Very happy with stay and accommodation and the host are brilliant always happy and helpful and property is always spotless.

Absolutely amazing week away spent at Ashdale. This place is PERFECT for a week to reset. Peaceful location, surrounded by hills and fields. The owners were the friendliest owners we have encountered and despite a few issues with hot water and heating totally not their fault these things happen, were SUPER quick to respond and have a plumber out within an hour!! It was so lovely to wake up to sheep in the field each morning. Despite the weather being against us most of the week, we loved every minute. We are already talking about going back hopefully when there is nicer weather. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage and being such great hosts! We look forward to returning again in the future!

This cottage is the BEST cottage we have been to in nearly 10 years holidaying through Sykes. In the winter we live something cosy and warm. Something modern and comfy. This was all we wanted. We've been to good places before but this one is by far the best! The cottage itself is beautiful with well equipped kitchen, super comfy beds and couches and charming electric fire places. The cottage is tastefully furnished and both feels and smells very clean and fresh throughout. Every thought has gone into thinking how guests can enjoy every detail. The cottage is situated on a pretty farm which is lovely to see and watch. Every single window has stunning views, whichever way you look. Gareth was on hand for anything we needed at all times and very friendly. He just wanted us to enjoy our stay and was so welcoming. We will definitely be back at this best cottage!

A great location in quiet wales countryside. Surrounded by hills, kites and sheep. The accommodation is amazing, just as listed with plenty of space to split up if you need a little time alone. We had a showery autumnal weekend, but there was plenty of heating, and hot water as required after our morning walks. Great hosts with advice of walks and local knowledge. Kitchen well equipped if you are cooking as we did. We look forward to returning one day. From the moment we drove up to the property and were met by Gareth, we knew we had made the right choice. Gareth is so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Ashdale is stunning. From the wonderful views to the comfort and cleanliness and the wonderful welcome basket. All faultless. Anyone concerned about it being on a 'working farm' rest assured it is not intrusive. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful break and would add that a week is not long enough!

A brilliant weekend away spent in a lovely cottage with beautiful views. The cottage was a home away from home...well equipped, comfy and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They left a very generous welcome pack of milk, Welsh cakes and chocolate. There were plenty of teabags and sugar sachets as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We can see ourselves returning in the not so distant future!

We had a really lovely week at Ashdale. The views from every window are amazing. The bungalow was extremely clean and comfortable and we felt right at home as soon as we pulled up. We only met Gareth and the dogs but he was very friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive, neither were the dogs! We hope to visit again in the near future as there is still a lot of exploring around the area to be done.

We absolutely loved our stay in Ashdale. It is spacious, perfectly clean, beautiful views, and really peaceful. You have around you just sheep and cows. Gareth was an amazing host. Whatever we needed, it was just a quick call or message to him and he was right there by us to help us. He also provided us with a list of places to visit which was very helpful. We stayed at Ashdale Holiday Home in July 2025, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The projector setup in the living room gave a real cinema feel perfect for cozy movies. We especially appreciated the welcome basket and the detailed local guide the host provided. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay, making everything smooth and stressfree. Highly recommend ashdale Holiday Home for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxing getaway. The landscape is stunning, the photos cant do it justice. We saw lots of wildlife, deer, birds of prey, perhaps 50 species of bird overall, rabbits. It was delightful. If its hot bring some fans. The cushion wicker chairs outside have been replaced by a wooden bench table. Gareth, the farmer, is very attentive. He kindly helped us out when we were delayed arriving. Although the property feels remote it is very quick and easy to get to from the main road.

The cottage is set in a peaceful location with fantastic views. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable, and Gareth was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I had a lovely time and would definitely love to come back!

Spent a great week in this accommodation. Everything you would need is there and presented in a modern and extremely clean and tidy environment. The bungalow stands at the end of a track within a working farm but the goings on were rarely intrusive. It was quite entertaining to watch the cows in the fields and the rabbits eating daisies on the lawn. If you are looking for peace, quiet and tranquility in exceptionally beautiful surroundings, I would highly recommend. The town of Rhayader is a 15 minute drive away with a well stocked Coop, a pub or two and some coffee shops. There are lots of walking opportunities right next to the bungalow as the Glydwrs Way long distance track is very close by and Rhayader is a walking centre. Elan Valley lakes are also within 25 minute drive . If you're into night sky photography, there are great opportunities for this as the area is a complete dark sky spot. All this with a friendly and amenable host who went out of his way to ensure everything was okay.

Absolutely the best property we have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need and the welcome basket is such a lovely touch. The cleanliness of the property is superb and it smells amazing as you walk in. Beds are so comfy and the reclining arm chairs are great for relaxing and taking in the views after a busy day. Owners are brilliant. Always on hand if required and really welcoming on arrival. With the rolling hills and abundance of wildlife all around I think we could have stayed for good. Hopefully we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quiet, secluded working farm which we felt was perfect for a relaxing break. Sitting on the patio on warm evenings enjoying a drink aqnd looking at the uninterupted view across the valley, as the sun went down was a real pleasure. During the day we drove to the Elan Valley and walked from the visitors centre, an idyll sport for walking. The farmer was friendly and helpful. We hope to return at some point.

Beautiful remote location and stunning views. Interior of the home was modern and cosy and very well equipped! There were little details that we really appreciated welcome basket full of snacks and drinks, milk in the fridge, Blankets and LED candles. TV set up so you can log into your own Netflix, Disney, prime ect. Host very friendly and welcoming. Views out onto the farm where we saw many lambs! You are only about 30min drive from both hafren forest & Elan valley. Elan valley is beautifully scenic with peaks and reservoirs, and theres highland cows! Bonus. All around this area is a great spot for wildlife, we saw many red kites and buzzards and a few deer. Theres a nearby nature reserve called Gilfach which is only around 15 mins away. A lovely walk through a valley along a river, we were lucky enough to find a frog mating spot along the river! First time in this part of midwales and we loved it. We will definitely be returning to this area.

Wow what can we say! It was an amazing week away, beautiful home beautiful surroundings. I will certainly be going back to Ashdaie again. This is a fantastic property in a stunning location. The communication from the owners was first class and although the property is in quite a remote setting, on a working farm, the owners are on site nearby should you ever need anything. But from our experience, the property had been set up thoughtfully and had everything we needed. There are two lounge areas with TVs, ideal for when kids and adults want separate spaces to relax after a busy day out exploring. The bedrooms were comfortable and everywhere was immaculately clean. There is lots of outdoor space to sit and take in the amazing scenery, sunsets and stargazing. We have stayed in numerous holiday lets in Wales and elsewhere and we would rank this amongst the best we have seen. The town of Rhayader is nearby for shops, pubs, cafs etc. and we found the Elan Valley to be a real hidden gem of Wales. If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Welsh countryside, do not hesitate to book this property!
