Is The Old Rectory Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
The snug provides a dedicated space where children aged 10-13 can hang out independently. A small playhouse in the garden proves popular with younger guests. The family room includes a single bed suitable for children only alongside a king-size bed. Books and games are provided throughout the property. Nearby attractions include Kington Small Breed Farm Park and Owl Centre.
For Couples
This property is not ideal for couples. The Old Rectory is designed as a large family home with four bedrooms and multiple living spaces. The scale and layout suit multi-generation gatherings rather than intimate breaks. Couples would find the property too large and better suited to groups. The rural location offers peace but the property itself caters to families.

One well-behaved dog is welcome at The Old Rectory. The enclosed rear garden with lawn provides safe outdoor space for your pet to relax and play. Countryside walks start directly from the property through fields and along the River Lugg. The owner keeps friendly dogs (Paula and Pippa) at the adjacent farm. The Old Rectory Reviews

Lovely cottage, full of character. Big bedrooms and warm and cosy, all set in beautiful surroundings. It is opposite the owners farm.so expect some farm related noises on occasion but to us it was up there with one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
Dont really want to recommend this property as we would rather keep it for ourselves! Perfect for six of us as a base for a motorsport weekend. Beautiful old house but with all the benefits of mod cons. Very accommodating hostess and plenty of room for our needs. This was our third time here and hopefully there will be many more.
Rafael
Just lovely. The house is extremely comfortable and there's absolutely nothing missing. The peace and quiet is unbelievable! The owner was so helpful and kind and we will be back for sure.
Unfortunately, the condition of the accommodation fell far short of the standards we reasonably expected based on your listing. The property was in a wholly unacceptable state and clearly had not been adequately cleaned or maintained prior to our arrival. The list of issues is extensive and includes the following Dangerous glass fragments inside the oven. Dining chairs and drawers were broken and unusable. The bedding was dirty, which we had to strip and change ourselves. The garden was in disrepair, with piles of grass left on the patio and a childrens slide submerged in overgrown foliage. The house was heavily infested with insects we counted 88 spiders, over 100 flies, around a dozen moths, and even found bluebottles in the fridge. Cobwebs covered the ceilings, which we had to hoover ourselves it felt more appropriate for Halloween than a summer break. The property was not cleaned, it smelled unpleasant, surfaces were sticky, and the floors were clearly unvacuumed. A curtain rail was broken, and the cooker hood light was not working. The furniture was dated, and in many cases, poorly maintained or broken. We were forced to spend over four hours cleaning the property upon arrival just to make it habitable. The shower leaked, causing water to spread across the floor. Windows and ledges were filthy, covered in what looked like months worth of bird droppings. There were faulty lights in the hallway and bathroom. To add to the concern, we even found an asthma inhaler under one of the beds a clear sign that no proper cleaning had taken place. These conditions were both unhygienic and unsafe, and had a significant impact on what was meant to be a relaxing weekend break.

We loved the house , brilliant for a family get together , all the rooms were of a good size , the living room especially fantastic for all getting together , our grandsons loved the little playhouse in the garden .
Everything was fine, though some instruction for the oven would have helped.
Lovely property, peaceful location
There were a number of cobwebs and the outside table was filthy. The walk in shower was too hot to use and could not be altered. Only one toilet had a lock that worked. The house was very spacious for all of us. Lovely walks nearby and very central for visits to Leominster, Ludlow, Presteigne, Hereford, kingland. A great holiday
Rebecca
Excellent mattressesbeds which helped us sleep really well. Quite a few cobwebs etc which made it feel less clean, slight smell in living room and laundry in baskets from previous people staying made me mark it down slightly. Great big property and easy checkin. Would recommend
A beautiful, peaceful place. We loved it.
We will definatly be coming back, just the relax we needed. .Amazing house we charactor and great for family get together. Very special moments made. Lovley area to walk and be with nature. Great host and very supportive.
Abigail
We had a wonderful stay at The Old Rectory. It is a friendly, comfortable, spacious home in a beautiful setting. The house was a perfect size for us, grandparents, parents and children. The extra living room, snug, was an ideal space for the three children 10, 12 and 13 to hang out, whilst the adults relaxed in the lounge. There are plenty of leaflets in the house for local walks and attractions. We had a fabulous stroll around the fields, along the river and up to the church with the owner and her friendly dogs, Paula and Pippa! The house is opposite the dairy farm, and you can hear and smell! the cows as they come up for milking, but this did not cause us any issues. We had a food delivery during our stay and there were plenty of pots and pans to cook our meals in. Thank you.
