The small house was lovely, with everything you need for a base in beautiful Brecon. Previous reviews have mentioned the stairs, so i was prepared. I had a great time in a wellkept property. Feedback for the owner, but mainly directed at Sykes. 5.0 pm access seems to be common lately and personally i don't think this is fair. 3.0 PM should be the latest time for access, which us plenty of time 5 hours to clean a small home. This started with Covid and is fast becoming the norm and it puts visitors in a bad mood right at the beginning if their stay. So, Sykes and other agencies should persuade owners to do the right thing. Rant over and I refer to my initial comments about a lovely property.

Think there may have been mice in the cottage, 2 packets of crisps nibbled open and most of contents gone the next morning! Tiny bits of the packaging as evidence. Outside seating area needs attention, weeds actually growing up through the bench. Would make such a difference to overall experience arriving at the property if this was sorted.

We enjoyed our stay in this very small, old house. The stairs are very steep and tight but this was no problem for us. The kitchen is wellequipped.

We were impressed with the amount of products available for our use e. G. washing powder, hand wash, toilet rolls etc. We weren't impressed that we had to do some cleaning of the property ourselves when we arrived. My wife cleaned the outside of the kitchen window and it improved the room's ambience considerably. We loved the kookiness of the cottage, but by the end of the week we were tired of twisting and bending to get between floors. Even though the owner did their best to prepare us for the stairs, the sheer verticality of them still surprised us. You have to go down to the kitchen backwards or you're going to be banging your head on the way down If you're tall, old, grumpy or lack mobility, avoid. If you're short, young, athletic, and like unique experiences, enjoy

No tea or coffee available had to navigate ourselves in the dark to Mossisons to purchase some. Bath towels too small for an average to large person. Stairs too steep even though this is mentioned in the listing. Even though dogs were welcome there was no secure area outside for them. Finding the place in the dark to check in after 5pm was challenging, but no flexibility in checking inout early or later was available Bed was very comfortable but lack of space meant my husband banged his leg on the bed Due to not feeling comfortable and the weather having snowed and more expected, we abandoned our stay after one night.

Value for money was excellent and each room was well furnished and comfortable. I would say though that the inter connection between rooms via the stairs did cause us a slight issue but being runners and fairly fit we soon established an easy method. If you have any mobility issues then I would think twice about booking it. The stair issues to be fair is highlighted in the information on the Sykes site. There are plenty of parking spaces very close to the cottage and we didn't have an issue with not having a dedicated space. Overall the cottage is very well appointed and great value for money.

We had a lovely cozy week at Kooky Cottage. The stairs were no problem and just as described. The cottage was in a great position near the cathedral and town and easy to get to lots of fabulous walks. Bins were a bit confusing as some were in the road and some in the garden and I could have done with a hairdryer but I gather this will be provided fior future guests. We would definitely return, thank you.

We loved our time at quirky. Kooky Cottage. It was quiet and comfortable. But we could have done with thicker pillows on bed. Also, as we had such lovely weather, we would like to have taken advantage of bistro table and chairs in garden as advertised. We do, however, hope to return at a later date.

The stairs are extremely steep and turn tightly with a low ceiling . The kitchen being on a lower level to the main room makes this especially problematic. We unfortunately couldnt stay as a result. This needs clearly highlighting in the description..

Everything was fine, but found the stairs a bit of a problem as I have problems with my knee and found it troublesome as I live in a bungalow. I was however told there were stairs, so no reflection on the accommodation at all. Many thanks, Frank

We had a lovely stay in Kooky Cottage, very clean and tidy and only a short walk to the local town. The fire was lovely too. The only thing i could mention would be never having a reception to watch tv that said it didn't bother us really because we was never in but i could imagine some would like to have that especially if they had been out all day and fancied a quiet night in.

Lovely property, ideal for a brief weekend visit to Brecon. Town was a short walk from the cottage. Parking was easier than expected and the cottage itself very comfortable and well maintained and equipped. My only thought for those with any mobility issues the stairs up and down are very steep. My wife and I managed ok and we really enjoyed our stay.

Cottage was not clean on arrival, bedding not changed, dirty towels on the floor. Had to go for a long walk in the rain, waiting for the cottage to get cleaned. Lady responsible for the situation came with a box of chocolates and apologized the following day.

Kooky cottage is a quirky little place. There is a cosy wood burning stove and the owners have refurbished the place in a tasteful fashion. It is very close to all amenities and there are lots of dog friendly coffee shops etc. The stairs are fine going up but coming down is a bit scary! Our elderly Retriever was marooned in the living room as he could manage the stairs.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage over New Year, it is definitely Kooky not a problem for us we loved it, they have listed this explaining the stairs are steep and you should expect this fully as described however, it all adds to the character. We had a great stay, did some walking going to the local town, and cooked all our meals in the kitchen, although a shared yard we never saw anyone else during our stay, it's so peacefully quiet, a lovely log burner adds to the stay. We would return and definitely recommend

We had a really lovely stay at Kooky Cottage over Christmas. The property was in a perfect location for some lovely hikes and walks, the town had everything in walking distance which was useful. The cottage itself has everything you need, with a really nice kitchen. The host had left a basket of useful information about the area and we did some of the suggested walks. The log fire made the cottage very cosey too! The stairs do take some getting used to but as long as you take them slowly they aren't too much of a problem. For some reason I assumed the property would have been decorated for Christmas, but on reflection I should have checked this, however it did not take from the lovely time we had there. The area was quiet and friendly too.

Kooky cottage was such a great find! We stayed for 4 nights beginning of this month August and didn't want to leave. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable with a whole lot of character. Owner has thought about, and supplied everything you could need for your stay. We found the cottage very clean and all linens, towels etc clean and fresh. Lovely decor also! Added bonus of a sofa bed which was handy too. Table and seating available to sit outside also, we didn't use them but was good to know we had the option. The stairs are steep, of varying sizes, and ceiling above them is low but with time and care they're fine to navigate!...this just adds to the character and charm though, it is a 1850s property! Great location very quiet street, easy to walk into the centre of Brecon. Street parking available in front of property, not a lot of room but we had no issues thankfully. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to visit again. Will recommend to friends and family!

Lovely quirky cottage, the stairs are a bit steep but manageable. Has everything you need. Great location for pubs and restaurants.

The cottage was convenient for popping into the town, but it was not so easy to pop up or down stairs in view of the stairs steepness being greater than expected. Sykes were good at responding to any queries that we had and the info left by the owner was very good and informative. It was great for a mini break for access to the Beacons. The wood burner was better when we got some seasoned wood.
