wales from the Elan Valley, the Hafren forest and even shopping in the quaint town Newtown. We had a fantastic restful break and will definitely be returning . Absolutely amazing week away spent at Ashdale. This place is PERFECT for a week to reset. Peaceful location, surrounded by hills and fields. The owners were the friendliest owners we have encountered and despite a few issues with hot water and heating totally not their fault these things happen, were SUPER quick to respond and have a plumber out within an hour!! It was so lovely to wake up to sheep in the field each morning. Despite the weather being against us most of the week, we loved every minute. We are already talking about going back hopefully when there is nicer weather. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage and being such great hosts! We look forward to returning again in the future!

This cottage is the BEST cottage we have been to in nearly 10 years holidaying through Sykes. In the winter we live something cosy and warm. Something modern and comfy. This was all we wanted. We've been to good places before but this one is by far the best! The cottage itself is beautiful with well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds and couches and charming electric fire places. The cottage is tastefully furnished and both feels and smells very clean and fresh throughout. Every thought has gone into thinking how guests can enjoy every detail. The cottage is situated on a pretty farm which is lovely to see and watch. Every single window has stunning views, whichever way you look. Gareth was on hand for anything we needed at all times and very friendly. He just wanted us to enjoy our stay and was so welcoming. We will definitely be back at this best cottage!

A great location in quiet wales countryside. Surrounded by hills, kites and sheep. The accommodation is amazing, just as listed with plenty of space to split up if you need a little time alone. We had a showery autumnal weekend, but there was plenty of heating, and hot water as required after our morning walks. Great hosts with advice of walks and local knowledge. From the moment we drove up to the property and were met by Gareth, we knew we had made the right choice. Gareth is so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Ashdale is stunning. From the wonderful views to the comfort and cleanliness and the wonderful welcome basket. All faultless. Anyone concerned about it being on a 'working farm' rest assured it is not intrusive. A brilliant weekend away spent in a lovely cottage with beautiful views. The cottage was a home away from home...well equipped, comfy and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They left a very generous welcome pack of milk, Welsh cakes and chocolate. There were plenty of teabags and sugar sachets as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We can see ourselves returning in the not so distant future!

We had a really lovely week at Ashdale. The views from every window are amazing. The bungalow was extremely clean and comfortable and we felt right at home as soon as we pulled up. We only met Gareth and the dogs but he was very friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive, neither were the dogs! We hope to visit again in the near future as there is still a lot of exploring around the area to be done.

We stayed at Ashdale Holiday Home in July 2025, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The projector setup in the living room gave a real cinema feel perfect for cozy movies. We especially appreciated the welcome basket and the detailed local guide the host provided. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay, making everything smooth and stressfree. Highly recommend ashdale Holiday Home for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxing getaway. The landscape is stunning, the photos cant do it justice. We saw lots of wildlife, deer, birds of prey, perhaps 50 species of bird overall, rabbits. It was delightful. If its hot bring some fans. The cushion wicker chairs outside have been replaced by a wooden bench table. Gareth, the farmer, is very attentive. He kindly helped us out when we were delayed arriving. Although the property feels remote it is very quick and easy to get to from the main road.

The cottage is set in a peaceful location with fantastic views. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, and Gareth was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I had a lovely time and would definitely love to come back!

Spent a great week in this accommodation. Everything you would need is there and presented in a modern and extremely clean and tidy environment. The bungalow stands at the end of a track within a working farm but the goings on were rarely intrusive. It was quite entertaining to watch the cows in the fields and the rabbits eating daisies on the lawn. If you are looking for peace, quiet and tranquility in exceptionally beautiful surroundings, I would highly recommend. The town of Rhayader is a 15 minute drive away with a well stocked Coop, a pub or two and some coffee shops. There are lots of walking opportunities right next to the bungalow as the Glydwrs Way long distance track is very close by and Rhayader is a walking centre. Elan Valley lakes are also within 25 minute drive . If you're into night sky photography, there are great opportunities for this as the area is a complete dark sky spot. All this with a friendly and amenable host who went out of his way to ensure everything was okay.

Absolutely the best property we have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need and the welcome basket is such a lovely touch. The cleanliness of the property is superb and it smells amazing as you walk in. Beds are so comfy and the reclining arm chairs are great for relaxing and taking in the views after a busy day. Owners are brilliant. Always on hand if required and really welcoming on arrival. With the rolling hills and abundance of wildlife all around I think we could have stayed for good. Hopefully we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet, secluded working farm which we felt was perfect for a relaxing break. Sitting on the patio on warm evenings enjoying a drink aqnd looking at the uninterupted view across the valley, as the sun went down was a real pleasure. During the day we drove to the Elan Valley and walked from the visitors centre, an idyll sport for walking. The farmer was friendly and helpful. We hope to return at some point.

Beautiful remote location and stunning views. Interior of the home was modern and cosy and very well equipped! There were little details that we really appreciated welcome basket full of snacks and drinks, milk in the fridge, Blankets and LED candles. TV set up so you can log into your own Netflix, Disney, prime ect. Host very friendly and welcoming. Views out onto the farm where we saw many lambs! You are only about 30min drive from both hafren forest & Elan valley. Elan valley is beautifully scenic with peaks and reservoirs, and theres highland cows! Bonus. All around this area is a great spot for wildlife, we saw many red kites and buzzards and a few deer. Theres a nearby nature reserve called Gilfach which is only around 15 mins away. A lovely walk through a valley along a river, we were lucky enough to find a frog mating spot along the river! First time in this part of midwales and we loved it. We will definitely be returning to this area.

Wow what can we say! It was an amazing week away, beautiful home beautiful surroundings. I will certainly be going back to Ashdaie again.
