Myrtle Villa Reviews

Jonathan
Very happy with the property just not very easy to park my range rover bit tight
A lovely, cosy and well appointed cottage. Lovely walks nearby, with the town facilities and shops a short walk away. Thank you for the goodies much appreciated. Very peaceful.
On arrival, the key safe was very difficult to open and I almost had to contact Sykes. There was dog poo all over the garden and it took ages to clean up so our dog was safe. The garden was a big disappointment. It was a shambles and the paths were unsafe. The house itself was clean and comfortable, although my partner had to clean out the drain in the shower tray to prevent the bathroom flooding. On departure, we couldn't open the key safe and had to contact Sykes to inform them. We will not book Myrtle Villa again.

This was a gem of a cottage. It was very comfortable and well equipped. The owners had thought of everything including some treats which we enjoyed. The garden was lovely and very safe for our dog. The sun was shining all week so the patio was a welcome place to be. It was in a quiet area and although the train ran by the bottom of the garden it didn't cause any issues, in fact it was great to see. The town has lots of amenities and easy to get to other places. Walking was great and straight from the door. Would highly recommend the cottage.
Rebecca
Great location in a quiet street but close to the town centre. We were unlucky with the weather but the cottage was warm and welcoming. Lots of local walks and interesting places to visit. Would definitely return if in the area.
Joanna
Absolutely lovely quaint cottage. Very comfortable, well equippped and cosy. Quiet lane, and easy walk to town. Great base for walking, and the river is a haven for wildlife. Only issue was the small lawned area it was covered in dog faeces at least 8 piles! and so not useable for us. Presumably this is due to previous guests not picking up after their dogs, althought the wooden garden gate to the parking does not close properly. Would definitely stay here again, and thanks for the juice and nibbles!
Great, well equipped cottage with a large bathroom, 3 TV's, really comfortable place to stay, and everything you need, including a nice little garden with plenty of seating, we parked the wrong side of the cottage on next doors drive to start with but the lady there was friendly in informing us, great local pub not far away and good local fish and chip shop, really enjoyed our stay.
Jennifer
Lovely cottage, very welcoming, comfortable. And had everything we needed. Only mini gripe is that the garden was a bit overgrown with Wood Avens my pet peeve, as our dog inevitably ends up covered in the seeds!, but it's such a persistent plant that I'm not surprised. Otherwise a fantastic holiday, and would heartily recommend the cottage.
The property is lovely and has a very tranquil garden. Pubs and shops are just a 5min walk away. Owner has made lots of effort to ensure that guests have everything they need, including leaving some nice nibbles thank you!.
Nice quaint cottage, easy to get warm, comfortable, very nice garden, only stayed 4 nights, but plenty of walks from the door and a couple of nice pubs in knighton.
Bridget
Myrtle Villa is a great house with a lovely, secure garden. The house was comfortable, clean and well equipped with lots of attention to detail. It has the best ever shower cubicle! Parking was fine for us with a Seat Arona. The house is located in an area of stunning countryside with great walks from the door. The train station is a five minute walk away and we caught a train twice to a nearby village and walked back.
Comfortable house, warm and well equipped. Only issue was steep stairs and the parking space was tight to manoeuvre into
Absolutely wonderful. The cottage was lovely and warm and cosy with a nice garden to watch the birds. Lots of enjoyable walks from the doorstep and loads to do further afield the Elan Valley is well worth a visit. Knighton itself has plenty of nice shops, pubs and places to eat. We will definitely be back soon!
Wanted for nothing. Lovely bathroom, excellent heating, kitchen very well equiped, nice garden, overall good cottage. Couple small negatives....slightly difficult manouvering to park an estate car and steep staircase for elderly. Apart from those minor points a very enjoyable stay and would thoroughly recommend.
Deborah
It's such a charming cottage, well stocked and good quality products. Only little thing that could be improved is the garden. It was a bit tricky to walk around with the amount of overgrown bushes. Thanks.
Lovely, clean and cosy cottage, conveniently located for exploring the Shropshire hills and the Welsh borders etc. The garden is lovely and totally secure for our dog Melvyn, who loved lying on the decking whilst we drank tea and unwound. Whilst there is a train line at the bottom of the garden, the trains are very few and never intrusive. Finally, thanks to the host for the fabulous vegan gift pack very unexpected and very much appreciated We all look forward to staying again in the near future!
Alison
We really enjoyed our stay. The location of the cottage is ideal for us, close to the Offa Dyke walking path, the shops and station. We appreciated the snacks left for us after a long drive from London. Also, the cleaning products provided after my request. I was able to sit in the lovely garden and enjoy the peace and quiet on several days. This was our second stay in 6 months. I am sure we will be back!
Jacqueline
Myrtle villa is a really cosy and comfortable cottage. We loved the great big bath, perfect for a long soak after walks. We really appreciated the goodies that were left for us, thank you. The garden is lovely, especially for our dog as it was fully enclosed. It was also great to be able to do walks with our dog straight from the cottage and Knighton is a lovely friendly town with good amenities.
Comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Geoffrey
Well fitted out with plenty of information and maps of the area. The stairs are rather steep for old knees!
A lovely relaxing cottage, that wed like to return too!
Lorraine
We had a comfortable stay but there were a few little niggles. If you have any mobility issues, the stairs are narrow and quite steep with a turn at the top so care needs to be taken. Also the paths in the terraced garden were overgrown with vegetation but the patio was a lovely place to sit. The road outside is very narrow and the parking space is tight. There were no tea towels or hand towel in the kitchen and no hair dryer. It was a peaceful place to stay and the railway line was not a problem. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thank you to the owners for the welcome gift of wine and chocolates and bread.
