Joanne
What a gem of a place for a family gathering. We needed a house big enough for six adult and 3 dogs and this was the one. We visited to celebrated my 60th birthday and it did not disappoint. The views from the property were excellent, we even managed to star watch two nights whilst in the hot tub. There is plenty of parking available and the patio area is gated so the dogs to roam easily. There was plenty of choice regarding bedrooms, three with double beds and two with single beds. One bedroom has an ensuite. The family bathroom was so big and with a lovely roll top bath. The owners kindly left flowers, a bottle of Presecco, dog treats, milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. The kitchen had everything you could ask for the only missing was an air fryer! The roads leading up to the property had a few potholes, be prepared. The phone signal is nonexistent but that was bliss however WiFi was free. I would recommend this property if you are looking a large house and peace & quiet. Also either arrange for a food delivery or get your supplies before you arrive the nearest supermarket is approx 30mins away.
We have just had a fantastic family holiday for my husbands 60th birthday. The house was clean, had all the amenities to cater for a large group. Views and walks where amazing. Highly recommend the eggs from the honesty box just outside the house. Preseco, flowers, milk, dog treats are a lovely touch. Lin and James are very welcoming and on call for any problems. The house is very rural with the closet shops bring half an hour away so come prepared but this is why we picked it, no noise apart from nature. The Radnorshire Arms is a recommended pub serving meals but book in advance. I would Highly recommend this place to anyone
Billie
The house had so much character and charm. The area was beautiful. My youngest granddaughter enjoyed seeing all the sheep. We took several walks and watched as they were being feed. The adults all enjoyed the hot tub every night. It was so peaceful and we really all, family of 10, had a wonderful time. We would love to stay at the house again if we are ever back in the UK.
Stunning location! Appreciated the detailed circular walk which the children were able to follow. We couldnt change the outside bulb so we could use the hot tub later on on the evening. Flowers and fizz appreciated. Happy for feedback to be published
Richard
Absolutely loved our stay. Maesgwyn exceeded our expectations. Clean, tidy and perfectly prepared for our short stay. Great communication with the owners prior to us arriving and with clear instructions on how to get there it is a little isolated. We couldn't have wished for more.
Annamarie
We had a lovely time, but the road up to the property needs some TLC.
Michelle
Great property, as remote as you can be in Wales, but has everything you need and more.
Louise
Lovely house perfect for a large family gathering. Well equipped kitchen. The owners were extremely helpful supplying us with potatoes when Tesco let us down on the delivery. That was the only issue we had all weekend and would definitely come back
Perfect location to get away from it all in a lovely cottage, we will definitely be back
Deborah
Some lovely touches to welcome like flowers, wine & dog treats although we did nt use wine or treats. Outside cushions were left out and wet so we could nt use. We did try to dry but the were soaked on our arrival. No wardrobehanging rail in master broom. Shower cubical in family bathroom very small and plenty of space to put a larger one in. Appreciate its a working farm but the level of flies even though doors were only opened when enteringexiting. Windows were not opened at sll. Door Screens would benefit highly. Unpleasant smell in snug. Could nt watch TV as signal poor. Info was excellent about local area and walks. Overall a good weekend away with joint families, playing games of an evening around the large family kitchen table.
Michelle
Amazing place to stay! House was spotless when we arrived, lots of instructions on how to use everything, plenty of plates, glasses etc in the kitchen. Very friendly and helpful owners, gorgeous setting, cant recommend enough!
Charles
Amazing location, a bit more remote than we expected but a beautiful place to spend a quiet week. The house was very clean and tidy and certainly had some history about it. The kitchen was well equipped and great for socialising and the kids enjoyed the 'snug' for watching films in peace. We didn't light the fire as the property was so warm with the central heating. Everyone slept well, a very quiet place at night. Kids made good use of the hot tub.
The owners were nice, easy to deal with and helpful when we encountered problems getting there due to snow. The house was lovely for a weekend away with friends, would recommend
Fantastic property. Plenty of room, very well equipped, warm and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
Suzanne
Beautiful farm house, set in stunning countryside, peace and quiet all around. Very clean, everything we needed in the house and fully equipped kitchen. Lovely relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying the scenary. Warm friendly welcome from the hosts, who were very helpful when we had forgotten to pack a cot sheet, came straight over to give us a spare sheet. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely clean property. Lin the owner was very friendly and helpful. The views are wonderful a very peaceful location. Great for walking.
Robert
The cottage is set in a quiet peaceful location. It is worth remembering you will be a distance from the nearest supermarket so just plan ahead. The farmhouse is very well appointed with lots of room for a large group. The hot tub is a pleasure and is well maintained by the owners. Deer in the lane, rabbits on the drive and loads of bird life make it a great stay for nature lovers. The owners are on hand if needed but are very discreet. They face us excellent advise. Good walking and cycling from the door. Visit the Radnorshire Arms for Sunday lunch. It is amazing. Make sure you book. Overall Maesgwyn is a lovely place to stay.
Lovely property, well stocked but miles away from anywhere to buy supplies so it had to be . One or two issues with broken lights and flies , bulbs out in the lounge and no bulbs to replace. We had a wonderful week , plenty to do and see in the vicinity . Helpful owners . Fabulous hot tub , enjoyed by all of us . We had so much fun and cosy evenings with a great log burner. Thouroughly recommend .
Debbie

Beautiful clean house in gorgeous setting , friendly owners , wonderful secluded ... Beautiful clean house in gorgeous setting , friendly owners , wonderful secluded area great for walking and very peaceful , was a perfect break away
Adrian
We enjoyed a very relaxing holiday at Maesgwyn. The location is wonderful and being in the middle of nowhere, very quiet. The house was clean and welcoming, especially the flowers, milk, fresh eggs and Prosecco, a nice little touch. Lin and James were very welcoming and quick to help on a problem we had with the heating, which was down to pilot error, not the house. We can highly recommend staying here if you want to get away from it all. We do plan to return sometime in the future.
Claire
The cottage is large and spacious, great for a family meet up. The hot tub is fantastic and very convenient positioned in a secluded area with views of the mountains and stars. The road to the cottage is a dirt track, be aware if you are driving a sports car or something low to the ground. Also we did not pick up on the fact that there are two other holiday lets next door, the bathroom window faces the hot tub of one of the other lets, make sure you draw the curtains as you can see in. The house is very clean and looks as though it has been recently refurbished. I would recommend this property and would visit again. There are a couple of things that require attention, such as the dish washer needs a service, the wood burner needs a refurb and some new pans would be useful. It would be nice to have a radio or music system in the kitchen too.
Fantastic property. Great location. Helpful and friendly owners. We all had a lovley week at a beautiful holiday home. Hot tub just wow.!
There was nine of us in total, and each one of us said it exceeded our expectations. The directions and instructions to get access were spot on. The cottage was immaculate, the bed sheets smelled amazing and the owners had left a beautiful hand written welcome note. The facilities were amazing, the fresh flowers, eggs, milk, tea, coffee and prossecco were a much appreciated welcome, and the view was outstanding. We went for a break, and wanted to stay at the cottage to unwind, which is exactly what we did, I can't comment on anything nearby, as we didn't venture out. There is wifi but our ability to access this was limited, perhaps this was due to the weather. On behalf of all in our group, thank you so much.
Clayton
Fantastic place to stay lovely friendly host couldn't have asked for anything else!
Maxine
Wonderful house, clean and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Relaxing hot tub with stunning scenery. Owners friendly and helpful. Thank you
Rhiannon
Beautiful location. Beautiful house. Felt very at home. Didn't do too much then sit in the hot tub and relax. Wonderful countryside views. Would love to go back
Gareth
Fantastic cottage, very well presented in a very beautiful location overlooking the valley, the size of the cottage was well suited to our party and the facilities equipped were of very good standard. The hot tub is a bonus and looks out over the lovely scenery whilst being discrete, The lodge also has good walking routes for able and non able individuals making this a very enjoyable location. the drive to the cottage leaves you in anticipation as you meander down the tight country lanes just keep an eye out for the local tractors Brilliant holiday and looking forward to booking this again next year
The lady who owns and rents out the property is summed up in 3 words a maz ing. She has thought of everything. The house is nipping clean and utterly stunning. The hospitality from the owner is second to none and nice to meet welly boy and lightning her kids. The hot tub is cleaned and prepared daily. The location is all I expected from a remote site like this. Oh and the fresh eggs are delicious. I would recommend to anyone and will return. One point that needs addressing. New frying pans. Kept bursting the delicious eggs
A beautiful property in a stunning location, just the place to to enjoy a relaxing holiday
Hannah
The cottage is lovely, a good amount of space and beautiful countryside, sheep, rabbits, bats and swallows everywhere! There is not much nearby, so best to be organised by either arranging an online shop delivery, or bring your own supplies. We did a lovely walk to Beguildy recommended by the cottage, about 8 miles. The hot tub was great, especially paired with a BBQ on the terrace don't forget some charcoal!. The beds were comfy and linen all clean and fresh. The main bathroom is huge! There are nice old features such as exposed beams and 2 reception rooms, the main one with a lovely big wood burner. The kitchen is a nice communal space big enough for 10 adults to sit and eat very comfortably. Lin, the host, was very helpful and made the trip seamless, yet left us to it a perfect weekend, thank you.
Chantal
The best thing was to be able to go for walks from 74 to 2 years old without taking the car! Flowers including part of the hill in front covered with bluebells and birds were magnificent. And all children, grandchildren and grand parents loved the hot tub so easy to use and with a view. Overall an easy and comfortable holiday accommodation for a crossgeneration break.
Rachel
We could tell that the cottage had been lovely and the location was certainly very peaceful. However, every single dish had to be washed before use as they were covered in grease. We soon found out why the dishwasher did not clean the dishes even though it was used according to the instructions left. The dishes were washed by hand for the remainder of our holiday. We found that the cottage, although lovely, had lots of general maintenance issues which, while did not ruin the holiday, were unexpected for the price paid. It was really nice of the owner to leave a bottle of prosseco and flowers for us, a really unexpected treat which we appreciated. The hot tub was a big hit also. Unfortunately, I dont foresee myself or my family returning.
Tracy-lee
The house worked extremely well for the 3 generations on the holiday Scenery and location is beautiful although transport is essential to get anywhere as it is rather remote Tescos do deliver so that was a and took any stress out of trying to find a local shop! Lots of good dog walks and climbing hills too. Would recommend!
Lovely cottage although a bit remote, plenty of space for 10 very quiet too
Rhianydd
