Pines Pitch Reviews

Duncan
Excellent property in a very peaceful location. Pictures don't do it justice as sofa's have been changed, now bigger and comfortable. Also appliances have been updated, plus some decoration and TLC. Plenty of space in the secure grounds, including the woods to the rear which the dog loved exploring Enjoyed it a lot and will be back
Shelley
If you want peace and comfort then we definitely recommend this place. Couldn't fault it at all. We took our 3 dogs and they absolutely loved the freedom and space in the very secure grounds. We will definitely be back
Graeme
Amazing place for a relaxing break, stunning location, and has everything you need. Would love to come back again
As a family we had a great stay it was better than what we expected and we would recommend Pines Pitch for a great stay .
Gorgeous property excellent stay
Rowena
Absolutely loved our stay here, from the wonderful aga, the amazing hot tub we did get some beautiful skies at night the super comfy beds and bedding. The well equipped kitchen although a bigger coffee pot would be useful for 6 The cabin is really warm and cosy. I loved going round opening the curtains in the mornings to all the beautiful views. Nestled among beautiful trees it felt magical. We found some lovely walks close by and am already looking forward to going back.
Pines Pitch is a beautiful and tranquil place, offering plenty of walking opportunities. The accommodation is spacious enough for six people, including a baby room. The owner is very friendly, making our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend a holiday here. The only improvement we suggest is better maintenance of the cabin, as the exterior wood doesnt look as new and shiny as in the advert photos. Despite this, we absolutely love it here!
This accommodation was just perfect for our family break away Peace and traquility was what we wanted and this fit the brief perfectly. Perfect place for relaxation but be prepared to travel a bit for things to do all just a short car journey away. Will be back again
Loved the property and its surroundings, it suited us being in the middle of countryside but may not suit everyone. Think it would be best to tell people more about the location. We also found it really cold the first 24 hours. As the booking was winter time I would of hoped that the heating would of been on to make the cabin cosy and warm on arrival, however it wasnt and it took over 24 hours for it to warm through. Also its advertised with a log burner but is no good if there are no logs to use! Had to phone and ask and again didnt come until the next morning! Had to purchase more kindling too.
Our second time staying at pines pitch, we loved it just as much as we did the first time. I definitely wouldn't recommend for people that don't have their own vehicle as shops and town are quite a distance from the cabin.
Daniel
Fantastic! Only downfall is the difficulty to get to and from the local areas. Taxi driver charged us 100 return to go to Knighton and back and we didnt have much other choice as everywhere else no availability. Found this crazy as its at 25 min round trip! Cabin was amazing and comfortable. Thanks
What a wonderful week we have had whilst staying at Pine Lodge. A lovely log cabin in beautiful tranquil surroundings. The property was spotlessly clean throughout. The beds were very comfortable with really good quality linen too. The only issue we had was the downstairs shower wasn't ideal for myself, being disabled it was difficult to climb into and get out again. The toilet seat was also very loose. Upstairs was a wet room which would have been perfect to have downstairs for disabled users. However we managed and still had a wonderful week and now feeling very relaxed.
We very much enjoyed our stay. A great location and very quiet. It had everything we needed. We can certainly recommend your property to others.
Gareth
It would have been good to have information on how to turn on items as we failed to notice the switch for the water heater, which had been turned off, so had to call the maintenance man ? The property is looking tired with window frames now starting to rot ?
Really good property, beautiful quiet location. Great walking nearby. Enclosed garden is secure for your average dog, but our Scottish Terrier thinks he's Houdini so made it his mission to find the smallest gap he could escape through. For larger dogs and less adventurous ones no issue. After his second escape we kept him on a long training lead and had no issues. The other three were just happy to mooch around. The lodge is in a dark skies area, so on a clear night you are treated to a stunning display, so many stars.
Elizabeth
So peaceful. Really spacious. There were 3 of us but it would accommodate 6 easily. When I booked it I thought I'd booked an accessible cottage. It does have a downstairs bedroom and bathroom but it's not really accessible, The outside area is huge , lots of garden furniture and the hot tub. At night you can hear the owls and other wildlife. Just wonderful.
On the whole a fantastic place great support from the owners exceptionally clean lodge however it would be great if the water in the hot tub was changed before arrival. Would stay again if this was the case.
We had a nice time staying at pines pitch. Despite a few imperfections we would still like to come over again and recommend for others. What we had missed no hot water on the ground floor shower, no wood logs for fireplace, as well someone came over to trim the grass in the morning while we were still sleeping and resting.
Great place for a quiet get away. Had everything we needed, and the hot tub is a great addition to the property. Over all a great place to stay.
Andrew
Absolutely loved our stay at Pines Pitch. Really relaxing and had everything there that we needed. Would definitely recommend to friends and family looking for somewhere to stay.
Some kitchen utensils need replacing and an bc additional comfortable chair in the lounge would be good. The toilet seat doesnt fit properly and the correct size should be fitted. Other than that excellently appointed
This was an excellent holiday, the property was better than we expected and the area was perfect. We would recommend this place to anyone.
Bridget
Overall we had a lovely stay at Pines Pitch. The house was spotless and generally well equipped. The quality of furnishing is generally excellent and there is plenty of storage. However, a few extra thoughtful touches would make all the difference and the property could do with some TLC. There is only seating for four in the lounge and as previously mentioned, the sofa is difficult to sit on. One of our party of five adults sat on the floor in preference! The hot tub is a great asset, however we recommend taking your own towels as only one small towel per person is provided and you are asked to shower before using it. The garden is not dog proof and we had to keep ours on leads all week. There are no extra little touches as we have had in previous Sykes properties such as a welcome pack or fresh flowers.
Emilia
Had such a lovely stay, we loved the location it was so serene and tranquil was a lovely break the beds were the comfiest we have all ever slept in we have the pillows on order however some things Id change would be the furniture sofa in the lounge not comfy but gaps in the decking are huge, items will be lost. Great stay over all though would definitely come again.
Loved the place! Beds very comfortable and location perfect. The whole stay was just what was needed. The only fault and when I say fault it was tolerable but the settee and chairs in the living room where not very comfortable at all. All in all we a really enjoyed our mini break and would certainly love to come back some day.
Andrea
This property is beautiful, private and exactly what we hoped for. It would have been nice to have some instructions in relation to the fire and aga but luckily a previous resident had left some for the aga. The seating in the living room is not fit for purpose as it is not comfortable for 6 adults and there was an issue with the upstairs bathroom which I did notify the owner of but as we stayed at Christmas we did not expect it to be fixed and we used the other room. That being said the beds were very comfortable and it was clear time and money had gone into the thought process. The garden is not secure for small dogs as I found out but it is lovely. It was superb to be able to sit in the hot tub Christmas day with no other noise around just beautiful scenery. We would definitely go back
Timothy

Michael

Deborah

Fabulous views, lovely cabin, just an amazing holiday
Beautiful well equiped cottage set in a quiet location. Hot tub was lovely and clean and looked out across the fields so very secluded. Everything you could possibly need was provided for your comfort. Would highly recommend if you're looking to get away and just relax.
