Penarth Reviews

Absolutely perfect! The cottage was absolutely perfect for our annual Christmas gettogether with friends. As a large group with dog we found the cottage met all of our needs. There was plenty of space for us to spend group time together, but to also do our own things, i.e. game room, snug, large secure garden, and of course the wonderful hot tub. The bedrooms were all lovely and cosy, with only one that did not have an ensuite. The kitchen was large with the best dining table i've ever seen! perhaps lighting could be a little brighter, but that is my only negative comment, and not really negative The living room was so very cosy with the log burner, and plenty of space for all of us to sit comfortably together. The area was beautiful, quiet and secluded, but near enough to Builth Wells to not feel totally isolated, and lots and lots of walking opportunities nearby. We all loved it so much that we have booked again already for next Christmas. Five star plus! Highly recommended

A lovely house in a beautiful area. We had a week of relaxation and retreat after Christmas it is a very quiet area but we were within easy reach of towns. We enjoyed walks out from the house and visited the Elan valley. In the evenings the lovely, large log burner and communal kitchen table meant we could get cosy, enjoy dinner and relax. We were two families of 9 people in total and a dog and the house accommodated us well.
Penarth cottage is wonderful The house is amazing, comfy beds, the hot tub is fantastic, great kitchen, lovely breakfast bar looking over the garden, plenty of parking and plenty of space to hang out. The surrounding area is also stunning. I will definitely be back and would recommend staying there. Many thanks
Beautiful traditional farmhouse which was perfect for our extended family of 10. We loved the garden and being surrounded by animals and nature. The fruit trees were a big hit with our young granddaughters. The pool and football table were fun and we appreciated some of the children's games. Marie, the owner, was lovely and responded promptly to enquiries. We had a bit of an issue with flies in the kitchen, I'm not sure what you can do about this.

Excellent Stay Spacious, WellEquipped Cottage in Tranquil Setting We recently stayed at this beautiful cottage in Wales with a group of 10 and had an outstanding experience. The property is well laid out, comfortably accommodating a large group with four generously sized bedrooms and four modern bathrooms, which meant no queueing or delays in the mornings. The spacious dining area made it ideal for group meals and socialising. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed for selfcatering at scale, and the entire property was spotless on arrival. A key highlight was the extensive garden surrounding the cottage, which offered privacy and plenty of space for outdoor activities. The Jacuzzi was a real luxury, especially in the evenings wellmaintained, clean, and easy to operate. The location is peaceful and scenic, yet still within a reasonable drive of local attractions and amenities. Ideal for both families and groups looking for a relaxing countryside break. Highly recommended excellent value, superb facilities, and a responsive, helpful host.

Lovely property in a idyllic location.
We spent a fantastic weekend at Penarth to celebrate a family birthday. The house and grounds were perfect for us and provided ample space for 7 adults, 3 children and a dog. We particularly enjoyed the tranquility of the location and generously sized kitchen and garden which we made full use of and we wouldnt hesitate to return.

This was an excellent place to celebrate my brothers 50th. Itss great character cottage with a large garden and hot tub in a lovely rural location. Perfect for our family group of ten and our bank holiday weekend getaway. We walked up to the mountain above, fished on the Wye and went for an excellent meal at The Roasted Ox after a scenic drive over the pass. Everything as expected and the kids were happy with the table football! Thanks also to Marie the host for welcoming us on Friday. Would definitely be happy to recommend to others.

The cottage is in a fantastic setting surrounded by peaceful hills which is lovely when youre sat in the hot tub! The property has lots of character, a really lovely farmhouse. Having lots of rooms means there is loads of space for everybody and the size of both the kitchen and lounge also allows everybody to get together. The table football and snooker are also great to have. Marie, the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating with lots of ideas about places to go. Overall we all had a great stay and would definitely recommend Penarth.
Really incredible stay for my 30th birthday. The cottage is so beautiful and the setting is just as good in the middle of the countryside with the sound of sheep and birds as a soundtrack. We couldn't have been more lucky with the weather too. Thank you Marie for your hospitality. Will 100 come back! What a wonderful weekend.

Wonderful home, full of character excellent and friendly hosts
Absolutely amazing! Wonderfully clean and equipped. Set in such a beautiful tranquil setting and steeped with history the perfect weekend break. A hosts!
An amazing cottage in a beautiful location. We had a group of 10 6 adults and 4 kids and had ample space. I cannot believe how clean it was, I don't think I saw a spec of dust the whole time we were there. The kitchen is huge and very well equipped. It was really nice to be able to cook and eat with everyone in the same room, and with plenty of space on the table at mealtimes. All bedrooms were great, the beds super comfy, and the multiple bathrooms was ideal. The games room and lean to meant the kids and adults had plenty of space to play and chill. The hotub was a bonus and was super relaxing on a cold October evening. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it for anyone else, particularly with a big group. Thank you very much Marie and Viv for letting us stay.
Wonderful Farmhouse stay. The stay was so comfortable with nothing to want for. Would love to return if staying in the vicinity again.
Amazing! Hosts are very helpful and want their guests to get the best out of their holiday. Marie gave us lots of good places to visit. We would recommend any family looking for a spacious cottage, to try this one. family Breuer

We spent 2 nights at Penarth house and the stay was amazing we will definitely be booking to return again. The facilities were brilliant. Very pieceful and veautiful gardens We had a small issue that was dealt with and amended straight away. I would recommend Penarth house.
Lovely property in a fantastic location owned by friendly people who were so helpful to us.
Perfect for our group of 10. We sought somewhere dog friendly with a hot tub, a big kitchen table, space for everyone to communally lounge, plenty of parking, a good amount of oven space and a mix of singledouble beds. Few places ticked as many boxes as here. We were delighted to find this place which and had a fabulous weekend. The owner was prompt and welcoming too. The building has been wonderfully modernised but its very old. The beams give it character but its worth noting from the pictures how low the entrance to the bedroom that sleeps 4 is only about 1.3m so everyone is going to have to duck. Theres another beam leading to it at 1.6m so be sure to leave a light on nearby whenever it starts to get dark. As shown on the map, the property is very slightly north of Cregrina so, if approaching from the north, youve gone too far if you pass the sign showing that youve entered Cregrina satnav took us into Cregrina. If youre approaching from the south, drive through and out the other side of Cregrina the hamlet is tiny.
Andrew
It was nice to stay at a lovely place that was priced at a reasonable cost. The cottage has a very traditional feel, and the garden is a lovely place to enjoy nature. The hot tub, pool table and table football were great for entertainment. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The main suggestions I'd make is providing bigger towels for everyone, and personally I kept hitting my head on the low ceilings and beams several times. I know there are signs saying mind your head, but if there's any way you can remove the low beams, I think future guests would probably really appreciate it. But other than that, a really great stay, so thank you
Justin
Outstanding cottage host very friendly and helpful
Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings, pictures dont quite do it justice! The hot tub was great after a day of hiking! Marie was always quick to reply and help if needed We will deffo have to come back again!
Rachel
We loved everything about it! Especially playing hide and seek in this big quirky farm house!
Loved every minute of the stay despite catching the flu from the weather, my own fault for walking in shorts and a tee shirt! Fantastic location with some lovely walks surrounding the property. Hot tub was an added bonus and the open fire is fantastic. We stayed with friends and partners and we all loved it. Great pub nearby called the hundred house highly recommend and definitely take advantage of the logs you can purchase on sight! Will definitely be coming back soon. The dogs loved it also
Great cottage in a great location. Kitchen was well equipped and we all loved the hot tub. We hope to come back again!
Excellent 3 night break at Penarth Farmhouse to celebrate the wife's 60th birthday with the family. It's a very old farmhouse and has been modernised where needed but still retains many of the original features. Huge kitchen with all you need, cosy living room with an excellent log burner, all the bedrooms are good and the beds are so comfy. Decent hot tub a lovely bonus and enjoyed by all. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this place. Thanks to the host Marie who met us on arrival and showed us around. One of the best rentals we have stayed in.
Perfectly positioned in rolling hills, up a farm lane but only 7 miles from Builth and LLandridrod. Local pub just over a mile away. Would book again.
The property was fantastic Really well equipped and in a beautiful location. The beds were really comfy and the bathrooms really clean. Marie and Viv were really attentive hosts and helped us find things we thought we missing! Would definitely recommend and are considering coming back again in the future
Krystian
We have stayed with family at Penarth for 4 nights. Hosts are very welcoming showed us everything inside and outside of the house. Place was great, quiet, load of space for kids to play around. Hot tube was amazing and we regret we use it only twice. I would definitely recommend Penarth to anyone and we'll be back for sure. Big thanks to the hosts Marrie and Viv, see you soon. Kris with family..
Beautiful place to stay, it has all you need to relax. Surroundings and garden made it for us
