Living room furniture was very worn and dirty otherwise this is an excellent property

Perfect location, with perfect views with things for everyone! Hot tub and games room were a superb addition. Such a lovely welcome pack homemade lemon drizzle was to die for! Owners were on hand with TV and Wifi issues and were very accommodating with requests. Bedding and towels were provided, along with additional towels for hot tub use this was fantastic! Only two downsides really. The separate annex needs somewhere to hang or put clothes on shelves, cupboards. Downstairs has a cupboard with a rail, but only 2 hangars. Upstairs massive empty cupboards that had no shelves or hanging facility. Could not get wifi in annex really needs a booster or its own box. Overall, would definitely recommend this wonderful accommodation for a large group.

We had a wonderful time. The property is lovely, the beds are comfortable, linen and towels just right. The facilities are perfect to keep a large group entertained we would come back.

We recently stayed at The Stables and had a wonderful experience. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and wellmaintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was peaceful and made a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the whole property had a lovely atmosphere. We really enjoyed our time there and would happily recommend it to others looking for a comfortable getaway. The only small suggestion would be that a slightly later checkout time would have been appreciated, as it would have made for a more relaxed final morning. That said, this didnt take away from what was otherwise an excellent stay. Thank you for a lovely visit we would be happy to return in the future.

Wonderful stay, beautiful scenery and fantastic house. Exactly as listed and perfect for a big group of people.

This is a most impressive holiday home with room for 14 of us to gather in for a family week. Every thing lived up to the brochure. The beds were comfortable and the sofas etc in the sitting room and the hot tub was a hit so was the games room though it would be nice to have a couple of chairs in there for watchers. The sheep on the hill behind the Stables had tiny lambs which were lovely to watch. For a roast dinner we were short of serving dishes and had to serve veg from saucepans but generally we had what we needed but bring a washing up brush, dishcloth, scourer and tea towels. Great decision to book The Stables!

For large family gatherings the accommodation is great. The annexe and games room are a real bonus. As was the hot tub. The welcome pack was fabulous the best we've ever had with Sykes Cottages! The Stables is set in wonderful countryside, and a great location for walking. The hosts were friendly and very helpful.

This place is amazing! Good value for money, all amenities that you would expect in a property of this size. Lovely and warm and cozy but with plenty of space. We were a party with 5 children and there was enough space to allow us to relax while the children played. A company called Hillside Kitchen caterers visits the Stables often and supplies buffets to your request, ours was fab! For an extra cost obviously A definite highly recommended for both the Stables and Hillside Kitchen Paula

This is a big, beautifully renovated, warm, comfortable property. The games room is perfect and well situated, as is the annex. Having the hot tub and BBQ added to the holiday too. Ideal for our family holiday, there was plenty of space for us all to spread out but there is also the ability for us all to get together around the lovely sized dining spaces, both inside and out, or in the super comfortable living area. A really gorgeous property.

Lets be clear, the house is excellent. Traditional yet modern, large open areas, light and comfortable, and great games room and hot tub. So whats not to like? First the description of four bathrooms. In fact there are only three. The fourth is a a toilet off the utility room. Of the other three one is ensuite and one is in the separate building, leaving four.bedrooms in the main house one bathroom only. Not good enough really for a large party of guests. Second, whilst the house was very clean there were multiple appliances that didnt work properly, most notably the oven. Overall a lack of care to the details, but the there was praise for all the towels provided. The Stables is an enjoyable place to stay, but could be so much better.

This house is absolutely incredible and perfect for a big group! ! We came for a hen and it couldn't have been better. It's such a beautiful home and the photos don't really do it justice! The homeowner was great and super flexible which made our weekend a lot easier! They also left us some treats and a freezer full of ice which was really thoughtful. Would definitely recommend!!

What a stunning home with the most beautiful views! The location is great with Knighton being a short drive away, we had a family group of 16 of us and we very comfortable in this house! The games room and hot tub were a great added bonus! If I was to suggest anything another ensuite would be great when you have a full capacity. Loved our stay and would love to return again!

Just returned from celebrating my wife and her twin sisters birthday party, we opted to get the lodge decorated by the owner Louise for the birthday celebrations and it was amazing, I highly recommended this saves you a lot of time and trouble. What a beautiful lodge and cottage this is. Warm and clean on arrival and a beautiful welcome hamper which was a treat after a long drive. The lemon cake was delicious. There where thirteen of us altogether. The bedrooms are large and airy giving you plenty of space. Bathrooms and showers are clean and modern with a huge bath. The kitchen is very well catered for with everything you need for a full cooking service with a big group. The living area is bigger than expected but this was brilliant as we all had plenty of space to chill out of a evening and enjoy our drinks whilst dancing the night away. The area outside the lodge is lovely too with plenty of grass for the kids too play on if needed. The hot tub was lovely after a long day out to chill and enjoy a nice cold whiskey whilst watching the horses play in the next field. The games room was a lovely way to spend the evenings playing tournaments of pool, air hockey, darts and table football. Also had a retro pacman machine which the kids loved. We will definitely return when we are in the area, hopefully in summer so we can enjoy the long summer nights and get the BBQ going. Whilst we where staying here the local village flooded and half of our family got stranded. Louise who owns the property was brilliant offering help and even letting us extend our stay for a night so we could retrieve the cars the next day. We couldn't of asked for anything more. The help we recieved from everyone in the community went above and beyond. Opening the community centre and supplying hot food and drinks. Local people helped us rescue our cars too. This really is a beautiful part of the world with the most amazing people. If you need transport whilst you are here I highly recommend Owens Motors for large groups. Make sure you book in advance. Dai was a lovely guy taking us to dinner one night. The best part about these guys though was the help we received from them during the floods, the owner rescued half our family putting himself and his vehicle at risk. To get our family home and safe. Thankyou for a memorable and amazing stay

Excellent property for large group celebrations

We had a great weekend as a group of 14 at The Stables The weather wasnt great but the hot tub and games room gave lots of entertainment along with our own murder mystery night! Kiddies Loved hearing the donkey and seeing the sheep Beautiful setting but couldnt work the TV Fantastic amount of crockery, pans etc and empty cupboard space for our food, wine etc

Myself and a group of friends recently stayed at the stables for a 40th birthday and we had the best time. Both the main building, the Annex and outside area were beautifully maintained and well equipped for all your needs, and I would definitely return and recommend to others. Perfect for all occasions, wether with a group of friends, or with a large family, theres something for everyone. The owners were easily contactable, and were able to assist with all enquires before and during our stay.

Great for Gatherings! The Stables and Annexe were clean and comfortable, ideal for our multigenerational family gathering. Special mention for the social spaces, games room and hot tube which were superb and special thanks to our lovely host Louise!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a beautiful view. The rooms are huge and clean and we had plenty of towels. The property was ideal for our 12 guests and the games room was a great way of bringing everyone together as was the communal eating area. I will 100 be recommending this property to everyone I know going forward. Thank you to Louise and family for having us!

The house and annex was beautifully clean. we received a welcome pack with afternoon goodies. We were a party of 16. 13 adults & 3 kids. We organised a supermarket delivery shortly after arriving. Locality was brilliant. Went to an activity centre Oakerwood , horse riding and after leaving the cottage, went to Elan Valley, went for walk , picnic and then Rhayader to see Red Kite Feeding Centre. Had a wonderful time. Would definitely return.

Lovely property with lovely views. We went as 14 adults, you and old, a teen and a 3 year old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is clean and spacious. We cooked every meal time and the house has everything you would need. The hot tub and games room went down great. The games room actually has more games than pictured. We had an issue with the noise when the cold water tap ran upstairs in the main house but the owner dealt with it. There was a nice welcome basket on arrival. There were a lot of flies coming in but that just comes with being on a farm so not a major issue. There is also another property joined on to the main annex for 11 people called the Hayloft so if you have a larger party, it would be ideal. Would go back again!

The Stables was well equipped and very comfortable. One comment we would make The Information Booklet needed more detail regarding the recycling procedure along with a more even mix of the recycling trays. But overall our stay was great!

Amazing stay. Great location tucked away from the rest of the world but only a few minutes drive away from all youd need. Everything was clean and tidy and comfy. The beds were amazing. Any issues we had were swiftly dealt with. The only issue we did have was an oil refill but the owners acted swiftly and did all they could to sort us out. We loved our stay and had a wonderful holiday. That can be tricky for four families with young kids, but The Stables had everything we needed.

A beautiful place to stay. The house is kept to a high standard and would recommend to anyone.

We had a fantastic stay 10 adults and 5 children. Perfect for a big get together. Immaculate condition and location. Highly recommended

First impressions were fantastic the place looked amazing and matched our expectations all week through. Kitchen well equipped, beds, sofas very comfortable. Couple of things downstairs toilet flush not 100 & Upstairs stairrail bit loose. Games room was brilliant, having a few pool players in group was very impressed with table and new balls. Hole place was very warm and underfloor heating was a game changer. Much appreciated Thanks

Great place to stay and live in for a few days for a big group. The heating wasnt working when we got there but after a quick call the owners was there in a flash to sought it out. Also due to a storm the night before there was no water in the hot tub but was filled again the day after and up and running

Great house for a group of friends! Very well equipped kitchen, lovely hot tub & fantastically comfy settees. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the beautiful views around the property.

Just got home after 3 nights at the incredibly beautiful Stables! Booked with my friends for my 30th birthday and it did not disappoint in any way! Arrived first to a bunch of flowers and balloons arranged by my boyfriend and kindly decorated by Louise who was so kind and friendly before, during and after the stay! I cant thank her enough

What a truly outstanding place for a complete, tranquil get away from it all property. Comfort & facilities in abundance. My only regret was having to leave. The owners on hand & were so helpful, A huge thank you to them for making it a memorable holiday that will not be forgotten.

The Stables is the perfect place to stay for large groups. I would highly recommend visiting the waterfall and petting farm. The only downfall with the property was the main bathroom shower appeared to clog slightly while using it. But other than that, we had a great holiday!

We stayed at The Stables with my 11 friends for my 24th birthday and honestly had the best 3 nights of our lives! Hot tub was constantly hot, showers were lovely and the beds were a dream! There was building work being done in the property directly across from us but we didnt hear a peep from them, instead as they were going on lunch breaksready to leave offering to nip to the shops for us for extra alcohol or food which was so lovely! the owner Louise was delightful too nothing was too much bother! The only problem we had with staying here was the flies, but in my opinion thats out of the owners hands so its more just a location thing.

We had a lovely weekend with the family . The Stables felt spacious and comfortable, it would have been nice to have more seating outside . The hob was a little temperamental at times but overall a great time was had.

Amazing week away at The Stables. The owners were easy to contact and were amazing when we needed some help. The hot tub got plenty of use and the animals were super friendly. Facilities were perfect. The bath tub was devine and so much storage, that for the first holiday ever we didn't live out of our suitcase and instead put everything out. 1010. And would definitely consider a return in the future.

Would definitely recommend and will be 100 returning! !
