Holly Farm Cottage Reviews

What a lovely place to stay! The house is an interesting mix of midcentury features, decor and furniture combined with modern luxuries like smart TVs, excellent WiFi and of course the fantastic hot tub! The location is ideal for quick access to the town and countryside, but is incredibly quiet and peaceful, with uninterrupted views straight out over the gardens to the fields beyond. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, including a jay and a kite. The house is very well equipped with everything we could have needed and we particularly appreciated the drying room for sorting out our wet cycling stuff. The hosts were very friendly and helpful too. Would definitely highly recommend staying here.

Andrew

It's very simple, it ticks all the boxes you want Do you want a quiet get away in the countryside Nailed it, very peaceful, quiet sheep in the next field, birds tweeting, surrounded by fields, woods, streams etc Do you want to add a hot tub to increase the relaxation Perfect, they have a lovely one just in the garden, easy to put up and remove the cover after being shown how, it maintains temperature and you just put the jets on and off. Do you want somewhere for a family or small group The hot tub would comfortably sit 4 people and could squeeze in more if kidssmall. The cottage has beds for 6 depending on layout. It has what it says it has and the pictures are all accurate.

Lovely, spacious, spotlessly clean cottage in a peaceful farm setting with gorgeous countryside views. The hot tub was the perfect treat, the kitchen was very well equipped, and the multifuel stove made evenings extra cosy. Great location near Llandrindod Wells, also kind and supportive owners. Highly recommend,

Tracey

Beautiful location and friendly owners. I would definitely recommend.

The location was perfect for us and all the facilities excellent. My only comment is that there were no cleaning materials such as toilet cleaner. I may replenish when self catering but I expect there to be basic cleaning materials when I arrive.

Lovely cottage with lovely owners who went above and beyond to make you welcome. Cottage has everything you need and if you love wildlife then you are in for a treat.

Holly Farm Cottage was ideal for our stay. It was close to Llandrindod Wells. We felt the owner was absolutely brilliant, flexible, friendly, caring and happy to accommodate. The facilities were excellent, comfortable, cleanliness was 100, heating available at any time if required, plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. I would highly recommend the cottage.

Lovely comfortable farm cottage. Well equipped and very clean. Friendly hosts. Lots of local wildlife in beautiful area.

Great accomodations, great price, owners are right next door and super helpful if we needed anything. Highly recommend!

Our stay at the cottage was very enjoyable. The cottage was comfortable and cosy. The furnishings were in line with the age of the property. The log burner was efficient and we were provided with plenty of logs for our use. The kitchen was by and large well equipped but required a few additions such as teaspoons, potato peeler and food preparation knives. The dishwasher was not big enough for the 6 occupant house and was faulty not completing a wash cycle. we had to force draining each time we used it. This was reported to the owners who said they would get it sorted. The utility needs a proper individual washing machine and tumble dryer. The hot tub was a wonderful addition despite the rain and time of year. All in all a lovely stay.

Everything was great. Highly recommended!

Very friendly hosts, made us feel welcomed and at home. The cottage was very comfortable and specious. Was a great relaxing holiday for us.

Michael

We had an extremely enjoyable stay at Holly Farm Cottage. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and contained all we needed for our holiday. It was excellently located near to beautiful countryside and places to visit. The cottage was situated in lovely surroundings and the hot tub was a wonderful bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Graham

We absolutely loved our time at Holly Farm Cottage, which is situated in a beautiful and tranquil position and is just a short drive to the magnificent Elan Valley. The local Tesco supermarket is also only a short drive away, which we found extremely convenient. Our hosts were great, pleasant, and helpful, and we would gladly return to this lovely cottage.

Enjoyed our stay and the host's were very helpful in recommending near by places to entertain 3 children under the age of 11.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful setting, very near Llandrindod Wells and its amenities, and just the place from which to explore the wider area. The owners, Ruth and Mervyn, were so kind and helpful without being intrusive.

The most perfect place to unwind. Everything was great and we would love to return as soon as possible. Totally recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere to chill. First class in every way. Well done and huge thanks to Ruth!

Thank you. It was Very good , We had a very enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely holiday at Holly Cottage Farm. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely come again and would recommend this holiday property! Thank you to Ruth and her husband!

Katherine

We had a fantastic holiday at Holly Farm. The cottage was clean and perfect for us. It was so well equipped. Ruth was so knowledgeable and have us lots of recommendations about the local area. They kindly got us some wood so we could light the chiminea. Thank you so much for a lovely break.

Enjoyed a fabulous stay over the bank holiday weekend. The house has everything you need and more and is so warm and comfortable, the hot tub is one of the biggest and best I have ever been in with lovely views over the rolling Welsh countryside and baby lambs gambolling in the fields. Host lovely, there when you need them, discrete when you dont. If I could mark it 6 out of 5 I would.

Estera

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was very peaceful and spacious. The hot tub was a great addition after a long day of hanging around the surroundings. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. A great experience overall, so we highly recommend staying a couple of days at the Holly farm cottage.

Nice quiet location but in easy reach of local sites . Tesco and Aldi 5 min drive away. Well stocked kitchen ,good fridge freezer facilities and efficient cooker. Wifi good had teenagers downstairs toilet and extra stair rail suited elderly parents.Beds comfy ,sky wonderful to view and star gaze at night from hot tub

We really enjoyed our holiday at Holly Farm Cottage especially the hot tub and the real fire in the lounge, logs provided every day.

Excellent cottage in a wonderful location, the owners are lovely and on hand if anything is needed, would highly recommend the cottage.

We had a fabulous long weekend at Holly Cottage. The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable. The views are lovely over the countryside and the hot tub was a lovely way to while away an hour! Fantastic time!

Veronica

A wonderful 2 weeks spent at Holly Cottage. We received a warm welcome from the owners who always took the time to chat with us during our stay. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful to soak in after a day's sightseeing! Highly recommended.

Michelle

A little disappointed that the hot tub was out of action when we arrived and we were not able to use it till the Wednesday . So we were able to use it Wednesday and Thursday . We were vacating the premises on the Friday. Other than that we enjoyed our Monday to Friday break. The host apologize for tub being out of action. It was repaired as quickly as possible.

The cottage was lovely in a nice quiet setting. We had homemade Welsh Cakes on arrival. The owner came and checked that we had everything we needed. They had a new WiFi installed while we were there which was a bit weak, but hopefully the router will be put in the house to make it stronger. The only negative is too many personal nik naks on display as we had a 16 month old toddler in our party who likes to explore!!

Great Hospitality, very accommodating hosts, lovely cozy clean cottage, fantastic full size HOT TUB.

Stephanie

Our hosts were very welcoming. The cottage is beautifully peaceful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. A perfect relaxing holiday.

We had a very comfortable 1week stay at Holly Farm Cottage. The farmhouse is in a beautiful area of the Welsh countryside, a short drive from many scenic spots and also reasonable driving distance from the Hay Festival. The hosts live in the adjoining cottage, they were friendly and respected our privacy. We enjoyed the views from the bedrooms with rolling hills and cute sheep enjoying the sun, and the large outdoor hot tub was the perfect way to relax in the evenings. The cottage is spacious and was immaculately clean upon arrival. Our hosts had thought of everything, the cottage has all the cooking equipment you might need, extra towels for the hot tub, even a medical kit for a friend who cut her hand. It's located on a working farm, and we found it very interesting watching the sheep get sheared from the windows! Overall we felt very at home in the cottage and would stay again. The WiFi signal is very weak in the cottage and didn't reach all the bedrooms, which may be an issue if you intend on spending a lot of time indoors. This was not a big issue for us, however, and everything else about our stay was perfect.

Loved our stay and are hoping to book again for Summer 2020. Cottage is really comfortable and we absolutely loved the retro style and antique furniture. Area is quaint, quirky and totally unspoilt.

Abigail

Property needed some updating but once use to the old furnishings it adds to the charm. Beds were not very comfortable and were put off that the owner let them self into the property un announced on the first day so made sure we kept door locked at all times. That said they were nice people and helpull. Kept us topped up with wood for the fire as the house was quite cold at night with it being 3 degrees. The hot tub was lovely and warm and had large towels provided for us. The kitchen was well equipped and lounge and bedrooms had a beautiful view. Location was a bit remote if you wanted to walk for dinner as we had kids so ate in most nights. On the other hand they had a great soft play barn called Quackers that is a 5min drive so great for kids age 110. Over all we enjoyed our stay and owned made some lovely cakes for out arrival and fresh flowers in the lounge so nice personal touch.

Great, tucked away location. Owners very friendly and accomodating. Property was very well presented.

Trevor

Mervyn and Ruth were excellent hosts, the Welsh cakes and fresh flowers were unexpected and and a real welcoming treat. The cottage was a perfect base to explore mid Wales, the hottub was ideal for relaxing at the end of the day.

Elizabeth

Very welcoming owners. Close if needed but not obtrusive. Wonderful cottage with everything we could need. Welsh cakes on arrival were the best we have ever tasted! Hot tub enjoyed by everyone throughout the week. Excellent WiFi. Great sized cottage and lovely setting. Sitting in hot tub watching stars come out was blissful. We travelled about to different places Hayon Wye, Hereford, Aberwistwyth, as well as enjoying local amenities such as Red Kite feeding and horseriding and local pubrestaurants. We had a great family holiday with party members between 1076 years of age. Would recommend Holly Farm Cottage to anyone. Great place and hosts.

Melanie

A comfortable, warm and spacious property where you can relax in a peaceful location in a beautiful part of Wales. It was so good to have a well looked after hot tub and the Welsh Cakes on arrival were the best we've ever had! The owners are lovely and full of ideas on places to go. Definitely book for the Sunday carvery at the Golf Club in Llandrindod Wells before you leave home as it's always busy and the food is amazing!! We definitely hope to return. A fabulous find

Andrew

We LOVE Holly Farm Cottage ! Beautiful cottage and location so peaceful and tranquil. Ruth and Mervyn are the perfect hosts and go above and beyond the cottage caters for your every need even down to the little details a true home away from home. We loved exploring Wales and we really didnt want to leave when it was time to go home. We will be returning to Holly Farm Cottage without a doubt.
