Bodaioch Cottage Reviews

We had a lovely stay, the size of the house was lovely, lots of secure parking, hot tub was a bonus, local pub was friendly and welcoming. The owners decorated the house for Xmas with a lovely tree in the front room. There was a few small issues, no dishing up spoons in kitchen, no colander to drain vegetables, the roasting trays all needed replacing and a lot of the cutlery all needed washing. The bathrooms needed some cleaning attention in the showersbath black mould which could easily been cleaned. The laminated flooring was quite damaged in places and also needs replacing .
We really had an amazing time. Beautiful house! Lovely to have cake and bread left for us. We will definitely be back . The only negative I would say cutlery a little short when you have a big meal all together. The Owner was on end of the phone when ever we needed her. Thank you
Loved our stay at the cottage Highly recommended
A lovely place and great amount of space and facilities. Easy communication and hassle free. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would recommend 100. P.s. thank you for leaving us cake, milk and bread
Stephen
Lovely property. Great hot tub. Beds were really comfy. Loved having the enclosed garden so we could relax having the kids & dogs outside and the games room was a huge bonus on the wet days. All issues we had leaky shower, cloudy water in the hot tub were resolved very quickly. Thank you.
The cottage was not very well maintained. The Flooring downstairs was damaged in numerous places. The Hot tub was in need of a major clean, but the book accompanying the property asked to let the owner know. Well if they cleaned the thing like every other property we have ever visited had they would be Aware of this! The book also went on to state the day of the bin collection, but as there was no room for our items due to every recycling bin already being full and left at the rear of the property when collection was at the entrance. We made several trips taking all the rubbish recycling to the correct location. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.
Such a lovely stay xx

We had a wonderful stay at Bodaioch cottage, Sam was super helpful when we were arriving and there was so much space for our party to settle in. We really appreciated the milk, bread, etc. when we arrived a lovely touch from the owner All bedrooms were as described and there were plenty of towels for all the guests too. We did find a few small cleaning issues when we first arrived, such as biscuit wrappers on one of the bathroom floors and dirtcrumbs underneath the dining room table, but this didn't affect our stay. We would suggest somewhere to hang coats would be beneficial, but otherwise the cottage was perfect for our needs.

Stunning property & views , so peaceful We noticed when we arrived that the floors werent cleaned properly & the hot tub needed a really good clean out as you could feel the dirt when you got in, as we were there for a week the hot tub should have been treated whilst we were there as by day 4 every morning it had a ring of dirt around the side. We also noticed parts of the house had damagewindows wouldnt shut properly All in all the house was what we wanted to celebrate a week away with the family for my 30th birthday. Not much too do local but if your happy to drive over an hour its lovely
We had a lovely week here as a family. No problems with the cottage at all. Had all we needed. Would be good to have more hooks around to hang things, like coats, towels, dressing gowns etc and shelving in the showers. But a great week in beautiful surroundings with lots of beautiful places to visit.

A beautiful house with everything you need to have a comfortable and fun stay. The garden with beautiful views and hot tub made it really special. The games room was also nice to have. Would like to return again.
The outside space at this cottage is faultless, large enclosed garden and lovely hot tub. It is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the inside really lets it down. Although it is spacious, it is very tired in some parts and really needs to be tidied up and thoroughly cleaned. There is plaster peeling off the walls in the kitchen and the kitchen is very grubby, particularly the floor, there was broken glass on the kitchen floor when we arrived, possibly from a beerwine bottle but not great with kids and dogs. There were also broken utensils, like the can opener and the knives were either missing rusty or dirty. The most off putting thing is that there are strips of fly catchers hanging from the ceilings throughout the property, full of flies and the one above the dining table was so full that flies were actually dropping onto the table. The upstairs is better, nice bed linen and comfortable beds but again things are broken. It also states that towels are provided but the majority of these are hand towels. There were not enough bath towels for us all. We go away with another family in Wales every year and this is the most expensive so far, we have stayed in cheaper properties that have been cleaner and better equipped, so overall just feel disappointed as the property could be easily improved to a better standard with some upgrades and maintenance.
Beautiful property ideal for our family get together! Will definitely be back!
Jessica
It was a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location, very clean and a bathroom in each bedroom made all the difference! Cute little games room with a diverse table to play table tennis, pool and air hockey. Lovely hot tub and large garden, lots of little lambs in the field next door! Would definitely recommend!
Great week spent in the cottage with all the family , only minor things to ... Great week spent in the cottage with all the family , only minor things to mention, it could do with some smaller saucepans and coat hooks , overall a fantastic place to stay
We stayed in February and the cottage and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful, the beds were like sleeping on clouds. The cottage has everything you need for a weeks stay and to facilitate cooking etc. The garden is beautiful and a large size, the only downside for us was the dog could escape through the hedge by the front gate but the rest is very enclosed. Would definitely recommend others stay but you would need your dog to be very good as they cannot go upstairs which can be a challenge as the stair way is too wide to put up a safety gate to stop them. Lovely stay, so peaceful and quiet. I would definitely book to go here again
Lucinda
The property was lovely as we're the owners. They were very helpful when needed and they even decorated the house with birthday banners and balloons as a request for a 30th birthday. The location was great for some fab days out and the house was spacious with plenty to keep us entertained. The whole family would stay again as they all loved it. Thank you.
Jessica
We had an amazing stay, the owner was really lovely and gave us a lot of information. The house was beautiful and comfortable and the surrounding areas was really nice, perfect for a relaxing stay.
Shabana
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, the facilities were great and we had everything we needed for our time there. The welcome essentials were much appreciated! The cottage was always warm and cosy, the games room was well used by adults and children and provided hours of fun! My only negative comment would be that it isn't advertised as being a semidetatched property. We only found out on the booking confirmation. This wasn't a problem but we would have preferred a detatched property with so many people you don't want to be thinking about disturbing the neighbours! Saying that, we would still go back in a heartbeat!
A beautiful cottage with tranquil surrounding views. Upon entering, it was warm and inviting. There were thoughtful gifts of bread, milk, and a lemon cake waiting for us too. We immediately felt at home and had plenty of space for us all to enjoy. Some areas of the cottage do require some TLC and attention. It's also worth noting that pets aren't allowed on the furniture or upstairs. This isn't mentioned in the description but is in the handbook upon arrival and may be helpful information to others looking to book. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bodaioch Cottage and would happily stay again.
Russel
We had a lovely time in the cottage, well maintained and well equipped. Could do with a stair gate for dogs but apart from that absolutely lovely. Hope to stay again some day.
Had a lovely week at Bodaich Cottage with my wife. Despite the rain, the cottage was cosy and warm. The living room fireplace and hot tub kept us warm, and there were plenty of walks to take the dog nearby. Easy to get to and nice and quiet area.
Excellent stay owner very helpful
Claire
A beautiful home away from home with plenty of space for 5 children to be free, play and explore. The house has everything we needed for our week long stay. The communication was great and I was able to contact if needed. Comfortable, homely and a stunning location.
Lesley
Really lovely cottage in a beautiful part of Wales. Lovely private garden and secure for our dog. We did have a few issues which were rectified immediately when we raised them with the owners. We feel the information pack could do with an update, with more instructions for the cooker, dishwasher and tv. The games room was a great hit with the grandchildren and there was plenty of space in the property for our large family. A great time was had by all. Thank you
Hannah
Stayed at the cottage for a surprise for my partners birthday with his parents, siblings and their partners and dog. The cottage was very easy to find and was better than we had all expected! It was lovely and spacious and very clean and the garden garden furniture and hot tub was an especially big hit with everyone as we were so lucky with the weather! The dining room and kitchen was big enough for us all comfortably cook and eat and we really felt at home. We also really enjoyed using the games room too! Having come from a busy city to be able to sit in such a peaceful garden with sheep grazing in the field next to it was just amazing. Communication with Sam was brilliant regarding getting the keys and checking inout. The little touches like welcome cake and bread was also fabulous! We all had such a brilliant weekend, can't fault it! We would all definitely recommend the cottage to friends and family and would love to return!
Kathryn
Absolutely beautiful cottage in the most stunning setting. Cottage was clean, had everything we needed and the welcome essentials were the loveliest touch. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would book again in a heartbeat!
Samantha
Absolutely lovely property surrounded by amazing views, would definitely go back again
When we arrived to the cottage we were blown away, the pictures do not do the property justice at all! The property is so much bigger in person and the 360 views surrounding the property were just the icing on the cake, every which way you look you are surrounded by rolling hills, absolute perfection! Everyone was in love with it so we will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful stay!
The cottage was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The group enjoyed the hot tub and games room. The location was great with a lovely walk to the village. Perfect break away.
Our stay was wonderful. Beautiful setting and the cottage and facilities were fantastic. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.
Heather
Beautiful setting. Cottage was warm & cosy. Kids loved the games room & hot tub was fab in the stunning garden. Beds so comfy. Definitely would return.
Catherine
We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend the house to others. All bedrooms have an ensuite so perfect for families and groups to have some privacy. We had amazing weather for March! And put the garden, hot tub and all the seating to good use. Garden is a proper sun trap! Loads of room for all eating together in the evening. A little shop opened in the village whilst we were there and is a easy 510min walk. We did a lovely circular walk from the house in to the village and back by the river. Owners are contactable if needed, and really helpful.
It was a lovely holiday, lovely house. would love to go back. all family members enjoyed. 10 out of 10.
Fantastic property. So homely and big enough for a large family like us. We celebrated New Year 2022 and it was fantastic. The cottage was super clean and Sam was very helpful. Definalty be returning! Thank you x
This cottage was lovely. It's very cosy and spacious with everything you need for a wonderful experience. There are beautiful views from the cottage, as well as a large hot tub and a great games room to keep the kids busy and happy. There's pool, air hockey and table tennis, as well as a TV in the games room and a separate toilet. All the bedrooms have a bathroom which is very convenient for everyone and plenty of space downstairs for breakfast in the kitchen, a large dining table for lunch and dinner and a comfy living room with a gorgeous fireplace to just relax in. The cottage had everything you need for cooking with an amazing large oven cooker in the kitchen, all the pots and pans large and small, and all the crockery you need for a large family. The cottage was very clean and immaculate. Outside the cottage is secure as it is gated so kids can play safely. The cottage is positioned in a lovely quiet area surrounded by breathtaking views and only a 15 min drive to the town centre Newtown which has lage supermarkets there, as well as other large and small retailers. Overall, we were very happy with our stay 7 night stay. The children and adults were very happy, so a win win experience for all. We would definitely recommend.
