We had a lovely stay at the firs cottage. We were very comfortable there. The beds were very comfortable and fresh clean bedding, towels and gowns. It felt super cosy. The owners were very helpful and easy to talk to. We enjoyed the fact they had everything in the kitchen which was extremely helpful with little one and cooking. We enjoyed the hot tub was very relaxing. We did have to de dust very high up on the ceilings in the bedroom due to around 20 spiders & dust. We understand its a lodge but we dont enjoy spiders above us in the bedroom The living area and 2nd bedroom bathrooms could have used a de dust high up. We thought the area was lovely and peaceful. OVERALL very satisfied with our stay. Thankyou very much.

The Firs is a fabulous two bedroom lodge with the outdoor and hot tub area overlooking Llyn y Fan in the valley bottom. The lodge is well equipped and spacious, with the owners always on hand if needed. We went during the heat wave in late June, so the hot tub became the cool tub where we could cool down while watching the antics of the newly fledged swallows learning flight techniques from their parents who nested in the front porch, also an abundance of Buzzards, Red Kites and Osprey, couldnt think of a better getaway to unwind and relax, with perfect unspoiled views all around, hope to be back soon, thank you.

The Firs was beyond what we were expecting. A perfect get away for a much needed rest to escape. Tucked away in the hills, with beautiful views. Surrounded by lovely walks, little villages and amazing scenery Just listening to the wildlife and watching the world go by at a snails pace was just what was wanted and why we got. The nearby town had everything that we needed to escape. We braved some of the snowcovered roads into the hills and reservoirs. The nearby forest was overrun with people jumping on the back of social media posts highlighting its beauty, but I guess thats the price of fame. Perfect is a word often used on reviews, but The Firs was perfect for us. There were probably things that were wrong, and the place wont suit everyone, but for us, we didnt experience any negatives. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. The beds were comfortable. The seating area and kitchen were immaculate. The outside space was amazing, with a hot tub and a small place to escape the wind and rain. Yes it rained, but, to listen and watch the rain fall over the hills, was relaxing. Then seeing the snow on top of the surrounding hills, was a picture perfect sight. We are already planning our return as we really feel we stumbled on our happy place.

Absolutely superb. The lodge is in a really tranquil spot with glorious views. It's been built and furnished to a very high standard whilst the hot tub is a lovely bonus. Very friendly owners. We will be back!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Had a little package when we got there but would have preferred a little milk and some tea or coffee after such a long journey as well. The cleaning side was ok, lots of big cobwebs in the bedroom above the beds and in the bathrooms. Just a slight overlook. Hot tub was amazing though and couldn't fault the view or the owners who were so lovely and attentive

Lots to explore locally and a bit further afield such as dolphin spotting boat trip, pony trekking and Devils bridgetrain ride. Tom was very welcoming, kind and friendly. The lodge was fabulous, 5 star luxury all the way and the views were breathtaking, something very special. The hot tub was the icing on the cake! This holiday gave us a much needed relaxing stay, and had the benefit of feeling submerged in the countryside, but with a lovely town just 10 minutes away, it was perfect. The town has lots of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops, really enjoyed our many visits to it. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a luxury 5 star break, with amazing views and a hot tub to relax in too. We will definitely be back!

My friend and I stayed 3 nights from 5th August. We have never stayed in a more fantastic place. The luxury compares to any first class hotel and the views are to die for. Tom the owner was so friendly and helpful. A little late posting this review, unfortunately fell and broke my hip first day home. Will certainly be booking The Firs again. What an absolutely beautiful setting and lovely lodge. Peaceful and good for the soul the bird and wild life was fantastic both around the lodge and the surrounding areas. The views are breathtaking, the hot tub was fabulous and the accommodation very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The only extra things we will take on our next visit will be a sharp carving knife and an egg poacher I don't like fried eggs! Tom gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival and Emma was very helpful. We went into Llanidoes to Chartists 1770 in Trewythen Hotel for Sunday lunch to celebrate one of our party having her birthday and had a superb meal it's so easy and quick to get to too.

It was a lovely relaxing holiday, we loved watching all the birds whilst in the hot tub. The view from the lodge was breath taking. The scenery in Mid Wales was fantastic. Elan Valley is really worth a visit.

Had a brilliant holiday. The lodge is perfect, very clean and comfortable. It is maintained to a very high standard, with everything you need. Tom is lovely and friendly and very helpful. What a fantastic lodge with stunning views. A warm welcome from the owner who gave us information about walks from the property. Very well equipped would benefit from a clothes airer, a sieve and kitchen scales. Plenty to do in the area within a short drive. The hot tub was lovely to relax in at the end of a busy day. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a fantastic week staying at The Firs. The pictures dont do the lodge and the setting justice, its so peaceful and the lodge is clean and decorated to provide a home from home experience. It has everything needed. The hot tub was fantastic and it was perfect to sit and admire the amazing view and the abundance of wildlife around. We spent our days exploring Wales, and the hosts were very helpful in guiding us with places to visit, and even rescuing us when we got lost on a walk in the hills. As a family of four we throughly enjoyed the time we spent here and will helpfully be returning soon!

A lovely welcome and a lovely property. Everything there that we required however, one of the bedrooms could do with having a set of drawers in nowhere to put clothes that didn't hang up only 1 shelf in the wardrobe. The other bedroom the ensuite shower room the toilet lidseat was annoying as it would not stay up. That said, the lodge is a wonderful place to stay gorgeous views and the hot tub a bonus. Plenty of space and everything we needed in the kitchen. Owners seemed to have thought of everything. We'd definitely recommend a stay here. The town of Llanidloes is a lovely place go to the Cobblers Tea Room and you won't be disappointed but make sure you visit the toilet there too!! The Angel Inn for a meal is a must. Many thanks for a lovely stay just what we all needed.

Fantastic property for anyone who wants to have a break in a beautiful part of Wales. Every need catered for in the cabin, with lots of little extras. The view was amazing, with lots of birdlife visiting the bird table on the property. Tastefully furnished with lots of lovely touches. Hot tub was a bonus, overlooking the fantastic view. Great base for exploring the whole of Wales, including Portmerion, Powis Castle , and New Quay where they do great boat trips looking for dolphins and wildlife.

I am so pleased with our stay at the firs, we stayed there as a bunch of friends for the weekend and had an amazing time, the hosts were lovely and accommodating to us. The actual cottage was even better than expected! It had everything we needed and more. We brought our own food to have during the whole stay which was catered for by the equipment however there are more than enough shops in the local village if you needed supplies which is a 5 minute drive away. Brilliant views in the hot tub and viewing areas around the property, the only thing I would recommend is to move the bird feeder as it does block the views a little bit from the hot tub
