Caerau Farm House Reviews

A lovely, warm, quirky and comfortable cottage with a very dogproof garden. Unfortunately the weather didn't offer any let up so the dogs spent more time than we did enjoying the snowdrops! The cottage is clean and comfortable. The only tiny criticism is there was no coffee pot for us coffee addicts, and maybe an extra mug wouldn't go amiss if there had been 4 of us we would have had to share! Other than that a great little cottage. Excellent communication with Emily who is super helpful and friendly.
Cottage was lovely ,clean and cosy especially when fire was alight, Bird song ... Cottage was lovely ,clean and cosy especially when fire was alight, Bird song was all you could hear, Dogs loved the walks across fields Looking forward to returning
Ronald
Really happy with the house. Very clean thanks to Emily and comfortable and good heating plus wood fire.Could do with little bit of maintainance in bathroom but the quality of everything was lovely in kitchen and elsewhere. Very quiet and private . Never saw a car or a person all week. What else can I say except perfect for us at the right price Thanks.
From start to finish absolutely love this cottage location is perfect seclusion ... From start to finish absolutely love this cottage location is perfect seclusion but not isolation llandioes 3 mile away walks are amazing views to die for bedding towels etc first class fire so cozy at night heating WiFi spot on for those who appreciate character quirky knick knacks a feel of stepping back in time your going to embrace this lovely home well done Emily for contact when we needed you xxxx

We were attending a wedding nearby so the location was most important to us. We liked the feel of the cottage and our dogs did not escape the enclosed garden spaniels need I say more? A very enjoyable stay thank you. I have said the accuracy of the listing is not 100 because the cottage exceeded our expectation.
Stacey
Fantastic stay, lovely country side right on your door step, will differently come again.
Thank you. We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was brimming with aged, yet welcoming character and provided us with all the requirements and comforts necessary. It was well maintained, comfortable and warm. One recommendation a smaller sized tv would compliment the size and wonderful character of the living room. A second recommendation check this cottage out for yourself. It's lovely!
Carolyn
We really enjoyed our stay, the area is beautiful, cottage is very quirky, warm n comfy. But loo flush very stiff n hurt my wrist, but that's the only concern. Would more than likely visit the cottage again. Thankyou.
Lovely comfortable property, very unique, quiet and secluded, the driveway to the property can be a little difficult to find but persevere we arrived quite late when it was dark so got a little lost on way up drive. All amenities are available would recommend some oven gloves. All expectations of a little farmhouse, a lovely back garden, nice patio area for a bbq. Will definitely be back.
Lovely period property. At over6ft The low beam caught me out a few times. Very cozy and lovely beds however the downstairs toilet at the other end of the property was not ideal when you need to go a few times at night. The kitchen smelt of heating oil at times and was very noisy when it kicked in a 6am waking us and the dogs up too early each morning
Elaine
Lovely cottage, clean and comfy, had everything we needed, but it would really benefit from a new bathroom.
Robert
We are a family of two adults and two children and have just returned from a great week staying in Caerau farmhouse. It was definitely on the more rustic side of what we are normally used to for our cottage getaways, but once the house warmed up and we settled in it was really cosy and snug. House is quirky and we liked it, once used to it. The surrounding area has lots to do and see and the mountain roads to both Machylenneth and Aberystwyth the latter via Ellan Valley also worth visiting were spectacular. Hafren Forest also really worth visiting. Llandiloes is a nice large village has everything you need and loads of pubs. Didn't want to leave. We will definitely come back to both the house and the area.
Tricia
Very quirky old style cottage but in a fab location with ample parking and does everything you need for a great holiday. Full of character and low ceilings so make sure you duck for doorways !! We used it as a base for Golfing but also a good base for all other activities plus towns and coastline.
This cottage is like stepping back in time, but it so works. Quaint lovely cottage, clean and welcoming. Our 2 dogs were relaxed and happy here. There are caravans all around the cottage but we didnt hear a thing and the garden is private and safe for dogs at the rear. Lovely location to recharge the battery!! Hafren Forest is fab for walking the dogs. Not far from town, so picked up Fish and chips and Chinese phoned through both nice if you dont want to cook. Would return for weekend get a way.
On the day of travel we were informed that the log burner was out of order. This was a huge disappointment as it was one of only two important search criteria for us when booking and we'd purchased logs for our stay. On arrival we couldn't access the key safe. We rang the contact and a man came out promptly to help us, however he couldn't access it either. Eventually we got in. The inside of the cottage was nice and traditional, however every room is covered in thick dusty, old cobwebs from eye level and above. We honestly had never seen so many cobwebs! Door handles, switches and light pulls were very grubby and the lid of the loo doesn't stay up. The lounge is cosy and upstairs there's plenty of space. Sleep was not good though as every morning a noisy boiler fired up at 6.30am. The boiler makes the bed shake! This could be a lovely cottage as the location and privacy is great, but it needs a thorough deep clean.
Just had two week stay at this lovely, comfortable and a bit quirky cottage and absolutely loved it. Our two dogs enjoyed the garden as did we. The most comfortable and cosy cottage we have stayed in. Beautiful countryside with Hafren Forest within half hour away and well worth a visit. Our satnav postcode did not take us to the cottage but What3Words did which are thinkers.insolvent.intruded so put into Waze or Apple Maps. Also the directions said new chapel, but the little sign actually says Newchapel, depending on which way you come to it the sign is just before or after the Riverside Cafe also worth a visit. Thank you to Emily and Mr Price for your help. We would stay again and recommend to friends and family.
Myself and my 2 grandchildren had a fabulous week, the cottage was cosy and had everything we needed, it was a very quiet location with only a short drive to town. We visited Powys castle, Borth beach, Elan Valley and Quackers. The garden was lovely and they had a great time playing in it, with birds, squirrels and rabbits visiting. I highly recommend a stay there and will go again
We found this perfectly suited for our party of three, none of us over 5'6. Taller people might have to duck in some doorways and a fourth person would be a squeeze on the living room sofa in the dining table corner, though certainly manageable. Although holiday homes surround the property, we forgot they were there, and our little bit of landscape felt very private and secluded, shared only with rabbits. The building is very rustic, with uneven floors and sounds travelling straight through the ceiling to the room above however, that's what we want out of a holiday cottageit'd be a pain to live with long term, but it's a fun quirk for a few days, and all the facilities were good. We appreciated the spaciousness of the layout, with three different sitting room areas, and how dog friendly it was with zero traffic and a bit of garden, it was perfect for our labrador puppy on his first family holiday.
Lovely cottage in lovely setting Nice enclosed garden Furniture a little old ... Lovely cottage in lovely setting Nice enclosed garden Furniture a little old fashioned but suited the cottage Very clean and well maintained Kitchen well equipped a few missing bits like a colander Walks for the dog right outside the door Plenty of parking Only down side although comfortable the bed is only a standard double in a large bedroom plenty big enough for a kingsize This did, in no way effect our stay All in all really loved our little break here Thank you
Dominic
We enjoyed our stay both for the location and the cottage. Compared to other places we have stayed we feel this requires a bit of TLC but has all the facilities necessary with a lot of character. It was a relaxing and peaceful area with access to lots of interesting places and history nearby.
We found the accommodation lovely, very quaint with loads of character and very cosy. The beds were comfortable it had plenty of hot water a good kitchen with everything we needed. A lovely garden very quiet and loads of wildlife around to watch. Handy for places to travel to and would definitely recommend a stay there. We had a great week and lucky with the weather. It was very good indeed could not fault a thing.
Could do with king size bed for two adults to sleep in double small also would be good to have a TV in the main Bedroom so if you want to relax with TV and have a early night to watch Tv you can most properties today have these in bedrooms and could do with a more intense clean right through property kitchen cupboards in side a general clean everything else in property cobwebs I kitchen ceiling especially an that is were good is prepared if these issues was done would make this property very good but needs doing.
Fabulous homely rustic cottage. Lovely and cosy with very good facilities and lovely comfortable beds. Excellent safe secure garden at the rear for dogs. Spectacular views and a variety wildlife all on your doorstep. Very well located for the friendly village of Llanidloes will good local shops, amenities and a Saturday market.
Philip
Second stay here and already booked a third. Love this cottage it's warm and comfortable and has everything you need. Our dogs love it here too. It's a nice peaceful location but not too far from shops. There are some lovely places to visit within a short drive. Would recommend this cottage to friends and family
All was like in the website information just weather could be better Thank you for lovely staying
Philip
Absolutely lovely cottage warm and cosy and full of character. fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. extremely comfortable beds. a very peaceful spot to stay in a very nice location. Poor mobile reception but having the included WiFi solved this problem for us. great secure garden for the dogs who loved this place as much as us. its a great base for exploring the surrounding area, Hafren forest is only about 10 miles away and is a very nice spot for a walk. Would definitely recommend this cottage so much so we have booked it again as soon as we got home.
The cottage was bigger than we expected, and had a lovely fully enclosed garden which was great for our two little dogs to roam freely in. It was very quiet, as wed hoped for. I would recommend.
Lovely warm cosy cottage, well equipped, clean and comfy in a beautiful surrounding, close to town Llanidloes, close to Elan Valley, Hefren Forest, Llyn Clywedog Reservoir. We had the most gorgeous time ! Thank you !
Carolyn
Cottage was very warm and welcoming, both Carol, the agent, and Norman, the owner, were very helpful and friendly, the location was perfect, close to a lovely little town but remote enough to feel like a perfect family weekend getaway and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of sheep! Would certainly recommend and return.
Heather
Great comfy cottage, good welcome and would book again. Could make the directions to find a bit clearer is all! Turn at the sign to New Chapel, not at a new chapel which suggests one is looking for a church!
Loved the beautiful farmhouse. It was cosy and very comfortable. Spent a lot of time there as the weather wasnt good would highly recommend.
