Varley Villa Reviews

Christine
Fantastic accommodation, had everything we needed and very close to shops & restaurants. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and an unexpected bonus. Would highly recommend. Kind regards Christine & Mark, Jersey.
We love varley villa this was the second visit and hopefully we'll make it three next year. It's cosy and cheerful
Really pleased with booking. Varley Villa is very well equipped and dog friendly. It was clean and well maintained. Complimentary basket well received by both dogs and humans! Would visit again and very centrally located Only negative is the tv kept on buffering so if signal is poor in the area then the offer of a DVD or radio would be great. However this did negatively impact on the trip.
Elizabeth
Lovely & clean, comfy beds, chairs & sofa. Great welcome packchocolate needs to go into the fridge in warm weather as they were melted! Beautiful new kitchen but need some more teaspoonsonly 3 there Sat nav told us the property was on the left after we had turned left at the roundabout after the bridge, but its on the right with a very narrow opening to the drive. Had to watch TV through our I padmobiles, as their WiFi TV kept freezing & buffering. Maybe a Freesat box may help or Sky as it has a dish. Decking is facing the owners house so it isnt very private. Otherwise, weve had a lovely relaxing 5 night stay thank you.
Joseph
Property was clean welcome packs were a nice touch but very hot inside no air con. Picture of property was quite deceiving and differcult to find surrounded by large houses overlooking not shown in pictures lack of privacy. Quite close to town but plenty to do.
Angela
Fantastic stay beautiful property and have booked for next year already
Natalie
This was our 2nd visit to Varley Villa, so that speaks for itself. It is super accommodation, extremely clean, plenty of towels and offers everything you need for a nice break. The location is also brilliant as you can walk into Newtown, which has the River Severn running through it, so there there are lots of lovely walks. The Welcome goodies are fabulous, all the basics, bread, milk, egg, butter, Welsh Cakes and then on top of that a lovely little basket containing crisps, wine, biscuits, mini preserves, lemonade and chocolate, what more could you ask for! The only tiny thing missing is a mirror in the twin room, It is not a huge problem, but it would enhance the room. Hopefully, we will be back ! Natalie
Lovely property, with all you need. Fab location, plenty of walks from the doorstep. Great local river which our dog loved. Wonderful welcome pack.
Really clean, nice place in a great location close to the town centre. The Welcome Pack was very much appreciated also thanks. Would definitely book here again.
Varley Villa was amazing . Absolutely spotless and furnished to a high standard. The welcome goodies went over and above anywhere else I have stayed . Quiet and peaceful and very comfortable . Cant recommend this place enough . You wont be disappointed if you book a stay here .
We loved that Varley Villa was in a very quiet, safe location but within a few minutes walk of Midtown and a huge selection of restaurants. We also loved the welcome hamper of wines, biscuits, chocolates and savouries. Also, the fridge was stocked with fresh bread, scones and milk etc A few more stickon hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels etc would have been nice but that's the only fault I could find
We booked at the last minute get away has we lost my mom in June and this was our first Christmas without her and my dad has moved in with us so we all need a rest when I saw the villa it was just what we were looking and it definitely did not disappoint it was warm and clean with a little hamper then position of the villa was ideal for walking into town Wetherspoons just down the roads and plenty of shops The weather wasnt the best but it did stop us going to Barmouth and Welshpool . Would definitely recommend this dog friendly villa .And the beds were so comfortable
Christine
Lovely comfortable property and nice hosts. Great location. The welcome pack was appreciated. Could do with more cutlery and crockery. Once the dishwasher was full, nothing to use. Heating was easy to use and efficient, which was needed with the snow!
Patricia
Our stay at Varley Villa was great it had ever think we needed and a lovely welcome hamper for us as well, left by the owners many thanks. It is a lovely villa and in a great location near the top of the high street. We was in Newtown visiting friends, so all been well we will book again. Many thanks again.
Glenys
We had a lovely stay at Varley Villas and the accommodation was really great. I would just make a few little suggestions and these are just would be nice to haves In the twin room somewhere to hang clothes and a mirror. In the Kitchen it would be nice to have have doubles of cutlery, plates, bowls, etc. However these minor things would in no way stop us from 100 recommending Varley Villas to family and friends, we had a lovely stay in your cosy accommodation. The owners were also very friendly and stressed that they were there to help should we need them. There was just one little thing the directions of how to find the house once you have reached Newtown are not accurate and we had to ring the owner for directions. So if Sykes Cottages Admin Team could just alter this it would help.
Carole
Varley Villa was absolutely gorgeous! From the outside it looks superb, well maintained and clean. Upon entering the Villa it is amazing, clean, comfortable and well set out. There is everything you need to enjoy your break from cutlery to a washing machine. The bathroom is great, shower is lovely, powerful and to top it all walkin. Bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of storage. Set in a quiet part of Newtown but within walking distance of all amenities. Hosts Ross and Trish very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Top marks all around and thank you for a lovely break. Carole and Paul.
Derrick
Lovely stay, with a wonderful welcome pack. Villa was well presented and had everything we needed for our stay there. Enclosed front decking was good to provide freedom for the dog in a secure area. Good location for walking into Newtown and a lovely park for dogs nearby. Further afield there were opportunities to explore Oswestry and Shrewsbury.
Lesley

Lovely villa close to town with some shops and pubs ect very peaceful and lovely sitting out on the deck area x perfect for wheelchair users as dad uses on and everything was accessible x massive park over the road for lovely walks with dogs and everyone was very fro in the town x would definitely go again
Varley Villa is lovely little property. Its well equipped and the owners had left ample supplies of kitchenbathroom essentials and a generous welcome hamper. The location is very convenient for the town centre but it was quiet and peaceful sitting out on the veranda.
Varley villa is so comfortable and cosy the owners thought of everything, dog treats towels, dog blankets, as for us humans there was all you could possibly need, a lovely hamper full of tasty treats. The villa is situated just minutes from a lovely park, and also from the town centre. I would recommend Varley villa it's an absolute gem, I'd love to return at a future date
Excellent accommodation everything was better than expected, lovely welcome box and basic essentials provided. The lodge is minutes from town centre and the lady in the tourist information centre couldnt do enough for us. We had marvellous weather so could spend time sat outside the lodge on the well maintained patio. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely stay and all the goodies from the owners were delicious. Very clean and everything provided that you needed. Thankyou
The attention to detail is superb. Welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs welsh cakes extra treats of wine, crisps, biscuits and jam, plus treats for the dog. Lots of games for children. The cottage is immaculate and in an excellent location with a fantastic park almost opposite for walks and picnics. All in all a fantastic stay.
Raymond
We could not wish for a nicer holiday cottage or nicer people running it. Plenty of very nice places to visit. Bala lake, Barnmouth, Aberdovey Lake Vernwy, Welshpool, and the list goes on.
Adrian
A beautiful property, with great facilities, and n a quiet location but within a few minutes' walk into the town. The nibbles were a lovely touch, as were the toiletries. All in all a perfect stay, and we are planning to return. Thank you.
Fabulous place to stay. They had thought of everything. Very comfortable & convenient for the time. It really is a home away from home. Will definitely stay at again if I am in the area.
Louise
A lovely property, clean and warm, beds comfy, walk in shower great. Poor weather prevented us from sitting out on verandah but on sunnier days we think it would be lovely. Short walk into town and to train station. We used the trains to travel to Aberystwyth, Tywyn, and Welshpool. There was a nearby park for walking the dog but due to exceptional wet Spring it was very muddy. Owners left us a box of treats, bread, milk , eggs, wine, crisps. These were much appreciated. We had a great short break and would definitely come back here again.
Roland
Varley villa is in a great location, central to the facilities of Newtown and local walks . Our stay was made very comfortable considering it was early season. A high recommendation from us !
Gillian
We had a lovely stay perfect location and the accommodation was fantastic
Wonderful property, superb welcom pack. So close to amenities.
Sharon
Varley villa is very nicely set up especially for people with less mobility. It is very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a holiday. The hosts are lovely and respond to any issues immediately. The welcome back is the best we have ever had, home made bread and cakes, eggs, milk, butter plus a lot of extras. Villa is walking distance to the town and good walking around for the dog. It was a shame the weather was not nice enough to sit outside as a nice little patio. I would return if in the area again.
Raymond
Could not fault anything.
Varley Villa is beautiful. The photos do not do the property justice. It has the Wow factor and the owners Ross and Trish give it the Wow plus 1. From the moment we arrived we felt at home especially with a welcome hamper including hot home made bread. A beautiful park within 100 metres to walk our dog and the town full of interesting shops, pubs and takeaways. The property is very comfortable, luxurious walk in shower, fully fitted kitchen and a great decking and seating area. Ross and Trish should be extremely proud of the offer and we will remember it for a long time and hope to be back soon. Varley Villa offers great value for money and if you fancy a luxurious property and throw in a friendly town, a park close by with great hosts then this is the place for you. The park offers the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and the cafes close by provide coffee and cakes before heading back to relax. There really is nothing negative to add, the booking is simple and we were provided with all the information we needed to enjoy a great break. Ross and Trish...Thank You
Valley Villa was exceptional. The hosts Ross and Trish had thought of everything and more. It was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our walks in the lovely park and the little town. We went out to a couple of country pubs for a meal, The horseshoe was lovely. Would highly recommend to our friends and family.
The villa is peaceful, yet only a few minutes' walk from the town centre perfect for our short break. Very dogfriendly too!
The only issue we had was with the smart tv, to us it was complicated to use because we are not that tech savi. The hosts were superb, the villa was in the centre of the town, very convenient and parking was effortless.
Lovely villa to stay in. It has everything you need and more. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you for your hospitality.
