Middle Hivron Reviews

Stephen
Lovely lodge in a very picturesque and quiet setting. It is off a local Aroad, and up a short but quite rough singletrack gravel road, with space for three midsized cars to park outside. The interior is mostly well laid out, though we found two of the four bedrooms a bit of a squeeze in terms of getting people and luggage in. The master bedroom with generouslysized ensuite was spacious and comfortable, in contrast, and the main bathroom was very nicely done. The addition of the rear entrance with hose for any dogs, and the pet baby gate is thoughtful, and the utility room with loo, washing machine and dryer was a really useful bonus. The nearest town is 6 miles around 20 mins away by car there are no real pavements on the nearby routes though, so walking in the immediate vicinity isn't easy and a car is fairly essential to get anywhere. The hottub needs careful reading of the instructions in the lodge folder but was already set up for us when we arrived, and once going is great. Definitely recommended as a base for a family holiday.

A beautiful place in the middle of stunning scenery. Owners go above and beyond to make you feel home from home with lots of little touches and the most well equipped kitchen in anywhere we have stayed previously. We would not hesitate to come back. Thank you
Lovely property, location, views & pricing. The owners were very friendly without being intrusive. Loved the mad dog!! Would return in a heartbeat! Garth Owenjones.
Wow, for our first Christmas away from home, we could not have picked a better place to go than Middle Hivron. The accommodation is lovely and clean, plenty of room for all 7 of us. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you could possibly need. The only downside is the freezer, which is a small compartment in one of the fridges. Which was quickly solved by Rachel, our host, put our meat in their freezer, which solved the problem. All of us enjoyed and appreciated the use of the hot tub. we could not get my grandchildren out of it. We loved being able to bird watch while having our meals, I saw my woodpecker , whie I was sat at the table. Our hosts Rachel and Andrew, are lovely and happy to help you during your stay. We can not wait to stay again x Julie and family

Brilliant host who makes sure that your stay is comfortable. Great location with no light or noise pollution. Was worried about charging my EV car as the property is in the middle of nowhere the host has an EV charger onsite and allowed us to use it at their regular electric tariff rate.
The property was absolutely lovely, nice cosy fire place, nice sized rooms and the owners were super helpful when we needed extra bits for the lodge. Hot tub was lovely and the grounds were nice and semi private. The only thing I would say as a negative is, it's not ideal for little ones, it should be known that it's not safe and secure enough for anyone under 5 or 6. The decking is super slippy and my children had numerous accidents on the decking We couldn't manage to get the hot tub really hot, just luke warm. There is also an additional fee for the logs and kindling for the hot tub which for the cost to stay we were surprised by. When stripping the beds, we found a very suspicious stain on the sheet which made us feel uneasy as to what we had been sleeping in. I think all in all, it's more suitable for a group of adults rather than a young family going to stay.
Jeanette
Absolutely stunning lodge with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. Rachel was very helpful and kind and even let us charge our electric car which we were extremely grateful for. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful lodge xx
Christine
Absolutely amazing holiday, beautiful cottage and amazing surroundings. Owners are amazing hosts even took part of our group out clay pigeon shooting. We loved it so much we stayed an extra 2 nights .
Jennifer
A lovely cottage but the master bedroom bed is rather low. We particularly enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder especially the woodpecker. Scrupulous maintenance of the hot tub.
Me and my group of friends had a lovely long weekend stay at middle hivron. Beds where comfy the living room and kitchen where clean and inviting. Rachel and Andy couldnt do enough for us while we were there. Would 100 return. My group chat has also been singing middle hivrons praises
Mohammed

Christa
A really lovely property, very much enjoyed ourselves, beautiful views and very quiet and peaceful. Views from the bedrooms were stunning.
Melissa
As a group of 6 adults and 1 dog, we enjoyed our week at Middle Hivron. It had everything we needed and a large living roomkitchen which was great for gathering. Bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely, especially the master bedroom with ensuite. The hot tub and outdoor space was fantastic, although could benefit from some more outdoor seating. We used the hot tub every night and also used the pizza oven which was great! I would say that the photos taken on the listing are quite old and outdated, the kitchenlounge doesn't look like that any more! The hosts were doing building work up at the farm during our stay they did apologise for the inconvenience and gave us a lovely gift, but being woken up at 7.30am by tractorsdiggers the one day wasn't really ideal. The garden could have been made more dogproof my little dog had to stay on the lead as she could have easily squeezed through some of the gaps in the fence. The house has a fly problem and we had to put up fly paper during our stay, felt a bit unhygienic cooking and eating with so many flies around. WiFi was also awful and pretty much unusable, so don't expect to use your phoneslaptops much during your stay!

Whilst the lodge was lovely its actually very dated in comparison to the pictures available on skyes cottages. Was clean and comfortable but lots of little things that need fixing and a bad smell from the septic tank. Internet connection very poor so when trying to work whilst away this wasn't possible. Lovely views and eveything we needed in the lodge.
Absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and more. The location is fantastic and the hot tubrelaxing atmosphere was everything we were looking for
Amazing!! Well equipped and everything had been thought of nice touches Friendly and helpful . Loved the location and the views were spectacular. Would definitely recommend and would stay again without hesitation. Thanks Rachel x
Great house for a group! Lovely views, big enough for everyone to eat, sleep and sit comfortably. All the utensils you could need and just a lovely place to stay. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and fire place. Many thanks!

The cabin is set in a beautiful location away from towns which was perfect for a peaceful weekend. The cabin had everything we needed, great space and the hot tub was gorgeous to sit in looking at the stars. Would definitely book again.

First of all I would like to say that Rachel and Andy were great hosts, we had a really lovely holiday and the cottage was very comfortable, we cannot find anything negative to say about it. The hot tub and the petanque piste provided us with great entertainment and the scenery is stunning. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

This was an amazing family cottage holiday! We really loved our stay, loved all the beautiful views through the windows and the friendliness from the owners. We arrived early and were let in early alongside the fact the owners allowed us to have the dog over for a visit which was a highlight for us. Thank you for the amazing time and for the amazing memories that have been made.
We had a lovely time at Middle Hivron. The house was comfortable and like a home from home during our stay. Beautiful surroundings that we enjoyed walking our dog through. Highly recommend!
Never wanted to review a holiday more! Perfect little getaway for those needing a peaceful break. Cottage was well equipped even for children & babies, clean & cosy. Books, games, leaflets and some DVDs. Kitchen had tea, coffee and milk on arrival. We didnt need to use it but noticed they had a swinging cot, travel cot, baby bath and Bumbo seat in the bathroom cupboard and plastic bowls and cups in the kitchen. The views from the bedrooms were of rolling hills, breathtakingly beautiful. Plenty of space for a party of 7. Hot Tub was a great treat after some long walks. Fab position for trips Elan Valley, Judges Lodgings, Fishpools and Water Break its Neck Waterfall. We travelled with grandparents and a young adult as well as our children aged 8 and 10 and everyone had an amazing time. Rachel, Andy and their family made the holiday extra special by allowing our children to get first hand experience with their chickens, sheep, horses and dogs Andy even took us out with his Lurcher at night which was so special for the children as they got to see a Barn Owl and a really clear view of the Milky Way! His local knowledge is second to none. We received a card from the owners saying wed been lovely guests and wed always be welcome back which was a lovely touch. Will recommend to everyone we know and well definitely be back!
The owner provided various types of basic food supplies and fruit and other goodies that we didn't anticipate. The house was much better equipped than we expected.
Rebecca
We had a lovely time in Middle Hivron, weve just left and we want to go back already. Weve made so many memories and we loved every minute of it. The views were incredible and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. There were many local walks, we went to Elan Valley and completed a 6 mile walk and saw some lovely scenery. The resources which were in the cottage were great, lots of little touches which were highly welcomed. Wish we were back here xx
We had a great time, very relaxing and the accommodation was really well equipped. The hot tub and boules area was well used! Beautiful views of the countryside. Would definitely recommend it.
A great peaceful place to stay in comfortable surroundings and in a lovely part of the country. Friendly helpful owners that were there if needed but otherwise gave us the space we required. Would definitely recommend.
Andrew
Had a great time, fantastic scenery and relaxing hot tub. the owner was always helpful.
Amazing cottage with plenty of space, friendly owner and all those welcome items tea, coffee, flowers, etc that really make a difference. Wood burning hot tub takes a while to get going but amazing addition to this gorgeous home
Had a brilliant time with my loved ones everything was perfect thank you
Naterlene
The Hospitality from the owners was especially good, lovely setting, fantastic place to stay
Dorian
A lovely property in a quiet location with fantastic views from the rooms and balcony. Excellent facilities for the eight of us including baby all on one floor. Fab welcome from the owners who were friendly and helpful. When we mentioned this break was our early Christmas celebration, they put up the Christmas tree and decs while we were out. Hot tub was a real fun bonus, even in December. Our two dogs were made to feel welcome and were also well catered for. Overall, a great place. Would return.
Excellent place with everything you need and more. Hosts very friendly and helpful, and kindly showed us around the lovely donkeys and horses at their place. The hot tub was clean and hot and fun. The heating is unusual, warmer at night than the morning, but the open fire was a boost . Scenery stunning, plenty of walks to do and places to see. Not great roads if you suffer car sickness
We had a fantastic time here, the cottage was beautiful and spacious, and had everything we could have needed. The views from the balcony were beautiful, it was lovely to enjoy a coffee in the morning whilst watching the horses roaming around. We would love to visit again and plan on doing so next year.
Lovely holiday for a birthday. Will probably be returning! I did leave my raincoat that holds sentimental value, who can I contact? Thanks.
Me and my friends had a great weekend at the cottage celebrating my birthday! The cottage is really nicely furnished with amazing views from the front room and the bedrooms. Rachel was very helpful and friendly, especially giving us a few essentials upon arrival. We really loved going in the hot tub, where you can admire the stunning view of the hills. Would highly recommend and thanks for a fab birthday weekend!
