Stunning house in a stunning location, obviously being April it rained for 3 days of our stay so we got the logburner going each evening and Kayleigh kindly supplied us with extra logs to help keep the evenings warm and toasty in the delightful sitting room, even in the rain the views and area are stunning and having such a beautiful house to relax in made it a great holiday.
Great place to stay as ever well equipped and friendly owners. Good value too Neil & Sally
Beautiful property set in a beautiful location, everything you could possibly need. Views were stunning, sun rises especially. Nice and central for visiting different places. I would highly recommend a stay here couldn't fault it. Loved the log burner made it feel so cozy. Thank you so much for a great holiday.
Gillian
Absolutely brilliant just what we needed pure tranquility. Beautiful cottage surrounded by the most amazing views.
A very clean cottage, extremely spacious, remote and on a working farm. Glorious views from one aspect and livestock from the other. Walks from the front door and we didn't see any one else for the 11k on either. If we missed anything it would have been a pub, warm fire and lunch to finish the day off. But the 7 days flew by and we loved every minute of our stay.
Andrew
A great property run by a lovely family. The cottage was clean and included everything we needed. The layout really worked for our group of five. The views from the rear of the property are stunning. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. We had the best time and would love to stay again.
Stephen
We had a fantastic stay at the Old House. The house was very clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. The local area is great for walking and cycling.
Lovely house nice views. Beds comfy maybe could do with new pillows has bit lumpy. Plenty of logs for the fire all week..Freezer was switched off and had stinky fish in it so maybe needs checking at cleaning switchover . Would go again
We had a wonderful stay in a very peaceful location. The views are stunning. The squeaky floorboards took a bit of getting used to, but otherwise a fantastic house!
Second visit to this property. Great property in a great location. Highly recommend it.
Lovely owners very friendly and helpful. great cottage
Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a fantastic location, views are breathtaking. Spotlessly clean, home from home cottage, had all you needed and more! Although it has the remote feel it is only 3 miles hour walk longer on the way back as uphill from the local town. We wished we could have stayed longer & will definitely be back!
Cheryl

Lovely property, extremely comfortable and wellstocked. Fabulous views and good walking close by. Very friendly hosts, unobtrusive but readily available if needed. We were very lucky with the weather but it didnt stop us lightning the fire in the evening, so cosy!
Heather
Absolutely loved our stay at the old house. Couldn't fault it, everything was spotless, comfortable and cosy. Very reasonably priced and no hidden costs. Being shown round the farm, seeing the animals in springtime and learning about the farm was an added bonus. Kayleigh and Stuart were beyond helpful and happy to help where needed.
Beverley
Lovely comfortable cottage, with everything you need. We were lucky to have sunny weather in November so enjoyed the stunning views even more. Nice linen and towels. Its on our 'to return' to list for the summer to enjoy G&T's on the patio. Some saucepans were in need of replacing, and we reported this to the owner.
Comfortable cottage with great views. Excellent cleanliness and well equipped. Woodburner made it very cosy in the evenings Kayleigh was friendly and helpful
Had a fab holiday at The Old House. When we arrived we were amazed by the stunning views and as we got out of the car a Red Kite flew over, which was a highlight for me. The views from the house is stunning, rolling hills everywhere. The Old House is very spacious with lovely furnishings, a fab wood burner and the bed was very comfy. All rooms have stunning, far reaching views. Kayleigh and Stuart were very friendly and welcoming
Thoroughly comfortable cottage, wonderful location and in a great part of Wales. Host was very pleasant and informative. Would love to go agian.
Edward
An amazing holiday cottage in a beautiful location which is even better than the pictures in real life. We had the most wonderful fortnight staying here and did not want to leave. The house was incredibly spacious and clean and contained everything you could need for a relaxing selfcatering holiday. The views were incredible both during the day and at night we were even lucky enough to see some ospreys flying overhead. Kayleigh, the owner was wonderfully welcoming and our children were fascinated to learn more about the farm and the animals. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone and will return!
Andrew
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old House. The house was fantastic with outstanding views. The hosts were superb, very friendly and on hand if we needed anything. We would certainly consider booking again. Thank you!
Kirsten
Excellent property, warm and very comfortable, well equipped and loads of space. The bedroom with the ensuite is the other end of the upstairs landing with the other 2 bedroom adjacent to the other bathroom, this worked perfectly for us as myself and kids where one end and grandparents that came with us the other. Quality of the furniture is great and it is well thought out. Great central location to explore central wales. Would highly recommend.
Irene Pamela
Absolutely stunning views and the house was fabulous, clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Kayleigh was very welcoming and left some delicious Welsh treats for when we arrived. We visited the dams and the red kites was well worth a visit. All in all a relaxing break away
Stephanie
An absolutely amazing property, making our New Year family get together the most special time! The cleanliness of the accommodation was superb, making us feel extra safe with Covid still being a concern. The property had absolutely everything we could have needed, and more! Lastly, the host Kayleigh was the most welcoming lady and made sure we had everything we needed. I would 100 recommend this property in any season, as it is super cosy with the log burner in the winter, and has gorgeous views outside and a lovely area to enjoy outside in the summer.
This is our second visit to The Old House in less than a year. We have never revisited a selfcatering place, which speaks volumes for this place. Outstanding views. Lovely location. Spacious.
Beautiful, spacious cottage, in a lovely location.
The property is amazing. Very spacious, comfortable beds, the whole place is exceptionally clean and the views are just incredible. The owners are fabulous, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Kayleigh came to see us just after we got there and before we left. She was genuinely interested in how we had found the place and pleased that we liked it so much. Thanks for a great stay!
Rachael
The cottage is beautiful, cosy and spacious, with a good amount of kitchenware, and loo roll soap etc. The views are stunning and theres plenty to explore with a short or longer trip out in the car. Kayleigh and Stuart were really welcoming and friendly, with good tips about the local area. We will definitely be back!
A beautiful cottage in a very quiet location, perfect
Wonderful views from house. Felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived. Great to be able to leave the car behind and walk direct from the house. The first selfcatering place we have stayed in that my husband would like to revisit. High praise indeed!
Pamela
The setting of the cottage is stunning very peaceful with no light pollution for stargazing on clear nights. All that will disturb your sleep will be the odd owl. Directions from Llanidloes should be followed to the letter and satnav ignored then it is easy to find trhe cottage. Kayleigh made us very welcome and we were sorry to have to leave.
We loved our stay at The Old House. We received an extremely warm welcome from Kayleigh, who together with her husband, made sure throughout the week that we had everything we needed. The old farmhouse was really well equipped and an extremely comfortable and relaxing place to stay in we really felt at home. We loved collapsing in front of the blazing log burner at the end of each day. The views from the house are stunning and the attractive nearby town of Llanidloes has a great variety of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are so many places to walk in the area Llyn Clywedog is beautiful, with lots of walks, and the walk to the source of the River Severn was stunning but strenuous, the Hafren Forest has so many trails. A short drive away from the house there are also small, attractive ruined castles and small towns to explore There is so much to do in the area and we couldnt have had a better base from which to explore.
