Bridgend Cottages Reviews

Grayson
We have stayed in many properties over the years and Bridgend Cottages has to be one of the nicest properties we have stayed at. It was very clean, spacious, tidy, warm and comfortable. Thank you.
We had a lovely holiday in spite of the weather the house was very comfortable only one slight problem was the toilet seat in the ensuite needed attention and the bathroom floor was very slippery but put a towel down to stop me slipping. The Drovers opposite was very good . The Elan resovoir was beautiful and the visit to St Fagans was a good day out and was free just pay for parking
Lovely place, comfortable stay, good location. Well stocked kitchen. Nice and peaceful. Had some issues with dirty towels and bedding but owner responded straight away and offered a discount voucher if we were to return. Otherwise very clean. Nice Thai restaurant across the road but not impressed with the Golden Dragon Chinese. Lots of flies so wonder if some kind of fly trap might help? Would definitely recommend a stay here.
We were 3 octogenarians, who had come to the RWAS show and would be home by about 8. Oclock in the evening, and found the property clean and comfortable. We were disappointed that we could not get S4C or BBC on the TV. There were programmes on the show in the evenings which were hoping to watch, but could not manoeuvre our way to the basic channels. All we could get were films etc. Neither could we get radio Cymru. We had to pay a young man to come and helps us one evening. Some simple written basic instruction would have solved hours of frustration and disappointment. We Emailed the owner, but did not receive a reply. Before our holiday we did attempt to ring Sykes and the owner of the property on a number of occasions but with no result were cut off and were encouraged to go on line. As a result we did not have the twin beds which we had requested. We have had holiday cottages ourselves for many years and always welcome our guests and are available to sort any minor problems at all times. We do not have frustrated guests because of minor problems as we encountered.

We tried for over a month to extend our stay by one night first through VRBO who we booked through and then directly through Sykes. Took days to even get a response then very little follow up. When we did finally get an answer it was that the owner hadn't responded. Once we got to the rental we were able to email the owner directly who said that they had responded to Sykes several weeks earlier. The contacted Sykes and we finally got an answer that same day. Communication with Sykes was a major issue. The rest of the stay was great.

This is a little gem of a cottage, everything you need to hand, including a Thai restaurant across the road, I'm sure we will be back sometime in the near future.
Stacey
A really beautiful house. So well equipped....we like to cook but rarely find places with the pans & tools to get creative. This house has it all. A lot of thought has gone into every aspect and it was perfectly clean too . The garden is just a nice sized terrace with garden furniture but then the house is plum in the middle of miles of stunning Welsh countryside so all good. Thank you for a very comfortable few days.
Beverley
The heated towel rail, the light and the shaver point inside the bathroom cabinet were not working. The owners were made aware and were waiting for maintenance. This was the second time weve used the property and the first time it was perfect.
Jessica
Lovely spacious cottage, perfect stay for 2 couples. The kitchen had everything we needed and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Would definitely return & recommend.
An absolutely superb property in every way. The attention to detail, the well stocked kitchen, the decent Internet connection and even a desk with a monitor. We were also amused that there were exactly three flies at all times, despite swatting at least twelve D
Caroline
It was a beautifully well appointed cottage. Very comfortable bed and had everything in it we wanted. Highly recommended.
We loved Bridgend Cottage and it was exactly what we needed. The photos were highly accurate so all was really good. In terms of feedback, the lighting we found really far too bright an investment in dimmers would be worth its weight in gold! Also of the three wall radiators upstairs only one worked we called the owner 2x and he talked us through what to do, but unfortunately the heaters didn't stay on. My parents were quite cold most of the time upstairs which was a bit of a shame. Otherwise everything was great and we would certainly stay again in a warmer season!. Karen & Yann
Maxine
Excellent property. Modernised to a high standard. Facilities are brilliant, spacious accommodation, comfy sofas, beautiful bathrooms, the kitchen has everything you may need and loads of crockery & cutlery so you never run out when the dishwashers on. Only negative we could think of was the bifold doors to the patio needs attention after the wet winter and you have to be careful because the chairs can slipped down grill on patio....but very minor points in such a lovely place. There is limited road side parking but loads of parking round the corner if needed. Would have give it all 5 stars but the cleaner left a bottle of milk from previous guest...which had gone off. Windows and patio door could do with a bit of a clean n re paint. But these were small things and did not affect our holiday or our over all opinion of this 5 start accommodation. Thank you would definitely stay again.
A really lovely house. Very clean, with every facility you could ask for. Perfectly placed for walking the Elan Valley and the Wye Valley. Both very lovely especially in the sunshine which we were fortunate to get. The parking isn't great, and the bathroom does get very wet when using the shower but very minor points.
Lovely holiday at Bridgend Cottage everything you need is there. Elan Valley trail is superb as are the Red Kite feeding stations.
