We loved our stay at Salmon Cottage, the cottage is in a peaceful location, perfect for little children to play outside and explore. The cottage is also well positioned to explore Elan Valley and a bit further afield even, with many walks to choose from. I particularly loved the quiet at night and clear, dark skies. A big thank you to our hosts, our children say we must go back!

We had a fantastic stay at Salmon cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable. It is in lovely surroundings, hosts were very helpful especially about things to do in the area. The outside seating area was great. It was a lovely peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We have no hesitation in recommending salmon cottage as a great place to stay and we cant wait to go back there.

Trout Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. A fantastic location to reconnect with nature. So many different species of birds..too many to list. For us it was fantastic. River Walks,Mountain Walks,Visits to Market Towns, Seaside Towns.. Jonathon, Chee and Freddie were the perfect hosts. We WILL be back!!!

Salmon Cottage was all we expected. A really lovely place to stay, comfy ,clean and the situation was perfect. We had the most relaxing week, we might not have caught any fish but the setting made up for it. The hosts were very helpful with recommendations of where to eat and visit. The Elan valley was beautiful. we took the long back route to to furthest point, it was worth it as the views were stunning.

Very recently total refurb of Salmon cottage to a high standard. Super modern kitchen and bathroom. Comfy beds and settees. Choice of outdoor seating. More private area for dining. We had a great time at Salmon cottage. The kids loved running around in the woods and exploring. It was a great base for the area with lots to see and do, although the weather didnt play ball during our stay and it rained most days which I had expected anyway after watching the weather predictions. The only thing that let it down and it was a small thing, the tv reception was not good with the picture breaking up a lot. Tv is so important with kids and especially if they get stuck inside due to the weather. Also the internet was really slow so there was no way to log in to my Netflix account to keep the kids amused. We noticed lots of bats in the roof space which were great to watch come and go as darkness fell and somehow one managed to find itself in the kitchen sink and nearly drowned. We dried it off and it slowly warmed up and flew off again to live another day. All in all, we loved our week away and our stay here. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality.

The warmest of welcome from the hosts. Nothing is too much trouble to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The refurbishment is stunning and the surroundings so beautiful. Such a relaxing holiday and I will be back!

Salmon Cottage was just as advertised and exactly what we wanted. The grounds are beautiful and it so lovely to be able to sit and listen to the river Wye bubbling along and to be able to walk along our own private Stretch. Its not a luxury property, but is well equipped, clean and fab for a base to explore the area and sit and enjoy the scenery when you get back. The owners were delightful, brilliant with suggesting places to visit and even providing us with presents of Runner Beans and Cucumbers. The Elan Valley and the surrounding areas, were new to us and are beautiful and totally central to so many things. It allowed us to walk in the Mountains, around Reservoirs and be able to visit places like Hay on Wye, where we hired Kayaks for the afternoon. We will certainly be back.

Lovely chalet in a fabulous setting. Rural but not isolated with other guests around. Chalet is basic but very comfortable including the bedsand provides everything you need. Owners are very helpful and friendly. Would we stay here again most definitely! Had a great week.

Property in a beautiful location on a well maintained private estate with historic art connections. Accommodation more chalet than cottage but spacious, wellequiped and with the welcome addition of wifi. Beds were very comfortable and spotless. Downsides were proximity to a busy road and a couple of cleaning issues which were resolved by the owner. In addition thought that property needs a bit of updating to include doubleglazing at least for the double bedroom.

Very good. Hosts excellent. Always nervous when hosts are on site or near on site. No issues, they wre brilliant very helpful but not intrusive in any way. We shall go there again.

The cottage was better than expected. All the equipment was of a very good standard. Although no WiFii, which we knew wasn't available, the phones connected well. The grounds were beautiful as is the surrounding area. The road running alongside one side is busy, for a Welsh road, but not intrusive. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.

Very peaceful place deep in the heart of the Welsh countryside. The locals were so friendly.

The cottage was very comfortable in a great location and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The scenery was amazing and it was lovely to look out and watch the bird visitors and wander down the track to look at the sheep on the river bank

The cottage is in a lovely position next to the river. The cottage is comfortable and the hosts made us feel very welcome. Loads to do in the area.

The listing should advise on how much fishing there actually is, for example 12 mile or 1 mile etc. On Monday we wet to Pembrookshire for the day and got back around midnight hence we had a lie in, only to be woken up at 9am by the cement mixers going. We were unable to sit out on the patio furniture by the back door as we had builders going up and down all day and they were also going past the patio doors at the front all day. We also had builders vans going back and forth all week. The patio doors looked like they had been wiped down with a dirty rag, there were dirty and chipped cups in the cupboard, a wine glass that had a crack in, the blind in the bathroom was dirty in one corner and there were cobwebs on it. The table and chairs were a mishmash as the chairs were to small and to low down for the table. There was no headboard in the double room and my husband banged his head several times and we ended up in the single beds. They expected the guests to respect their privacy in the main house but they did not respect ours walking past with the dog at all times of the day. We feel that we have not had a proper holiday due to all of the intrusions that we have had to put up with and are not happy and feeling low.
