Caesamson Reviews

We stayed here February 2026 and loved the cozy, spotlessly clean, well equipped cottage. Easy to find, the views were panoramic from the large conservatory. Lots of games and books provided for entertainment and a log fire available for cold nights. The owners were helpful and accommodated our needs. The beds and furniture were good quality and the owners thought of everything for a top quality stay. Sheep, horses, farmland views. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would return again. Wonderful.
Rachel
The property had everything we needed for a relaxing break in a peaceful and tranquil location. We was impressed with the standards and cleanliness of the property and the views were fantastic. Waking up every morning and sitting in the conservatory with a cup of tea watching the sun rise and seeing the sheep and ponies grazing was the highlight of our stay.
George
Absolutely fantastic retreat over Christmas beautiful views and tucked away from the madding crowds but close enough for travelling to attractions. Thank you
This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Caesamson we can't remember which! But we loved it as always. Our favourite part of the house is the conservatory, it's so easy to watch the weather roll through the valley every day and how it changes. I even spotted the jets doing a run of the valley on our last day, you hear them pass every so often but I don't think I've seen them before. Really enjoyed it as always, thank you to Ian and Anna for being so welcoming and accommodating! I'm sure we'll be back for another visit at some point.
Trevor
Lovely relaxing place to stay. You can't fault the property or surroundings and it's the cleanest house we have ever stayed in.
We chose Caesamson because we wanted a peaceful and totally relaxing break and to say it didnt disappoint is an understatement. The accommodations is of a very high standard and spotlessly clean, the setting idyllic that view! We absolutely loved everything about our stay, so much so that half way through the week we rebooked for next year. Thank you Anna and Ian for providing us with even more than we could have hoped for.
Gillian
Lovely house lge kitchen and lots of room and it's really quiet and restful, watching the sheep and horses. Would come back again.
We had a fabulous holiday in this beautifully located property. The views from this property and surrounding area are amazing. We could not fault the cottage in any way. Very clean and comfortable throughout. Would not hesitate to return. The weather was certainly not kind to us but did not spoil our stay. Thank you Anna & Ian
Graham

A lovely property set in beautiful surroundings with a spectacular view. Located well to explore the towns and countryside. Caesamson had all we needed for our family, it was very clean and very comfortable a true home from home.
We had a wonderful holiday at Caesamson and can thoroughly recommend. The property was exceptionally clean throughout with plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen. Easy to use oven and microwave and clear instructions regarding recycling. We enjoyed the large conservatory where we could really appreciate the amazing views. The bedrooms upstairs each with en suite were clean and the bed very comfortable. In summary, this holiday property provides clean, spacious and comfortable accommodation. Together with the peaceful location and fantastic views, it would be difficult to find better! Definitely a gem not to be missed. The surrounding views are breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable.
They were very kind and helpful. Our only suggestion is perhaps a note of places to eat locally
Jasmine
Absolutely wonderful stay. The views were incredible! Very comfortable and well equipped property, lots of cupboard storage in the kitchen which we often struggle with elsewhere. The only thing I would change would be to have a gate securing the garden as our autistic son likes to elope! But we managed
Fantastisch Huis. Alles is aanwezig. Rob
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is well presented and has all you need. We loved the conservatory taking in breathtaking views. So peaceful. Comfy beds and nice to have a bathroom each. Very special place would love to come back. Thank you.

The house was spotless and very well equipped with all that you need. The instructions were very clear for all the waste and it was lovely to have the shed by the side to put the dog waste and general household waste clearly labelled. The views were spectacular and the beds very comfy. It was so nice to have space for us all downstairs and the conservatory was a bonus as was the log burner. One thing to say would be that it would be great to have power showers upstairs in the ensuite bathrooms. Wed definitely book here again. Anna and Ian were the perfect hosts and when we had issues with the water Ian very quickly sorted it. Anna was incredibly kind and posted back clothes that my daughter had left. All in all a lovely stay and a perfect location.
Another lovely week in this clean and comfortable cottage. The conservatory is the most inviting room.comfy chairs and a view of the whole valley. Loved everything.lots of places to visit.had a day in the elan valley, another at hafren forest.another at the reservoir.llandilo is a nice old place lots of little shops and cobblers tearoom! Montgomery castle and Berriew canal walk not far away. Sure we will return,
Tracey
Beautiful cottage with stunning views. Anna and Ian have thought of everything right down to pet essentials such as towels poo bags and even treats and a lead in case you forget yours
Michelle
We loved our weeks stay at Caesamson. Everything was as described, instructions to get to the property were clear and the key was in the key safe as stated. We loved the perfect peace and quiet there, the warmth of the wood burner when it was very cold outside and in fact the comfort and warmth of the entire house. The quality of the fittings and fixtures, the plentiful kitchen equipment and the added extras that the owners had left all added to making our stay extremely comfortable. Shopping was easy as the village has a good supermarket which sells everything you need, as well as the fish and chip shop which was handy for our last night there. Also handy were the bigger supermarkets in Newtown, a bit further away. We walked by the river there, a flat easy walk with good underfoot surfaces. Ian, one of the owners, came to see that all was ok with us, such a nice guy, we enjoyed meeting him. One minor point we didnt particularly enjoy the baths in the house as we are used to showers at home now in our old age! But we made use of the shower in the utility room which although not a perfect solution, helped us. A downstairs toilet was an added benefit. The local scenery is a sight for sore eyes, its very beautiful with the rolling hills and sheep, in fact weve never seen so many sheep! We would recommend Caesamson particularly to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet but actually we would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone! We are very pleased we found it on Sykes website.
We were really comfortable there, even when the freak weather meant we were snowed in for 3 days like half of Wales. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Our main suggestion would be a blind on the 'front' door and a little bolt on the utility room door, to maintain privacy while using the shower.
Philip
Lovely holiday at Caesamson again. Peace and quiet and lovely views were all we needed for a relaxing break. Cottage was great it had all we needed and was very clean. we will probably return for a third time in the future
Geoffrey
We have no hesitation in highly recommending Caesamson for a very enjoyable holiday stay. It is extremely well equipped , comfortable , clean and cosy warm .The view is amazing , and can be greatly enjoyed from the comfort of the large heated conservatory . Location is so peaceful but not overly isolated .The village only a couple of miles away has some very well stocked shops , fuel station, chip shop , traditional butcher and even a tiny main line railway station . Many interesting places to visit and larger shopping towns are only a relatively short drive away . The owners are very pleasant and helpful and provided a welcome gift of goodies. We certainly would like to return .
Darren
We absolutely loved this property, Thank you for the wonderful welcome pack. The views were amazing, Easy to get anywhere in Wales. Will definitely come again

Unfortunately our holiday was ruined as on the first morning my wife was taken to hospital with pneumonia for the duration of our stay . The owner Anna was excellent and kept in contact With me offering any help she could. This was our 2nd visit to this cottage and for anyone looking for a fabulous dog friendly cottage should look no further .
Michael
A delightful property. Even better in reality than the listing which is already good. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We would not hesitate to recommend.
Beautiful property set in private grounds with a spectacular view from the garden or from the large conservatory. Well equipped, comfortable bed and lounge furniture with loads of storage space in bedroom and kitchenutility. Friendly and helpful owner. We will certainly be returning here again .
Gordon
For us... The ideal cottage. Lovely fully fitted accommodation, no neighbours, spectacular outlook, helpful and accommodating hosts. Village few miles away and Newtown 20min drive. No negatives except photography doesn't do it justice. We will be going again.
We have just had a lovely week at this property. Very relaxing and wonderful views from the conservatory where we spent a lot of the time. Lovely to have milk in the fridge on arrival for a brew after travelling. We will definitely go back.
Fantastic three nights. Great views. Remote but thats what we wanted. Shops, pubs etc within a couple mile drive. Hafren forest was a nice trip out,7k round trip walk along streams and waterfalls. Definitely return.
Lovely peaceful cottage. A great chill space. Already booked again for this year
Absolutely fabulous cottage, plenty of space, lovely workable kitchen, and wonderful views from the reclining chairs in the conservatory! ! We spent most of our time at the cottage sat admiring the views from the conservatory. We would definitely recommend this cottage, and hopefully we will be back sometime!
OUTSTANDING! Absolutely stunning, the pictures don't do it justice, the views are incredible, and the house has such a great feel about it! Exceptionally clean & a high standard of facilities throughout. Obviously a great deal of thought goes into this property by the owners, we have stayed in several holiday cottages all of which have been a very good experience , but Caesamson really is exceptional! It's not just the house and it's location, but also the welcome email with clear consice useful & helpful information & instructions, along with all the 'little touches' which we won't spoil by giving away on here, suffice to say thank you, they really do make a difference. The bottle of wine cookies & milk were very much appreciated, a cuppa after a long journey went down very well as we took in that view! A visit from Ian on Sunday was equally as welcome and it was a pleasure to meet him! We cannot recommend this property enough, thank you Ian & Anna for a fantastic week and we will definitely be returning!
Sharon
Lovely cottage, so peaceful and relaxing with a beautiful view. I loved spending time reading in the conservatory, watching the weather change in the valley and also Red Kites flying just in front and sitting in a tree not too far away, which my husband was so pleased about. We had a really relaxing week away and although the cottage is secluded it's not far to Caersws for a local shop and an excellent chip shop or to Newtown for a very big Tesco. The cottage has everything you could need and was really warm, clean and has a lovely feel to it. It was lovely to have a fire on a cold day too. The kitchen is well equipped and the owners thoughtful thanks for the bottle of wine and the cookies and for checking up on us to see if everything was OK. This was our second visit and I'm sure we'll be back again.
