The Coach House Reviews

Darren
Clumsy directions causing unnecessary delay. Leaking conservatory which we were asked not to use. Property cold on arrival thermostats set on 13c in December! Tired decor throughout. Sitting room has very poor lighting. Two bulbs not working in kitchen. Towels illmatching and rough. Sidelight in downstairs bedroom not working. Downstairs bathroom very poor with Formica worktop, broken showerfitting and woodwork in need of varnish you don't want to be the second couple renting this property! Shaving light upstairs not working. Mind your head upstairs because of low doorframes needs micro motion sensor lights to avoid injury at night ... I have the scabbie bruises to prove this! Property is generally okay but needs some love and attention to bring it back up to standard. Don't generally bother leaving poor reviews this is only the second in maybe thirty Sykes holidays. Am afraid we wouldn't recommend this property.
Truly amazing place to stay, was like a home from home for us. Perfect for us whilst visiting family. Owners were very friendly and welcoming Hopefully be back to visit again! Thanks.
The property was as we had hoped. Lovely rural location, homely feel, hot tub, well kept garden. Unfortunately on the third evening the boiler stopped working so there was no hot water. The owners living on site were straight on the case and at 9am Monday morning the plumber was with us. Unfortunately parts were not available and the eta for repairs would be Thursday. The owner notified Sykes as per Sykes instruction at which point a series of unfortunate communications began with Sykes. We asked for alternative accommodation, we accepted 2 but were then advised neither were available. We asked for one night in hotel, Sykes refused to meet the costs. We asked if would we be able to claim a refund if we chose to end the holiday 4 days early. We were told no! I disputed that and was told that if I wanted to take the matter further then I should engage a third party to argue the case. The majority of discussions took place during our day trip out when we arrived at our accommodation we discussed the matter with the owners who immediately offered us a refund for the remaining nights, and kindly offered us the use of their bathroom for showers. We decided to stay on for two nights, cutting short our holiday by a day. The owners did everything they could have done boilers break down, these things happen. My ratings would have been higher if not for the issues we experienced at the hands of Sykes who washed their hands of us there has been no follow up during the stay, nor has there been a reply to my email notifying them of our departure. Sykes customer service is wholly lacking and their policies questionable I would stay at The Coach House again, next time dealing direct with owners. If you are thinking to book I would urge you to do the same!
The Coach House is a beautiful home secluded in the middle of the countryside. It offers superb comfort and relaxation and also gives all the facilities you need for you and your family to enjoy the best holiday. It is definitely a home from home. Would love to visit again.
Philip
Everything perfect. Really comfy very clean and spacious. Kitchen very well equipped, the conservatory is perfect looking out to a lovely spacious garden. Loved the hot tub. The lounge upstairs is spacious with comfy sofas and large TV. Location very good. The owners are very friendly who very kindly left us cookies and fizz. We have had a very relaxing peaceful week. Highly recommend.
Deborah
Beautiful, spacious & well equipped cottage. We had a wonderful few days away exploring the local area then coming back to use the hot tub & relax in the comfortable lounge
Had a wonderful stay at the Coach house. The cottage was everything I'd hoped for. Comfortable, clean and cosy. My Grandson particularly liked the hot tub, lots of space for the children to run around. We were warmly welcomed by our host Amanda and a bottle of wine was left at the cottage. A delightful property for a memorable stay.
Great cottage in quiet secluded location. Lovely spacious house with large garden and hot tub. Friendly owners. Lots of parking available. Fully equipped kitchen with all you need.
Yvonne
Very quiet and relaxing place to just chill and wind down. Hot tub a bonus. House very well equipped, could not fault it. Owners lovely and very welcoming. This was are second visit and definitely return again.
The Coach House was excellent and made for a fantastic stay. The owners were really helpful and made everything perfect. The hot tub was great and we really didn't want to leave. set in beautiful grounds with all the amenities we needed. We could not fault it and would love to return
Nicola
We were warmly greeted by Amanda. Nice touch of bottle wine and biscuits waiting for us on kitchen table. The cottage was very well equipped. Children loved the toys. Hot tub was FANTASTIC 40. Super location lots to do in the area. Many thanks Amanda
We had a lovely time but this property needs some TLC 1. leaking shower. 2. Would really benefit from the addition of a shower in the upstairs bathroom. 3. Bedding and towels are tired. Kitchen is great, fresh and well kitted out. Gardens are lovely. We loved the conservatory but the roof blinds were not working so it was unusable in the afternoon. The lounge is great. It is not truly dog friendly, its dog tolerant! The garden is not enclosed but there are rules about having your dog on lead at all times due to horses and sheep it would really benefit from being fenced off. That, I expect would also be an issue if there were small children. Cleaning was not the best in the bathrooms. There was a cot, high chair and many games for kids present. When staying with my dogs I would generally hoover and wash floors before I go but there was only a dirty mop and a hoover with only a hand attachment so I brushed up as best I could. We did enjoy our stay, the location is beautiful, there are lovely pubs around and a takeaway and canal walks on the door step.
Another wonderfully enjoyable stay, we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome! A lovely cottage to stay in, with some great homely touches and the hot tub is a bonus. The garden and grounds are great, loads of room to run around and play, and plenty of fab days out for the family. This was our second stay and I have no doubt we will be back again for another visit
Angela
Super stay, helped by the amazing weather. Loved the garden and hot tub. Very comfy arm chairs with lovely views from the upstairs living room, but weather so nice we spent very little time there.
The Coach House is absolutly beautiful. Just had a 2 night stay there with friends. It was perfect. Very spacious and very comfortable with everything you need. I have already recommended to my sister who also goes away with her friends. Will definitly return. Thankyou Amanda an Graeme.

Yvonne

Theresa
Had a great one night stay at The Coachhouse to celebrate a 40th birthday. Very comfortable, everything we needed and the hot tub was fab! Would definitely recommend! Many thanks to the owners!
Rebecca
A very comfortable and well equipped house. The surroundings are lovely and the garden and hot tub area were great. The house was spotless and well maintained. We would highly recommend a stay at The Coach House.
We had a wonderful time there, the place is very well looked after, the owners are very nice people, really welcoming, couldn't be better!
I would honestly say the pictures dont do this place justice. It is so nice inside and out, and we were all so pleased with all the facilities. It made the perfect accommodation for a girly weekend.
What a glorious week we have had in sunny Shropshire! As well as the weather, the Coach House was everything we could have hoped for. A beautiful cottage in lovely, peaceful surroundings, we honestly didn't want to leave and are already thinking about our next visit. The property was perfect for us, well stocked with everything we needed and some lovely touches for the kids, including a little play area and toys for our 6 year old daughter. Whilst the kids enjoyed our welcome gift of chocolate cookies, the grown ups polished off the bottle of fizz! The garden and outdoor space was lovely, perfect for relaxing, playing games and dog walking. The hot tub was an extra bonus! Within walking distance of a cafe and some lovely pubs, it really has everything you need but is also within a short drive of the local shop and nearby attractions. Wonderful for our family holiday and the owner was very welcoming, a great host. Twelve out of ten!!
Anthony
Fabulous property, friendly hosts, a first class holiday break!
Lovely stay with family for celebration. Very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Nice warm hot tub, not overlooked. Host very welcoming thanks for the bottle! Beautiful setting.
Abigail
Thank you so much for a gorgeous weekend! Absolutely stunning property with all of things you could possible need for a weekend away would recommend to anyone!
Tracey
The Coach House is ideal for people wanting something off the beaten track. The host couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Lovely walks from the house, which was very comfortable, clean, and well supplied. My only thought for improvement would be to make the back garden secure with a fence for dogs and young children. It wasn't a problem at all for us but may make a stay in the summer less relaxing. Overall, though, we would thoroughly recommend The Coach House.
Steven
Only two things to note, 1st floor bathroom could do with a showering facility ... Only two things to note, 1st floor bathroom could do with a showering facility and the hot tub outside could really do with a light for when it gets dark
We really enjoyed our stay. It's a very comfortable cottage. Loved our welcoming gift, thankyou. Loved the hot tub I would defiantly stay here again
Andrew
A beautiful location and a very spacious cottage. I was Impressed by the cleanliness. The hot tub was a real luxury after a day of lots of walking. Excellent host and very welcoming and informative. Our only suggestion for improvements are a second shower installation . A suggestion for Sykes to improve their arrival directions as inaccurate.
Steven
Great place to stop. Lovely owners and great local community. We had 2 disabled adults with us and they felt at home and relaxed.ideal place to recharge and unwind.
