Overall the property was a nice place to stay, however the parking wasn't great with residents asking us to move cars from areas that were not owned by them. The road leading down to the property has not been maintained either with a very large drop at the top which could damage some cars. A warning about that would be helpful before arriving. Garden furniture was also broken with no warning. The house could have been cleaner with visible dust and unwiped tables. The dishwasher was also left full with no basic cleaning supplies provided like washing up liquid. The hot tub also had too much chlorine in causing eye burning. Other than that the location was good being near the reservoir for a lovely walk and only 8 minutes from town.

The house clearly had good money spent at the outset, but the upkeep is disappointing and the cleanliness in frankly disgusting and the 'housekeeper' accepts no responsibility for this. Broken items trampoline several broken springs and dangerous, chair in bedroom apparently now fixed, jets and chemical basket in hot tub, cutlery tray in dishwasher, fencegate in front garden apparently now fixed. Dirty items couches, rug in kitchen, cobwebs on ceilingswindows, bbq smells so bad we had to move it, walls, architraves, hair traps in shower full of previous residents hair, solid food mess on cutlery, potspans. Dust on appliances. A squashies sweet on skirting behind unit in dining room, wrapping paper on floor, confetti on rug in Livingroom from previous residents. A used mug left on the sideboard when we arrived. Flying ants nest in the back garden. Chlorine levels in hot tub far too high on first couple of days, clearly shocked the pool. No useable sockets in the room with bunk beds which was annoying. Complaint raised and response was along the lines that you didn't complaint during stay so it must have been fine and the housekeeper does not feel that the concerns warrant the level of compensation requested. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANY COMPENSATION! My hope for raising the complaint is that they would acknowledge, apologise and address the issues for the next guests to avoid any disappointment for their holidays. To summarise, I hope it is cleaned properly between lets, and the landlord takes note to maintain the property properly. DATE OF STAY 190726 250726 REVIEW 070826

The house was in the perfect area for long walks and places to see. Accomadation had everything you need for a short break, good for familes, well maintained and plenty of parking. Would recommend this house as we didn't come across any issues from start to finish.

The property offers a great space for families with lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. The garden is large. Unfortunately the property and garden needs to be redecorated and have a general overhaul in terms of maintenance. It currently does not meet the 4 star rating and isnt worth the high price tag for a weeks stay. If you are planning to visit take an eye mask for the downstairs bedroom, there are no games, dvds or dvd player despite them being listed.

Wifi was the biggest issue but it also gave us quality family time without using our phones.

Hiraeth is ideally situated for exploring the Brecons with lots to do and walks from the doorstep. The family living space that spills out into the garden was amazing and the hot tub was definitely a hit with everyone! The property was very clean and welcoming on arrival. The beds were extremely comfortable and we slept well despite there not being thick curtains at any of the windows Take eye masks if you are light sensitive. On the down side, storage space throughout the house is sparse, and with very little hanging and storage space, we lived out of the suitcase. The hob is tricky to use, but if you are used to using an induction hob, it's fine. We did have issues with the fridge, not being cold enough to keep food cool enough in the very warm weather, although it eventually became cooler, when running it half empty. Luckily, we had a fridge in the camper van that we also used Maybe in cooler weather it's fine. Overall, however, we had a great stay and with a bit more TLC to this property and garden, would give it a 5 star rating

Gorgeous property, fantastic views, great facilities. Parking is a bit limited, and try as we may we could not get the hob to work. It was a good job there was a plug in two ring hob in one of the cupboards. We could really have done with a good mop too!!
